I think it's a very real possibility that he gave her every reason to feel that way. Maybe she should've kept it to herself a little more, but as Nick himself knows, your first go around in this franchise can throw you for a loop. Considering how obvious it is that they've left out a ton of moments between these two, I'm not going to solely blame Vanessa for feeling like she and Nick had something special/different. JMO!

I totally don't blame her for thinking she had it in the bag. I'm sure Nick had told her that and she had reason to feel confident. But, to think he doesn't even CARE for anyone else? That's thinking way too highly of yourself and treating everyone else like they're inferior, IMO. There's never been a lead who hasn't at least genuinely cared for multiple contestants. Even the ones that always knew who their F1 was usually developed feelings for other people. To think normal rules and circumstances don't apply to you...kind of seems entitled, IMO. I've always thought she was an Andi 2.0 and this reinforces that for me.

Every episode has been a to-be-continued.

I'm starting to wonder if this is going to be continued next season.

This is very annoying.

Production, specifically, each cast person's handler works all season long with each cast person reaffirming how much they have going with the lead. They are constantly in their cast person's ear telling them what to do in order to move "their" relationship forward etc. and manipulating them left and right that if "you" do this it will__________, if you don't do this it all __________.
The lead then will encourage the cast person to focus solely on their relationship.
As an audience how many times have we been shown this with the lead not being happy about the cast focusing on someone else or tattling on someone else vs enjoying their date time?
So, even though we know there are other players involved the person actually involved is constantly bombarded to "ignore" this.

@kristen Baldwin you make me I am referring to the photo of the Father and the serious look he has on the face, which Maddy brought over.

OH my gosh, this made me LOL!!!

Considering Vanessa never got a GDR or FIR (so no explicit validation IMO), there have to be things which were left on the cutting room floor which made her confident enough to say that. IMO When her father told her that Nick had asked other dads as well for the blessing, IMO She probably started to question if Nick was also giving reassurance to other girls the way he was giving her. She said those feelings out loud in an ITM. If that's entitlement so be it. #GoVanessa.
