Ben Higgins - Lauren Bushnell - Bachelor 20 - Discussion - #5

Well Ben is flying somewhere today too. Either to Mexico for Lauren's bday (but she previously said it was a girls trip) or back home.

This relationship is so weird to me but I don't relate or even understand either of them individually so it's hard for me to tell where the relationship stands, in terms of whether or not they'll break up. All I know is I find this relationship ugly. I don't know either of them personally, all I know is the snippets they show me, and I just don't feel the love between these two. Or affection.

I was watching a documentary a while back where the man making it was discussing the triangular theory of love developed by Dr Robert Sternberg. The three pillars are Passion, Intimacy, and Commitment. The only one I get from these two is commitment.

IMO I think it's a little strange they may not be together on Lauren's Birthday but saying that maybe they have plans over the weekend instead, Valentine's Day is coming up and Ben's Birthday is coming up too... I don't know I guess each for their own.

IMO I truly believe they love each other and not on a verge of a break up. iMO the reason why there tends to be so much speculation regarding this couple In particular is because they barely post/update about their relationship on social media (once in a while they do but I think they do it only for fans)... IMO Ben is very private, most times no one would even know where he is for days if he hasn't been spotted or tweeted (we all know his location bar on twitter gives it away).

IMO in terms of intimacy and passion, how does one gauge if another couple have that? IMO those two elements should be private and shouldn't be posted on social media for everyone to chime in with their opinions.

This may be a weird thought, but I've always wondered how much they like each other. I'm not doubting that they love each other, I just never got the feeling that base of liking one another was ever there. JMO Basically, I wonder if they have a friendship besides a romantic relationship.

If there isn't a base of friendship then how are they not miserable? Can't imagine living with someone in that case. Away from family and friends. That sounds like torture.

Well, it seems like they don't spend all that much time in that home together, so how can they really know if they're miserable or happy there together? IMO

When they were filming the show, they were constantly on the move filming, traveling for press, traveling to film the show and in these two months since the show and press ended Lauren has been on more vacations without Ben then I will go on in the next few years IMO, it's kind of difficult to figure out how happy you are when this is what their life has been.

Yeah. In the most recent snaps they seemed happy and relaxed. I noticed Ben's been posing for snaps! Less of a grump. I'm sure being back at work has been good for him. Maybe travelling and doing promo stuff for the blog keeps Lauren happy too, and less anxious about wedding stuff.

IMO it may seem to some like they don't have a friendship (IMO I think they do if not their relationship would be such a chore) but in the absence of social media we know absolutely nothing about them or their relationship so it's difficult to gauge.

IMO going by some of the interviews such as some of the ET, people and even the recent Juliet litman they have some good stories together and seem to be friends or building a friendship. IMo That's why I think the bachelor concept is weird and the success rate is so low.. IMO the bachelor show tends to create a love bubble, blow the couple out on their merry way and it's up to the said couple to go back and redevelop a proper root for their relationship.

I remember during a Facebook live before the finale of HEA someone mentioned that 'Ben looks like he hates Lauren', I can't remember verbatim what he said but something along the lines of how bizzare that would be, and said he didn't hate her and they both found it hilarious someone would asked that.

IMO it must also be a lot of pressure being a Couple post the bachelor ... gosh IMO it's probably even more difficult than average relationships especially because everyone is watching you like a hawk and very ready to pounce.

Yeah, if someone goes on one or more reality television shows, they open themselves up to criticism since they're willingly putting themselves out to the public IMO. I think they all get questioned at one point or another. Truthfully, whether it's a couple from this show or in "really life" I would be questioning them for not being together on milestones like Christmas or a birthday, but that's just me.

IMO, Ben and Lauren are doing what works for them. I speak as an Aquarius (lauren) and only child (ben), I enjoy my time away from the people I am constanly surrounded. With them both living away from their families i don't see anything strange about them spending Christmas individually. As far as the girls bday trip, she can celebrate with Ben at a different time. She has sacrified a lot to be with him already.

Let me say, personally, if he had planned something for me that was better--I would have taken his offer. Hint hint.
