I really don't think we've seen enough of Sean to say what he's like. He was extremely guarded on the show although doesn't seem to have trouble being goofy with John so I guess there's hope for him.

ETA: I think there's nothing worse than watching a too serious lead. I really wanted to poke my eyes out watching Travis & Lorenzo and found them equally tedious. I'm still in shock that Travis landed a tv show. He seems a little better now but not a lot. He does have the looks I guess.

Ha! at your last comment. I'm still in the "Arie's dreamy" boat myself.

It's entirely possible that I've been sold a bill of goods when it comes to Arie's emotional vulnerability. But it seems to me that, not unlike Ben F, the guy's been dealt some genuinely wrenching emotional blows in the past couple of years, that TPTB know his buttons well, and that he'd be particularly vulnerable to the Bach bubble and the manipulations of TPTB. I get the impression that the guy needs time to heal and as I said prior to Ben F's season, a TV stint on the Bach is not the place to heal. It's actually the one of the worst possible places to heal IMO.

I'm not comparing their levels of emotional maturity to Arie's at all. It's just that Roberto and Sean don't seem to have the same emotional baggage. I'm sure they would, as all leads are, be subject to Bach bubble syndrome. I believe they would all throw themselves into the process once it started. I'm thinking more of the situationally scripted stuff that TPTB throw in and the impact it can have on a lead and a season: I think Roberto and Sean are in more of a place to withstand the crap and still deliver a swoon factor. JMO, as always.

Albean...all very good points and, yes, Jef did happily join in the fray who I find way more immature than the rest with his desire to be 'cool' and as his Mom noted 'eccentric' with dropping the F. All three are great candidates for leads and Arie would wear his heart on his sleeve the most!

Pretty sure it was mostly Arie, Chris and Jef (the 3 that seemed to have the most problems with him) that celebrated Ryan's leaving, Sean and Doug were off to the side not really even on camera. Can't remember about Wolf or Travis (was he still there at that point or was he already gone?), if they smiled or laughed or anything... Can y'all?

As for the thread topic...I agree all 3 would be great! Don't want to see any of them get run over by TPTB or the media bus, though. :Frown:

Jef said in his media interview during the show that what they showed actually was not a celebration after Ryan left but was instead something entirely different but edited to make it look that way. Shocking, I know lol.

Jen was horrible - and clearly no where near ready to do it. Had her season taken place a year after it did, I suspect it would've been a better season - neither here nor there since she's happily married with children.

I dont' care who the leads are, F1s, F2s, F3s, F6s (Jake) - I just want to be entertained. I dont' watch this show to see a lovestory - I watch it for the trainwreck that it is. Opinions are subjective and depending on who one may be rooting for, there's almost always an arguement that a love story exists with that person.

ICAM, that's the impression I got from Arie as well, that he would be fodder in the producers' hands, due to his emotional vulnerability. He has given much evidence of his emotional impulsiveness, both on the show and in his personal life, from tattooing his girlfriend's name on his arm, to declaring Emily to be the love of his life halfway through filming. The guy is NOT cautious or skeptical of other people's motives at all from what we've seen, and this emotional/romantic naivete would no doubt be exploited by the producers as much as possible. It might make for a great season for viewers, but depending on how things played out, perhaps not so much so for him personally.

And ITA with whoever said that there is so much subjectivity in assessing which season was great/boring/gave us a "real" love story, that I don't believe it has anything to do with casting a "winner" or a "loser" as the lead. There are only a few seasons where I think almost everyone, including the producers, would agree they were duds: Jen's, Travis', Lorenzo's, maybe Ben's. The rest had viewers who loved them, viewers who hated them, or viewers who hated them and watched anyway.

From a ratings standpoint, Lochte would be more of the draw than those 3 guys combined. He's a ridiculous, sometimes hilarious dope who sometimes seems like a decent guy, sometimes like a d-bag. It's not that I want Roberto or Sean to be exposed to TPTB's shenanigans, but I feel like they have more of a chance of overcoming them.

Lochte would draw a whole new audience and maybe even more male viewers. But for the wrong reasons. There's a possibility that he'd turn the entire show into a joke which is not where Fleiss would want his franchise to go. Once it goes there, you can't bring it back. I think BP3 has already gone there, although I don't think that was Fleiss's original intent. A lot of Bachelor/B'chette fans don't watch BP3 because it is so trashy. Lochte would be a huge risk, but the payoff, if they could get him to fit into the format, would be also be huge. Is Fleiss a gambler??
