Nick Viall - Bachelor 21 - Episode 8 Feb 20 - *Sleuthing Spoilers*

Nick did a fabulous job talking to fathers. Although he talked to all three about getting engaged, Vanessa's talk was different - he actually mentioned them being madly in love with each other.

If Nick was not really interested in anyone else, getting into a deep discussion would not really matter is my opinion.
I don't think it ever was "there" with the other 3. Corinne was like a Bella to him, a little sister and the Rachel and Raven, imo, friends along for the ride and vying for the next season's lead.

It had to be because they wanted more black men to apply than the pool they already had gotten. Btw, Rachel's family made such a big deal of race that it kinda surprised me, especially since they already have a white sil.

I don't think THEY cared, but dating a black woman comes with a unique set of challenges and they wanted to make sure Nick was aware of that and willing to have a frank conversation about it. He handled it really well and didn't do the whole "I don't see color!" BS that only people coming from privilege can say. IMO.

@Lara I prefer to see it not as coming from people of privilege, but people who might be innocently ignorant as they can not comprehend.
You don't have to be of another color to experience this.
In fact, sometimes the more ignorant and innocently ignorant things come from people not knowing the person is different at all because they are the same color.
A great book I just finished reading and quite eye opening was "Small, Great Things" by Jodi Picoult.

I can't even hate on Andi anymore. Especially after Josh in Paradise. She was kinda self deprecating in her book too. I think she's become a little more self aware over the years. She's totally tongue in cheek "that's so Andi."

Plus now I think it's hilarious that #25 may likely come haunt her in her city, with his fiancé.

My dislike for her has gone down over the years. She does seem to have become more self-aware and kinda grown up (a bit ) since her time on the show IMO. Even her interactions with Nick in real-time seem to be genuine now IMO. All JMO.

And just like their first 1 on 1, Nick posts the more emotional and sweet comment/picture, while Vanessa went more for the goofy and now look at their different comments.

Btw, kind of a big coincidence that they post the exact same picture since we know they get many others from those dates as evidenced by the scrapbook the students were working on. Has Vanessa resurfaced as all other than just posting this picture?

As for Andi, I actually don't dislike her at all. I'm mostly indifferent. I just enjoy how much others can't stand her and the simmering dislike she inspires in so many. It's just fun for me to read.

I'm still waiting for Andi to grow up. She tweets a pic of herself while filming, then tweets a bachelor related tweet as the epi starts, when she never tweeted all season.

I found it so funny how Nick was so tongue tied with V's family. The salesman in him went out the door. It was easy breezy with the other three women's HTD. He kept talking up a storm. Then V's family comes along and he's so tense and nervous of making a good impression.

I agree. Vanessa is overly confident, to the point she brushes off the potential connection others may have with Nick. She thinks what she and Nick have is that special. Because of this she comes off slightly entitled. And I totally get how that rubs some people the wrong way.

I don't even care though.

We aren't looking for the best person here. This isn't Miss Congeniality. We are looking for the best person for Nick. And read that top sentence again, but sub in Nick for Vanessa. It still works. Nick = Vanessa, Vanessa=Nick. Both polarizing. Both a little controversial. Both with similar cray families, both overly emotional. Both super confident, not only in themselves but in their connection with the lead. Both vulnerable. Both super hurt in the past by some great love that made their mothers overly concerned for their well being. Both wanting to get into entertainment at some point, both educated with careers to fall back on as well. Both urban. Both perceived as slightly entitled. Neither one there to make friends. Both falling hard.

Yeah, opposites attract. But more often then not, people are most attracted to and marry their mirror image. These two are the same. I can't even believe how similar.
