@CHO I get it. And, like Billysmom, I keep flip flopping. But I can't help thinking that Leslie was the "cool girl" in high school that was unattainable for Jerry. Then he becomes the Bachelor and his options have opened up to include the cool girls. But those of us who weren't in the cool group growing up just wouldn't feel comfortable partnering with someone like that for life. He realized that Theresa represents the one he can't live without as their lives would seamlessly knit together.

@CHO that is my total sticking point!! Gerry even told Leslie what Trista said .. don’t chose who you can live it…But someone you can’t live without!!!.. also all of Gerry confession to Leslie ( many times) we are shown him saying ILV.. we have never SEEN him confess ILY to Theresa!! Therefore to the viewers…He is Gaga over Leslie… JMO

Good thoughts - and it would seem as if a match with Theresa would be better ...
Theresa seems to be comfortable with what she is getting from Gerry so far ...

But previews seem to be trying to paint a picture of Theresa as the rejected F2, no?  Have they ever been that obvious in previews before? To my eyes (and old-lady memory) the only pointed indicator of a Leslie rejection is the season opener preview with her voiceover (and possibly the reaction of the daughters, assuming i have their outfits sorted correctly?).... but how many regular (and new) viewers would recall that?  jmo

Can you please refresh MY aging memory () the voiceover you are referring to - and what are the daughters saying or doing ?

I hear you and that is what makes this show so cray cray.
The editing is supposed to take the viewers on a roller-coast ride. Every.Season.

In the LESS than four weeks it took to film this season - August 4th thru August 31st - there really hasn't been enough time; REAL time, for Gerry to spend a lot of quality time with ANYBODY. Imo.

On the very first night,
- Theresa gets a kiss.  Gerry 'broke the rules' with her.
- Leslie initiates a dance, which evolves into a group dance, BUT did anyone notice how the editors highlighted a WINK by Gerry towards Theresa? It's there. For a reason.

We have seen a FIRST DATE - sentimental- with Theresa.
As well as an adventure date - high energy- with  Leslie.
We have seen quality HTDs with both of them. With Kissing and extra time. Theresa got the Fireworks on the NJ Ferris Wheel.
We have seen L and T together on group dates -
- Talent show - Leslie's dance, Theresa's talent happened but wasn't shown
- At the Fairgrounds - Theresa had a make out session with Gerry on that Ferris Wheel as well. Leslie had some alone time in a cart but then sat out the Big Swinging Wheel event. (Theresa sat beside Gerry for that one)
- On the pickleball date, Leslie was absent but Theresa was seen in the court beside Gerry. Trista has since said that she saw a strong connection between Gerry & Ellen and Gerry & Theresa.

Gerry admitted that he knew Theresa was a financial specialist but they really didn't have the time during those earlier three weeks to discuss what that all involved. So he wasn't totally clueless about her. He just hadn't had the time to get into those specific details.

I think some of the 'hard questions' they may have had to discuss COULD have involved things such as all those TABOO topics. I will note them but ONLY as things that could be deal-breakers. NOT for discussion of OUR opinions on these topics!! BUT, they would probably have discussed these things behind closed doors because they do matter.

Politics: Dem or Rep. Religion. Pro-life or Pro-Choice. Pacifist or War Champion.
Multiple past sexual partners or none. Gambling or No gambling. All those topics that define one's values.
Favorite Football teams. (Ok, maybe that one's not taboo or a deal-breaker, but if all your friends are for one team, and your wife is for an other... she might not serve snacks ) ETC.

IF one of the two women had more in common with him on the tough questions, that may have precipitated the Watershed moment.
Even though he was favouring Leslie going into the FSDs, it doesn't mean that he hadn't also built very strong feelings for Theresa. Or that he wasn't physically attracted to Theresa because he was physically attracted to Leslie.
They are both beautiful women.
All just my opinion.

The season opener preview is on page 5 of this thread. On it, we hear Leslie's voice (I'm convinced it's her voice) say "But I thought you chose me" (paraphrasing) and crying. It's really a hard one to look past as a clue that it's not Leslie.

I'm sticking with Theresa F1. Emotional connection is there. Gerry was in awe of her profession - may have reminded him of how he build his own career and wealth.

Great sleuthing! I do think Theresa if F1 and I have been thinking that from almost the start. If Leslie is F1, they truly fooled me but anything is possible! Just hoping that Gerry did find the one and that the F2 will be consider as the potential Golden Bachelorette (if she wants of course)! The Golden Bachelor surpass all of my expectations indeed!
