Ben Higgins - Lauren Bushnell - Bachelor 20 - Discussion - #4

I've said this before, but I don't think spending time apart is that big a deal or a red flag, especially when there are reasons for it. However, what made me raise an eyebrow was how they seemed to hang out separately even at the event they were both at. I know if I was about to step out in front of lots of press I would want to do it with my SO, not on my own as if I were one of the singles. It took ages for the ET reporter to even get them in an interview together. I also noticed that after they posed for pics as a couple and Amanda was being interviewed, Lauren basically just walked off and Ben was left looking around like what do I do now? Obviously Lauren had a lot of friends at the event, but I was a bit surprised by the fact that they seemed to arrive in front of the cameras separately and were interviewed separately at length, Ben twice even. I mean where's the team spirit?

Regarding the bold, I know I won't. I am neutral towards Ben, dislike Lauren as well as them as a couple since the start. The only fault I personally see in Ben in this relationship is, he has put Lauren on a pedestal from the getgo. However, as we all know, no one is perfect. That is how I interpret Ben's attitude changes since filming ended.

IMO, Ben saw Lauren as the perfect goddess during filming, and was not able to see beyond the bubble. When reality set in, I do think Ben sees some other sides of Lauren, which probably are not as perfect/sweet as he thought she is. And now, he probably realizes they should take more time to get to know each other better before making any commitment.

As for Lauren, I've said enough about her in the past. She still looks phony to me, nothing more to add.

They're just acting like a classier Josh and Andi at Chris' premiere IMO. Down to them going to dinner separately with single guys and girls.

I don't view any snaps, or follow anyone, only what I read here. They've been together for a year now. They've been non stop from day one.

Maybe it's a good thing they are just enjoying their lives and trying to be somewhat normal.

There have been other couples who have lasted as long or longer and ended up splitting, so it's no big shock if they do go their separate ways.

If I had just broken up with Josh I would be swinging from the chandeliers and thanking my lucky stars and anyone else who walked by for finally coming to my senses. I could go on and on but this is not that thread. This isn't a break up--this was being given a new lease on life.

So Ben is at a bar so I guess if they were close to split up I dont think he would be there

What? I am not following that. I don't think this would have anything to do with a break up, but that's me.

I don't think one thing has anything to do with another, honestly. People go into bars for all kinds of reasons.

I personally don't blame Lauren for wanting to be in California right now. It is winter! I know that I wish I could be somewhere warmer right now. I also think that it is normal for her to want to spend some time with Amanda -- it is not like they have had much time to see each other since Lauren moved. Glad that Lauren is getting some friend time. Maybe this will give Ben a chance to really miss her, too. I read the eonline article from the premiere party where they were talking about getting a dog -- they both said they wanted different breeds. I thought that was interesting. JMO

A lot of assumptions, speculations and opinions can be always be made from little things.

My opinion from what is publicly shown is that Lauren and Ben intended to return to Denver the next day (as per interview by E.T. where Lauren said 'we head back to Denver tomorrow hopefully'). Then during the night, they all met and caught up, then Lauren's plan changed. I think she decided to stay a few more days to support her friend Amanda, while Ben headed home the next day.

Would have been uncomfortable for Ben to stay as they met up with Amanda's children (which Ben met in the Bachelor before) and Josh had met Amanda's children so it could have been confusing for her kids.

After this the activities they did together were just the two of them. Hence, I am speculating that Amanda and Josh intended in the new year to have a getaway and had booked and paid for a hotel for the two of them for a few days. However, as they were no longer together, Amanda asked Lauren if she wanted to go instead. Hence the stay at a hotel, spa and sushi dinner, and other activities completed together (e.g. Dave and Busters and rolling around in a giant inflatable balloon ball). Plus Amanda saying "maybe I'll meet a guy at Dave and Busters".

I love their friendship and support for each other. Lauren would be a really good friend to have. It's a lovely and great way to use the time to catch up with a friend and for Amanda, to take her mind away from what has happened.

It does look like they are having fun doing all these activities together.

This of course is all just an assumption from my viewpoint.

@aurora I think there is big trouble in paradise for ben and lauren just my opinion time will tell
