Bachelor 21 - Nick Viall - General Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers* #3

Also Nick did not choose her Abby, a woman scourn.

I listened to Abby's segment. A couple things I found interesting:

1. Nick "called" her the night before to let her know - however I specifically remember there was a video of her the night of the reveal and it was one her friend took which showed her "shocked" that he was the bachelor (there is a video along with the tweet):

2. RS saying that Jen did not know about Nick being the bachelor and that he never told her, and she had "no idea" when he was announced. Yet sleuthers on here saw that she started unfollowing him one/two nights before the reveal, she booked her "eff it" trip the same night. Her mom came on here and said that he never treated her bad - after the reveal... and that knowing Jen she likely encouraged him to take it.

3. Abby was surprised by who he picked originally - she did her own prediction based on the ABC bios and thought for sure he would pick the 30 year old Danielle Maltby - doesn't think the other three F4 make sense - but Vanessa the more she thinks of it does

4. Nick is doing show host classes - which make waaaay more sense to me than acting classes which I cannot imagine him doing - more because I can't imagine him being an actor

Overall while the podcast was "damning" I guess it didn't really shed any more light on stuff we already know or have been told - Nick has a large ego, is overly sensitive, talks bad about others but still is a decent enough human being (or something along those lines) and that Abby still has a soft spot for him. Bizarre interview IMO.

IMO, it's so telling how Nick's ego only bothered Abby after he became the Bachelor and after he has been spoiled to have chosen his F1. Before then, Abby loved Nick and her crushing on him was well-known by those that followed Nick and yet she obviously didn't get out the friend-zone with him.

So to me Abby is just sour grapes about this and is using Nick's name because she can't get her own name out there for fame without talking about Nick -- which only proves Nick was correct that people use him to get themselves attention/ahead (looking at you Abby)!

I don't think the sour grapes come from after the Bachelor taping IMO. I have followed Abby for a little while - I enjoyed her videos with Dana Weiss (they are friends) and it happened sometime after Kaitlyn's season before Bachelor in Paradise. There was a tweet that Abby made to Nick he responded and she did not like his response or something (it was in one of their youtube videos - Dana and Abby). I was very surprised by her tweet about her "dear friend" Nick in October as I believed they were no longer friends and that something had happened.

I have to say, the podcast portion with "Lisa" was very good. It was not discussing Nick but another cast couple. IMO

I actually read abby's bio breakdown from a while back and the girl she thought would win wasn't Danielle M, it was Lauren. She just got confused in the podcast when RS mentioned her. In that article she also said that Rachel seemed like she was too good for the show (which she totally is). The final four would have been surprising to me too, if I hadn't been following along with the filming updates, so I don't blame her.

I'm surprised she threw nick under the bus for this, as her friendship with the bachelor could have really useful for her writing/career. That said, nothing she said was surprising. I used to be a huge nick fan and basically just like him on TV now because I've heard those same things from people who know him or have worked with him. I was hoping for more tea to be spilled here, but I did find the line about "I'm so happy the paps won't find us here" to be really funny. IMO.

Listening to what Abby said, honestly she doesn't even make sense. She says that Nick can't handle criticism and more than anyone else he can't handle it? What is she on about? Nick's been on this show for the past 3+ years and has received a ton of criticism, likely more than any other contestant when adding it up, and yet out of that I have yet to see him retaliate or attack people on SM that comment negatively - something which I have seen plenty of the other contestants do. Like him or not, if anyone actually lets the negativity roll of his back better than most it is Nick, IMO.

Its funny I remember watching a recap video by Dana Weiss with this girl Abby sharing face time or commentary wayyyy back. I didn't know Abby from Adam so to speak but I do remember thinking...boy she's gushing about Nick. It caught my ear because it was the opposite of the negative media Nick would often stir up. Something got in her crawl...She has definitely changed her tune. Now she's joined RS? Pretty transparent of her, IMO.

I like Nick but I also agree he has changed, not always for better. However, since he chose the 29-years-old special ED teacher from Montreal, not a 24-years-old model who lives in LA, I remain hopeful he has good intentions. He said "nothing like family to keep you grounded", and I like his family so again, hopefully, we will see something wonderful and great from his 4th (and final!!) round on this franchise.

I also think he handles sm negativity with grace and humor. Very recently he wished someone who probably was harsh on him on twitter merry Christmas and the girl later tweeted she was very sorry.

I was too harsh on Nick and he's a genuinely nice guy and I might give his season a chance. I'm sorry for being a b*tch @viallnicholas28
And I'm sure @viallnicholas28 is very lovable, I did enjoy his time on Bachelor in Paradise, I just need to be more open minded

I agree. So what if privately he snarks about people he doesn't like and probably doesn't like him either. I think Nick has always been surprisingly chill, publicly at least, for all the stuff that's been said about him. I mean do people remember dog lover and Andi bestie Kelly calling him a stalker and retweeting tweets that said he looked like a pedophile? And Nick gets hate sent to him all the time on his Instagram.

Compare how he's handled all that to someone like Josh, Kaitlyn, etc. Finally I think it is equally telling how many people have positive things to say anout Nick, whether or not they are from the franchise. Sharleen has always remained close to Andi and despite Andi's hate for Nick after the ATFR, she still gave Nick a chance and they became really close friends. Chris didn't like Nick during filming of Andi's season and now they're good friends. Is he perfect, of course not but I don't think he is the monster RS and his bitterness likes to portray him as.

This is a prime example of how Nick has handled SM negativity over the last few years. Retaliating or attacking people who attack him is not something I have seen him do... although I have definitely seen other contestants do a lot of! That Abby even thinks Nick is in the same category as those who can't handle negativity - let alone worse than all of them - is just laughable and absolute rubbish, IMO.
