They will both make that decision if they really want to make it work. It will be a give and take on both ends.

I'm gonna come out of lurking for a second here.

Based on Vanessa's pre-taping interview, she said she was willing to move. IMO she's asking him these questions to see what his answers will be. She's trying to see "if i'm giving up my career and family for him, would he do the same for me?" Just my two cents.

I think it should be expected that both Vanessa and Nick should compromise for this relationship to work. Sure Vanessa went on an American dating show but that does not mean to me she should have expected she would have to move to the US.

The lead, in either the bachelor or bachelorette is put in a position of power, where the contestants are at their mercy. When the show ends and there is an actual relationship - I don't care where that person comes from they are equal partners in the relationship and as partnership they should decide where to live. I feel that where they decide should make sense for both parties.

I am from Canada...if I were Vanessa I wouldn't move to LA, because there is no family/friends/career prospects for me and there really aren't any roots for Nick either. Now if Nick lived in Chicago would I consider, yes. Because he has roots there, friends, family etc. and for me it is a quick plane ride or slightly longer drive to family/home and has good career options for me personally.

I don't think Nick should be expected to move, and I do not think Vanessa should be expected to move. I think they both should make equal sacrifices if this is going to work.

I don't think it should be the F1 or it should be the lead. IMO the decision should be made based on their plans for the future. A lot of people that are together don't live any where near their parents and family. It's about jobs, raising a family, who is more flexible, what makes more sense.

Looking back at the married couples from this franchise, Molly moved Catherine moved, Des moved, Ashley commuted to complete her schooling, they all re-established themselves or made sacrifices, IMO when it comes to employment and living arrangements.

Off topic but what has been bugging me this season is Nick's use of his IG. I know he means well but this season's posting of every date with the women and his comments about them on every post is annoying to me. I think it also played a factor with everyone thinking he doesn't like anyone. I know to him it's to throw everyone off but if I were the F1, I would be slightly annoyed. I don't know maybe its just me. I just hope no one does this type of IG posting for future seasons. I know Ben H did it for some pics but they were literally nothing compared to Nick's. JMO

I love that he does this as it gives the viewers a little more insight into what he was thinking. Sure it takes a little more creativity to pick out his slight bias towards Vanessa but it makes it all the more fun!

I don't mind the IG's Nick is posting. He's respecting each one individually. If the F1 has a problem with that, IMO they are doomed already! That's the past, the F1 is the future.

Ugh. I don't like Nicks answer. IMO it is ignorant. It sounds like a very stereotypic answer from someone who has never traveled (without a TV show) or lived abroad. IMO Vanessa has a much stronger global understanding, is very close to her family and has a wonderful job. Montreal is a beautiful artistic city. If Nick can't leave America then New York would be a better option than LA if by some outside chance they stay together. Maybe a split between Canada and USA like the last woman he proposed too and her fiance do.  However.... IMO if Nick does not want to leave the LA lifestyle....I can't imagine them lasting longterm. IMO

I honestly don't think it was something he could have avoided. Didn't Ben do the same as well? I don't remember. I'm also pretty sure that Lauren must have received some hate as well. Especially with a lot of fans who thought Ben should have chosen Jojo. There's sadly always going to be people sending hate towards the F1 as well as every other contestant.

Nick is an idiot. Canada rocks, end of story.

@Cila51290 I understand, and that is so true.

However, for me, SM shouldn't mean anything when it comes to relationships.  The successful relationship IMO should consist of 100% trust and love. With those two things, it shouldn't  matter who says what, who likes what SM pic or comment. What rumours are in the rag magz, if he or she liked or didn't like a pic.

The F1 should be confident in the relationship if the lead is proving that they are the only one. If SM hate comes between them, IMO there's no relationship.

I have experienced that kind of love and trust. I was with someone for 14 yrs. There's no way that man would ever cheat on me or treat me other than a princess. We were the talk of the town because we each left another relationship to be together. Neither one of us cared. Our friends were still friends and our family still supported both of us. Those that gossiped didn't matter to us, who cares what their opinion is IMHO.
