Re the success rate, there is one factor that I have been thinking about. The time between filming the FRC and airing it is really tough on the couples. They only meet every other week in a very unnatural setting, and they cannot talk about their happiness like you would normally do. That period is at least a month longer for The Bachelor.
Maybe they should end filming in mid-December instead.

Not that we will ever get it, but I too am curious what Lauren considered being treated badly by her ex-fiancé. I tend to agree she will be the deciding factor in their relationship as I don’t see Arie as changing at all. JMO.
I think Arie and Lauren will have a spectacular crash and burn or actually make it. I don’t see one of the one to two yearbachelor relationships happening. Now is it success or crash and burn? I have no idea.
I am secretly hoping for an on air wedding Tuesday. I truly want this show to jump the shark and to me Arie is the perfect for the job.

@stuckinsc - I think the worst thing they can do is get married quickly, considering all the turmoil. In addition, you are right that Arie will not change, and IMHO he really does not know much about Lauren at all. All her quietness did not give him or us a chance to find out what she is really like.
As for the show, there seem to be some folks who believe it has gone off the deep end and reached the end of its time. What started out to be fairly uncomplicated has morphed into something so unrealistic it blows the mind, well, mine anyhow. I watch out of habit and some kind of morbid curiosity. JMO.

A body language read was made on Lauren and said, she’s typical winner material . Add to that , she’s the type Arie always goes for.
It’s true that they haven’t even lived together yet but what a combination . A girl with trust issues engaged to a guy who can’t be trusted. *Perfect*

@Newto I want the wedding for us. I don’t care about Arie. Their engagement five weeks after the end of his last one, out of the contractual obligations makes me think they are ridiculous anyway. To me a wedding would just be more compound ridiculousness. JMO.

Fleiss would love this imo.

Oh yeah I'm definitely rooting for a TV wedding at the ATFR. It's the only chance in hell these two have at getting married and it's also the best chance MF has at getting his dream ending. All JMO.

@bluwavz MF almost got Emily 1.0 to marry Brad 2.0 in South Africa, so it only makes sense the Emily 2.0 would marry Emily 1.0's reject on the AFTR. JMO.

sosleepy wrote:I can’t totally write off Arie/Lauren just yet... only because history shows us with this show the couples who face the most adversity and critism, are many times the couples that withstand the test of time.
Ten years ago I would have laughed in your face along with most of you if you had told me 24 year old monotonous Molly would make it would with the 32 year old single dad after that sh*t storm. I never thought Chris and Des would make it. JoJo and Jordan have surprised the poop out of me. Sometimes the scandal and drama can bring these couples together in an “us against them” kind of way.
All this being said, I give Lauren and Arie a solid 9 months.
8-9 yrs ago SM media tabloids and forums were exploding with the never before switch in Bach history. It was difficult to keep up with rumours and fact. RS even retracted his spoilers to confirm some of the info he reported were false. Everyone blamed Jason, for going behind Melissa's back, where in fact he didn't and IMO Melissa knew about the break up because Tye was waiting for her. Jason was not allowed to contact Molly and had to wait till they got it on film. There were questionable phone calls/texts on her part as well. There was one phone call to Molly from Jason, as we know there was apparently was one phone call to Lauren from Arie. Melissa was going to be the next lead, however we knew later, why she wasn't. She did get a DWTS gig because of an injury to another cast member, funny how things happen for a reason.
The break up was filmed, as was the attempt to reconcile with Molly. I'm not blaming anyone for catching the break up and reconciling on film because then IMO I'd have to blame them all for going on the show to begin with. IMO leads can only bartar so much, it all goes back to that dotted line and storyboards so MF can rub his hands in glee on his way to the bank.
IMO there are far to many similarities this time around as well. One couple have built a sweet family life from what I can see, the other couple is yet TBD just like the past 21 seasons. Whether it be for 3 months 6 months 1 yr, this couple IMHO aren't any different than the past couples.

If there hadn't been a switch and he was still with Becca, would they have made it. Just curious.

Personally, I think it would’ve depended on Arie’s willingness to work on a relationship outside of the show. I believe Becca would have put in the effort and but also would not have backed down when she felt she wasn’t being treated right. I’m not sure Arie is really at the point that he wants to work on a relationship. I think when he gets bored or the women starts to question him he breaks up with them. I think Becca would have questioned him and wanted to work on things more than he would have. JMO
