Bachelor 21 - Nick Viall - General Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers* #3

I don't find Nick sexy. There's sexy and being sensual and then there's Nick and Corrine.

If you don't mind sharing, what specifically did you find unappealing when meeting him in person?  I only ask as it seems others have said they felt more positive about him after meeting him in person?

That's because Nick isn't into Corinne....no matter how naked she gets.

Sexy, sensual Nick is night one Nick just staring at Vanessa and the guy in the third episode nuzzling her hello and holding the barf bag...all with their clothes firmly on.

We all have different taste because I find Nick to be hot, sexy, senusual , intelligent, witty, and caring . I think he has the whole package but I have been I fan since he walked out that limo on MeAndi's season. JMO

This show is what it is....its not Richie Cunningham deciding if he's going to date Marcia Brady, Laura Ingall or MaryEllen Walton.... its about average guys going on a heavily produced national television show with the hopes of having a great time, making a name for themselves and maybe , just maybe , they might find a forever girl. Its earlyin the process, he hasnt had much time to form any real bonds so he's letting the producers get what they want out of him for good tv. For me, the big picture is that he let Corinne go before FS dates... which tells me she was the producers choice but he drew the line and didnt want the intimacy with her that could come with a FS night. He kept 3 quality women, which speaks volumes for me anyway. Will he last with his F1? Hes probably got same odds as the rest did, but I think he chose based on the " right reasons" and will, in the end, give the audience a decent season.

Considering RS' poor opinion of Nick, it says a lot that he has stated that nothing happened and that Nick sent her back. I listened to his last podcast and he was very clear and firm about that.

I just have to laugh at the SM comments regarding Nick on this show comparing him to Luke and Chase, both of whom have photos of themselves with women's hands on their crotch and that was not something they did because of a show - that's what they did in their personal lives! So yeah, I am not buying that those guys were some clean cut or better option and especially not when comparing their excessive self-promotion (and I don't think it is because Nick is smarter since none of the other guys from other seasons were as over-the-top with their SM self-promotion as JoJo's guys were IMO). 

Honestly, I think TPTB did the right thing choosing Nick and not because of any puppeteering or any such thing. This show is what it is, they're all wanting to be on TV and whatnot, but I for one am enjoying seeing Nick's story arc and season and am glad they chose him. I had zero interest in any of the other options and would have skimmed watching it just like I did the past recent leads. With Nick I am actually interested to see how it all pans out for him and I separate that from just "the show" and scripted stuff which I don't take seriously at all. It's like getting to see what happens in the final book in a quartet story or movie and with a lead that I actually am invested in - that's rare for me. So I am looking forward to seeing the rest of Nick's journey - the good, the bad, the ugly - all of it makes it more real to me for a show that's anything but, IMO.

Same as you @AllAboutLove, I only watch when I am invested in the lead or contestant.  E.g. I watched the seasons of very first TB and Ette: Baldwin and Tessa/ Trista and Ryan.  I also saw several episodes from Jilian's, Ben F's, Jake's, Ashley/JP, Des/Chris.  I watched Sean/Cat season (fan girl'd on the love story there and Cat), JPab (mainly for Sharleen and then Claire-gate), then Andi (the whole season because I did like her at first and then for the first time ever, I rooted for the F2. First time ever, I joined a #team). Also watched Chris' season because of this forum and so I started liking Kaitlyn as season progressed. I watched Katlyn's season (because of Nick) until it started going crazy (didn't want to see Nick get broken-hearted again so I dropped off early).  So continuing the pattern, I am watching and posting here.  I agree with most that the show is an investment of our time. I'm just happy I'm investing it on Nick finding his love (who will reciprocate). I like complicated characters because there's just more of them to talk about than with leads who are squeaky clean.

Yes it is what it is and I agree they all go on this show for fame, and all engage in some self promotion, some more than others. I was a Nick a fan but he has become the biggest famewhore in this franchise. JMO.

If famewhoring is defined by how many seasons and the different types of Bach shows (Bette, BIP, and now Bachelor lead) and going far in all of them then Nick is the most successful famewhore this franchise has ever seen, IMO (excluding other reality shows) especially when considering these are consecutive years of him being on.

That said, IMO, for all the shows he's been on I don't see that as just famewhoring. To me that is more someone who is excessive and all #TeamMe hashtagging and desperate acting with little to show for it - because just because some of these others don't have opportunities that Nick has had doesn't mean they aren't famewhores IMO.

In a way what Nick has done is something that is rare (no one else has done it) and like him or not, I respect the hustle especially since it didn't come with excessive whining and complaining or lashing out at SM followers.
I guess I would say Nick now has a bachelor's degree in the Bachelor with his own little emoji to boot :Nick:
