I just realized that too ! That’s an interesting observation from the family. Arie has a type, but shouldn’t marry. If it’s Becca , then no worries. He exchanged for the right girl,
If it’s Lauren, then this is interesting . What would make either of them a “type”? Can’t just be looks because why would being a petite blond be something you shouldn’t marry ? I know Sydney spent time and holidays with Arie’s family just a few months before bringing Lauren home. Do they think Lauren is just the type that Arie falls for? I am scratching my head over this one .  
Interesting imo.

It could also mean Arie likes strong women as his type but in marriage , it wouldn’t work for him because Arie might not want to be challenged.

IMO it's hard to predict in what direction a tease like this one is going to go when they end the tease with a question mark. IMO they do this just to draw viewers in to get the answer to the tease. But IMO the most interesting part of the episode description is this:

This seems like almost a role reversal compared to past episodes where it's been Lauren who's been the fearful one and Becca the more confident one. But as I pointed out in a post yesterday here Lauren changed during the FD date - IMO the result of things she and Arie discussed in private. Sienne mentioned in this interview that Lauren was sweet and fun early on but fell for Arie around the time of their first 1-1 (or was it their Fort Lauderdale 1-1 time?) and became quiet and more introverted because of how her feelings were growing. At the time of the MTP Lauren had a different outlook on the relationship so it's not a big stretch to me to think she was more outgoing and charming then than we've seen her to date.

I also remember on Ben's season that Ben broke down talking with Lauren's sister about his feelings for Lauren and that sort of won the sister over. From what I've seen I don't think Lauren is a crier but she has shown real tears when her emotions for Arie come close to the surface, so if she does something similar with Arie's mother it could make quite an impact. I know that for me as a parent it certainly would - I want nothing more for my child than to be with some he loves and who loves him. With that most other problems can be "fixed" but without that - there's nothing to fix.

I guess we have to wait and see what happens here.

Just watched a fan video of Arie and Lauren. In my opinion, in it, Lauren looks vibrant, open and happy and her affect is anything but flat or dull. While I have certainly seen a guarded/worried/fearful facial expression, I don't have the same opinion as many that her facial expression the majority of the season has been expression-less

@sanlee088 Yes, I do think that while they apparently liked both girls per the press release, they thought Lauren was who he’d usually go after while Becca was different from his type. On Jimmy Kimmel, Arie was asked how you make a decision when you love both women. Arie said one of the things he did was take his family’s opinion into account.

@Lucas15 I just asked what I did in my post because of the bolded in @Ash2214 post. And how he did take his family’s opinion into account. Also the fact that he chose Becca and many are wondering why, when he may have wanted Lauren more (and eventually went back to her.) perhaps his family thought she was the better fit. Just guessing though! But yes, we will see! It’s finally the weekend. We only have a couple of days left! Lol

Thanks for the clarification. If indeed Arie was swayed towards Becca because his family felt she was the better choice it sort of underscores why how parents deal with their chidren's relationships is a hot button for me. Had I listened to my family I would have been cheated out of the best 3 decades of my life; fortunately I had the sense to make my own choice - as it appears Arie ultimately did too. A couple of days more and we'll be able to see how this all pans out - and maybe I can get my normal life back too.

Agreed!

Family and friends are usually good at setting people up with ones who are good on paper. Blind dates for example are set ups between 2peole that are perceived to be compatible ... with their best interests at heart. BUT ... one thing they can’t do is add the “spark” ...
The important ingredient to take it to the next level. Sometimes there’s no rhyme or reason to why we feel what we feel ... it just happens. Arie chose an awesome girl to n Becca ...she’s the one Id have tried to set him up with ...she just isn’t the one that he feels that certain something with. No bad people here ... just human emotions in action. I feel bad for Becca, but better he ended as soon as he did, going through the motions just to get through the taping of the ATFR and pretend to be happy would be worse.

If this is true, then it's going to be hard for Arie to garner much sympathy and/or understanding. I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt because I went into this season really liking him and don't dislike him even now. I've been very disappointed in how he did it and posting the pic of himself that he sent to his "special someone" or talking about how happy he is now without (seemingly) any empathy for Becca has really turned me off. It's not that he can't be happy but why not scale it down just a bit until the ATFR show?

Probably because the show wants him to amp things up. It causes talk etc. 
He's happy, he may not get what he's doing, but he's doing it and the show is loving it.

I don’t find Lauren emotionless. Rather I think her resting expression is serious to stern. I don’t think that means she is either of those. We used to comment on Andi’s testing b**** face. For Lauren, she just has a more serious countenance. 

I don’t think it equates to emotions or if she is fun, just her natural look. JMO.

I had a great workshop with three incredible female leaders in December. They were equally enthusiastic and supportive of the workshop, but their three resting facial expressions were all very different. The one with the most serious countenance is the one who actually gushed the most on her enjoyment of the day. JME.

Lauren just has a stern/serious resting face much like her Mom. She looks concerned in this SC. That said, Lauren really has a beautiful smile and if you want proof, just take a look on her IG page. Jmo.

Yeah , I wasn’t a fan of her resting face that through editing kept showing us. But she does smile and no denying how pretty she is.
