Even if Star embellished, never good for an angry guy to get a gun to shoot out his frustrations (on the ground or otherwise). I'd run like hell, that would scare the bejesus out of me forever with him. Deal breaker for me is a bad temper anyway, too scary to live with that, especially with children in the mix. JMO

I knew I was going to struggle with the spin tactics and rumor mongering that fly around the lives of reality TV contestants. I knew it was going to be difficult to keep my mouth shut. But this is far worse than I expected. And the hardest part is I cannot possibly rebut anything written in that article without sharing private details that aren't mine to share.
Suffice it to say that both Doug and his girlfriend at the time were facing an inhuman amount of stress brought on by unexpected change and challenges that most of us could never imagine let alone want to face ourselves. Doug is a good man, a loving father and a loyal friend. If you could ask any friend of his about his character they would say, "Yes, he made mistakes as a young man. He has learned and grown. He accepts responsibility for his actions. He faces life with integrity and strength. He is a good man and a good friend."
I wish I could say more and share more, but I cannot. Just be careful not to judge a person on a sliver of their past that was far from ordinary and taken completely out of context.

Maybe this makes the wetpaint source about his angry comments very believable...

Thank you for sharing that, and it is something we should remember about each contestant!!
I do believe people could be good people, and still make mistakes.
Again, thanks!!

Vision, So glad he learned from his mistakes. Did he undergo anger managment to make a permanent change when he's under stress and unexpected changes & challenges? Thanks for sharing, alot can change in 11-12 years in anyone's life and glad his did for the better. You seem like a good friend, and I commend you for defending Doug. No one is perfect, especially in their youth.
