I'm on the fence - I absolutely adore him and would watch and rewatch and rewatch.....but....we also know what MF is capable of doing to a lead. The men generally fare better, but you just don't know what MF would do in the name of entertainment. My gut is telling me he shouldn't do it - the viewer in me wants him.

For some reason, I feel like Roberto has really good head in his shoulders, and will not be pushed around by producers...(not too much anyway)

The problem with Ryan is that they just can't control his mouth. It's not so much during the show, but after the show, when he's expected to do the rounds with the media. He's such a loose cannon. A complete dunce when it comes to "reading a room." And personally, I get tired of all the preachy little pep-talk sermons he seems to love to give. I understand that his faith is important, but I get the sense that he never really listens or deeply understands all the stuff he preaches. They're just words to him. Yes, he would probably be funny, but I'm pretty sure he'd wear thin really quick, especially if it's all him, all the time.

Ryan would be a hoot if he they could get some feisty girls to put him in his place. I'm still hoping it's Roberto though.

Roberto is one of my all-time fave contestants so I was thrilled to hear the rumors that he might be next Bach. However, I must confess that as this season played out, I've fallen in love with Arie. I really want to see him find his perfect match. And his sense of humor would be so entertaining (remember "Doug sad, Doug mad"). Sean doesn't do much for me. I think he is a fine, up-standing young man but body builders turn me off. I just don't find their bodies attractive and the few I have known personally seemed very self-absorbed.

I also like Roberto more than the others and then came Arie, so now he's my number one favorite. There's a lot of similarity between these two guys in my opinion; they're both laid back, charming, gentleman, close to their mothers, athlete and funny. One thing that stands out for me though is their humility, despite of the fact that they possess all the qualities that every woman would love their prince charming to have.

Nonetheless, if I have to choose this season........I would like Arie to be the Bachelor. I was so devastated seeing him heartbroken during the finale and my heart went all out for him at the ATFR.

For some reason i feel like Roberto has the same views about this show that CL does (and CL turned it down flat after being courted the heck out of for months!) -- dunno if it's cos of how close they were or how Roberto is at best hesitant about the media frenzy that comes with the show. Not once have I heard Roberto talk about the show with anything but a seasoning of realism, a little bit of healthy skepticism and "oh my can't believe i met ali on a tv show" humor. I do think he believes love can happen everywhere and is a total romantic and wants that girl but at the same time he is one of the people who's not really excited by all the shenanagans and swears by "the process" etc. etc. -- he's not the kind to take the show that seriously...

My guess is (this might sound very wrong but I don't think tptb are above this line of thinking) MF likely wants Roberto the most cos he's pretty well established and can bring an element of "status" because he runs a business and is successful in what he does + he accomplishes the minority bachelor and when will tptb get the chance to get one with this much positive attention from having *won* a previous season? minority bachelors rarely ever make it far if at all past the first few weeks especially with the meager number of minority bachelors that get on this show at all. In these two point I think Roberto is like an opportunity the show absolutely shouldn't pass up from a public perception standpoint as a franchise.

I don't think Arie and Sean bring that kind of "eligibility" to the table tho they are awesome guys. I do also think the quality of women that'd flood in for Roberto will be impeccable - heck I've heard people on this board contemplating auditioning if it's Roberto. At this point, to be honest, I'll be truly surprised if it's Roberto but I am not surprised in the least bit if he's TPTB's top pick. From the edited Roberto that I saw tho I'd be VERY surprised if he goes for it...and if they convince him it'll def have to be with *how* the show is done not with $$.

I tend to think that Roberto's too far from having been in the public eye to be a big draw. I know people here like him but I don't know anyone in my life hoping he's the next Bachelor. Even Emily didn't bring the ratings they had to have hoped for and she was more recent. On the other hand, both Arie & Sean are from Emily's season of the low ratings so maybe a wash?

I don't think any of the guys are going to make everyone happy. The only one who's my type is Arie.

I like Roberto, but I just cannot understand who would still be interested in him, other than crazy message board people like us. I would think Arie or Sean would have a bigger draw.

I agree in this instance, Nutty. Roberto is a great guy, but there's nothing noteworthy about him to make a lead that draws. If they're going to recycle, they need to look at the season just aired.

And maybe that's what makes him so attractive to Fleiss. You always want what you can't have and Roberto doesn't want the show so the show wants him even more? I don't know. Just a theory for why he's still in the mix. Everyone is right. Outside of the boards, no one really remembers him. If you look at the public polls, he's down around 10 or 15 percent. Having him would almost be like a brand new bachelor.

Lots of people think they brought Arie in to set him up as the next bachelor, but then Emily went for him big time. I think the producers assumed he'd be F1 from early on, so they lost their pick pretty quick. And then, when she went for Jef, that left Arie right where they wanted him, except that he was trashed from actually falling in love with Emily. So then started looking at Sean because he'd gathered a group of fans.

I LOVE Roberto, but I totally agree. The fact that they went to him way back in June, when they had known that Sean/Arie would come off looking heartbroken and with a huge fan base (as most F2/F3s do, especially with their edit) and the fact that Emily (the most recent F1 to become lead) had produced mediocre ratings tells me that they had some kind of ulterior motive than just to find the Bachelor with the biggest fan base.

I think that it has to do with the discrimination lawsuit and the opportunities that the show would probably have by having a minority lead. It is possible that a lot of organizations and advertisers that haven't previously been interested might become so. Also, I think that no matter who the lead is, ratings have always been decent (win the 18-49 women demo) and they have always been #1 in tabloid covers.
