As did I!!! Seriously, wouldn't that be a hoot for Derek & Sonia to appear as a "couple" on Decision day?!?!? I am really, really hoping it goes this way.

I just cannot imagine Sonia and Derek as a couple. Their outlooks on life seem so very opposite. JMHO.

I have still not seen the last episode yet and I am not a user of anything illegal and never have been, I am a believer in the seriousness of the word "contract" and the word "marriage." Even if, given this show, the "marriage" is a sham concept, you signed up for this mess and believed enough in it that concept that you signed on the dotted line. I have said, IMO, she checked out soon after the altar. We had been led to believe that the contract was for 6 weeks, nothing more and nothing less. Once those terms had been fulfilled, you were free to choose to terminate the actual contract or continue with it. Heather did not honor that commitment. Period, end of story. Now, I understand the illegality of the alleged drug use, and am not commenting on that, simply there was a contract that Heather chose to break. While I am not an attorney, I am assuming that if there was in fact, an illegal activity engaged in, that would provide an escape clause. That was not what we were shown. They have said he was simply, smoking. IMO, we have not been provided the "facts " to support her decision, therefore, Heather is wrong and broke her contract.

We do not have the actual facts, so based upon what we have seen, IMO, she was never in to him from the gitgo. I am suggesting that while the alleged illegal activity in mind is a valid excuse to break the contract, I think the result would have been the same due to her lack of interest.
The above said, all of us are interpreting what we have been shown based upon assumptions which are arrived at by our own perceptions. I believe that based solely upon what we were shown, she was turned off by him and when he kissed her neck, she was uncomfortable and from that point on, Derek had no chance with her. If, she had said, "please you are making me uncomfortable, I am not ready for that yet" and he continued, then that would be a very different story, but we were not shown that. IMO, she shut down from that point and nothing would penetrate the wall she had up. Add to that negative vibe, that I believe she felt, you can add the alleged pot smoking and that is game, set and match.

And he has a dog too. IMO if she had been matched with Derek and slept in another room because of the dog, he would have been complaining about that.

I think Derek would have helped her instead of dismissing her fear. He is also big on communicating so I think he would have helped her with communicating. I also think she would be forthright about the smoking issue. NO GAMES....

Just a general question.. Say your mother was dying from cancer and using medicinal pot would take away some of the nausea and vomiting from her chemo would your stance still be the same about it??

My mother died from MM cancer and altho it would have truly helped her she was a Christian woman and would have never done any of it any way, any how, but that's not to say that there weren't time I sure wish she would have when I saw her at her worst times with the N&V from the chemo.

Now recreational use, I'm against.

I disagree with him being big on communication. IMO based on what was shown, he is very critical and argumentative. IMO when he kept talking over Heather, it was a sign he doesn't know how to communicate. IMO, there was nothing in his behavior that suggested a helpful or patient person.

It comes in pill form. If you have a medical situation, then take the darn pill and don't be getting high from the smoking it. I am a firm believer that it is a VERY bad drug and it's just stupid to use in smoking form, period!

I have to agree with you. It is a bad drug. We use to tease her a lot telling her we were gonna get her one to smoke and oh at the fussing we'd get from her. ( Sweet memories because she was such a sweet, loving woman) I don't know where she thought we were supposed to get it because she passed in 2003 and I don't even know if they had it for medicinal use at that time.

I wonder how he got away without going to jail and how on earth did he get it into another country or did he get it there? I was shocked they even showed it on TV. I thought at first she was just mad because he was smoking cigs. Shows how little I know about the subject lolol However, I did notice he was awfully smiley when they would be into it about him smoking. ; (

I used to give marinol (a pearl form of medical marijuana) for various things medically. That's been around for a long time.
Here is a source that explains it's usage, pros/cons etc.
I have never seen any ill effects from marinol.
Having spent 25+ yrs in geriatrics, long term care, rehab and hospice it disturbs me to hear of any suffering from the effects of chemo, terminal illness etc when there are so many easy, great treatments available.

I finally had the time to watch this weeks episode. Maybe it is just me but I wish they would simply let this couple fade away and if they have to included them, do it at the final week. This Dr. Pepper, visit is IMO, just away for them to try and save face. I really have moved past them and wish they would too.
