Vanessa Grimaldi - Bachelor 21 - *Sleuthing Spoilers* #3

I just want to see him prove RS and all the h@ters wrong. Aka - he's not ALL about the fame and he's in really deep with Vanessa. So he puts all that behind (cause come on, he's 36 and how much further "fame" is he really gonna get long term in Hollywood at this point anyway? I think being the Bachelor will be the pinnacle of that success.) I just see so much real, organic intimacy and passion between them. I'm TOTALLY on board with the Ashley and JP comparisons. If it's that real and that special... go forth and move for your strong, educated, interesting woman. Let her keep her career and find what makes you happy in her city Nick. He has literally nothing holding him to LA. 

If Nick does Dancing, unless Vanessa takes another LOA from her job (second time in one year) or quits mid school year, she can't be by his side anyway. Go to real life, kids. Nicky, you will get more notoriety and kudos in a successful relationship anyway. Outside of LA.

Vanessa is the type that lights up a room IMO. Still can't help feeling that she may be too good for Nick, but hope I am proven wrong.

I totally agree with you @sosleepy in wanting Nick to prove RS and the h@ters wrong!!!! And ultimately that would be best done by moving out of the spotlight and sharing a real life relationship. I'm just also cheering for a short DWTS detour. Who says they couldn't have a wildly successful relationship in the spotlight for a little while? (Besides RS) They both look very well suited for it. :

When it comes to "too good for someone" line ... I draw it when a person has a choice to make, has a good thing going on with the other to actually having a real shot at succeeding and making it work, and chooses someone else (who doesn't make them a better person) or noone at all, out of convenience (and fear of having to be accountable).
Nick supposedly chose Vanessa, so to me, that's settled. The work has to be done now by both. to be good for each other.

I really like Vanessa but in no way do I think she's too good for Nick, not even close. IMO she will be lucky to have him pick her because Nick is a rare breed, IMO, who knows who he is. Most people don't, IMO and there's something to be said about that because it allows for a real and authentic connection and Nick is, if nothing else, a man who values his family, is an excellent communicator/listener, is loyal, and is authentically himself and real -- and not the kind of authentic/real that some claim when they are whining or complaining on SM but authentic and real as in being himself, all of it, owning it, and doing so in a way that IMO is admirable and mature and allows for self-growth. He's open-minded, open-hearted, doesn't hold a grudge, is fiercely loyal to his friends and family and wants a true partner through life where they can be equals and grow together (and he invites that growth through healthy communication) and to me, those are all admirable qualities to find in someone and are quite rare IMO and why I think Vanessa could be a great match and partner for Nick because she seems to embody many of the things he himself advocates for. JMO

According to Vanessa herself, she has shared reasons on camera why Nick is good for her:
Intro vid - he loves his family and isn't afraid to show vulnerability
M&g - when talking in a group of girls she said 'He's a man"
1-1  plane - in VO before they board she said he makes her feel calm (she is very energized so I think she means he calms her down) and in the vehicle to the date she says he gives her that feeling she hasn't had in a few years
1-1 dinner -  she tells him she likes the way he interacts with his mom, that respecting family is important.  She also thanks him for taking care of her when she was sick.

I'm excited to see Vanessa express her frustration with the process. To me it's real. Yes they know what they signed up for but that doesn't mean that once you're in it, you're not free to have feelings. I think it always hits those who are actually feeling something with the lead the most. Vanessa doesn't want the drama, she wants Nick. She's taking this seriously and could care less about the show aspect which I appreciate. She may be taking this man home in a week and is supposed to be engaged in less than a month, but for the past two weeks she's had to deal with ghosts, a volleyball game for his time and the Corrine show.

Nick looks scared to death at Vanessa's reaction. The producers are definitely playing up the will she leave or leave him stranded at the end concept. I bet they even made him think there was a chance she would leave or say no to his proposal just to get such emotional reactions from him at the end.

My view differs slightly.  I think Nick is a quick study and this being his 4th experience he would be too "in the know" of producer tactics.  Instead, I imagine producers would work the more pliable cast. Most obvious is Corinne and her propensity for inhibition.  She didn't bring whip cream or a bouncy castle in her suitcase  (Ok, maybe Raquel packed the whip cream and trench coat).  
Producers would know that Nick just rides the wave when he meets people, sits back to see how they reveal themselves.  Knowing that, producers could easily influence a few to move in certain directions that producers know would make Vanessa, for example, uncomfortable or question. It could be subtle things like Vanessa questioning why Taylor is let go while possibly behind the scenes producers have been feeding Taylor "whip cream & lies" about Corinne bad mouthing her thus making Taylor focus on Corinne as a nemesis and sabatoge her own length of stay.  It's a form of game of thrones where producers play masters of illusion.

I think it always hits those who are actually feeling something with the lead the most.

It's funny that she's getting judged, even to the extent of maybe not being right for Nick and yet this same Nick is the one who said that's exactly why he didn't buy people like Robby and Chase's feelings for JoJo.

Because according to him if these guys were genuinely in love or at the least felt deeply for JoJo, at that late stage of the season they wouldn't be caught up in a bromance and being best friends.

As he put it, he's not saying that they had to be mean to each other or be enemies but genuine human emotion dictates that if two people are both in love or deeply interested in the same person, jealousies and insecurities will rear its head.
