Bachelorette Canada - Season 1 - Jasmine Lorimer - Episode Discussion - *Sleuthing - Spoilers* #3

How far apart are the towns for these home town dates.  Why is one dressed in almost summer clothes and the other dressed so warmly.

**edited** He has gotten the first rose in every ceremony for atleast 5-6 weeks straight now. She is really into him and I can't see a universe where jasmine's mom and sister end up liking kevin over mikhel.

We shall see though i guess, btw Jessica haisinger reposted that pic of mik and jas kissing on the bike(the one that mikhel and jessica both took down within hours of posting it on monday) on her instagram. I just have a hard time believing that mikhel would have posted that pic in the first place if he didn't win.

I think the only reason why Mikhel and Jasmine were dressed "warmly" was because they're riding on a motorcycle. At least I, personally, wouldn't be wearing shorts going for a ride.

At some point during her itm she did look like she was freezing

Because he is too much in our face on the show and on social media.
it's never a good sign in this franchise.
It will be like they served the whole season on a silver platter since their one on one.
On a side note, right now Jas has a stronger and deeper connection with KW from what we can see. She is touched by him, want to take down his walls,has unexplicable chemistry with him, she shared her personal story with him annnnd she is keeping him despite everything (whereas we have seen her let other people go for less than that).
Of course i'm talking about what the edit is showing, especially the part regarding KW and his family negative lights.

Hope Jasmine does not pull an Andi by sleeping with the final two then lying to the final one that she did because it will be found out . If she wanted to sleep with both I hope she follows Kaitlyn's lead by telling them it is an important part of a relationship and she had to test compatibility. I hope for their sake as well as her own she sends F2 home before sleep over, we'll see if they let her.

Another reason for the difference in clothing is because during May there were some very chilly days, and other beautiful hot days. The first two weeks of May the temperature was between 9C and 20C but the last week and few days of May it got as high as 26 27 28 and 29C.

Well, I think I just sleuthed that they filmed Mikhel's date first or at least Kevin's was filmed last when it was warmer.

It very well could be that Jasmine's mom & sister like Mikhel a lot. I hope they consider who Jasmine likes vs who they like when determining who is a better fit for her.

I expect we'll see lots of SM from the show in support of Mikhel, just as we did for Mike. My theory is similar to some others here where the show is using SM to boost the relationship that needs support. IMO it was clear last night that Kevin & Jasmine's romantic story speaks for itself.

Having said that, now that we're down to two men, production may opt to go with a more even approach of "will Jasmine pick Mikhel or Kevin" in their promotion of the show.

I don't think so. If she was overanalyzing about anything then it was Mike IMO. The nice and perfect on paper guy she tried to convince herself to feel something for because his stability could balance out her free spirit and blah blah blah. It was obvious to me on the 2-on-1 she was trying to talk herself into being into him when she said it wasn't necessarily a bad thing that he was a bit more regimented than she is. Honestly there was never any wow moment for me where I really felt she could pick him like with the other two guys. The biggest evidence for me that she wasn't into Mike was how sexless she was with him and how passionate she was with the other two guys. If she was so into Mike then why wasn't she all that physical with him? For most women a strong physical connection follows a strong emotional connection, so why didn't that happen with Mike? Why did he have to ask if she even liked him that late in the game? Why little to no progression with them in between him getting the FIR and his 1-on-1 date? The simplest answer for me is that she just wasn't all that into him and he was always behind KW and Mikhel and if you have to ask if someone even likes you then the answer is probably no. All JMO.

I've always found the subject of the disconnect between what girls believe they should want vs. what they actually want fascinating bc it's such a universal theme IMO.
Countless romcoms have explored this & most of the time in those romcoms, the "bad boy"/one who makes the girl feel "alive" wins in the end despite the usual series of obstacles. The J/KW/Mike (&Mikhel to some extent) storyline is such a textbook case of this to me.

Mikhel's family wins for being the funniest. Between his dad & when Mikhel says "we're having Indian food because we're Indian." Even the music used during this date reminded me of a comedy.

I think Mikhel's talk with his dad really drove him to think over the whole thing more thoroughly and perhaps he was beginning to see the writing on the wall at that RC, especially after Jasmine let Mike go.

I wasn't gaga over KW at first either, but I must say I've been softening quite a bit towards him lately. I think a large part of it is due to how both he and J handled their post-fight date - like Sharleen commented, they both did not hold on to grudges & instead were in full-on relationship progressing mode IMO. I agree that their connection is leaps and bounds above any of the other relationships - another reason why I'm now liking them together is because she seems truly excited to be around him & you can feel that excitement as a viewer IMO. I also like how vulnerable he was with her on Warrior Field - KW confessing that he's always felt "not enough" despite having such an alpha reminded me so much of Jordan telling JoJo how he's had to swallow a lot of disappointment in his life despite people seeing him as entitled.

Personally it makes no difference to me. I don't compare other franchises, obviously it didn't work this time around for Mike being the F1. IMO, I as well as others by some of the opinions posted, had him at F3 for the longest time. I kept waiting for that F1 moment, because the spoiler was out there that he was the F1, but not having a favourite helps to take what I see at face value. Same with Kyle, no way was he F3 IMO. To me a big part of sleuthing is all about chemistry and body language of the lead. Mike's one on one date convinced me. She was all over Kevin when they were on the football field, she didn't touch the other two guys during their HTD's. She looked sad when Mikhel told her he's falling in love with her, and she still didn't know at that point how Mike felt about her.

Process of elimination, KevinP was not going to be the F3, neither was Benoit. Chemistry all along was with Mikhel and Kevin. During HTD it was obvious to me, the lack of chemistry between her and Mikhel dropped down, way down several notches.

I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop on the J/Mike chemistry thing - there was so much discussion of a "hidden chemistry/connection edit" that I kept expecting something to come out to showcase some great connection, but that never happened IMO. Their "obstacles" (Winnipeg, Mike being "too stable" which was somehow also used as a positive thing) also always seemed so flimsy to me & made no sense in terms of actual romantic obstacles.

I was surprised to see the rapid drop in chem with Mikhel, but IMO it helped to show how much stronger the J/KW connection was by contrast.

I also totally agree re. sleuthing without a favourite - it's definitely helped me personally look at things really objectively & see a clearer picture.

Nah. I think there's probably some truth to most edits (I do think KW's jealousy was for real) but a lot of the time it's exaggerated and played up and some of these folks like Drew are obviously acting for the camera and their next 15 minutes. There's plenty of examples in the US series of contestants who got a good edit one season and then the next season they get a bad edit and vice-versa and viewers change their minds on that person all because of an edit. Villains can become beloved (Nick Viall) and the beloved can become villains (Josh Murray). I've lost count how many times viewers have turned on the lead because they turned out not to be what TPTB was selling the first time around.

All JMO.

Nick is IMO a textbook case of how a certain storyline can affect general public opinion - he was the "outsider" in the Bette seasons vs. the "hero"/"wise older brother" on BIP.
