Re: Ben Higgins - Lauren Bushnell - Bachelor 20 - Discussion - #2
I honestly think Lauren is still trying to figure out herself being in Denver as of now. To me she is really in adjustment period of her life at this point . The thing that I said this is because it is pretty obvious on her sc posts she is posting . I don't blame her about it. It takes time to adopt the new place. For sure her situation at this point a lot of down time in Denver really not that much anything for her do at this point . Yeah she does met new People and became friends but it seems to me she is only with few people that she knew before she moved in in Denver. I do think it is good she is creating her own blog Atleast she has something to do and occupy herself while still figuring out what to do in Denver . And of course them having a new spin off show will going to occupy herself while leading to getting married and after that , it will be a new beginning of their life as married pair.
"challenges are what makes life interesting, overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.real love is when you are completely committed to someone even when they are being completely unlovable.a strong marriage requires two people who chose to love each other even on those days when they struggle to like each other.a great marriage doesn't happen when the perfect couple gets together. It happens when an imperfect couple gets together and learn to enjoy each other's differences."

I'm just happy Lauren is even interested in blogging, interior design, and maybe going back to being a FA. She's obviously driven to DO something. I'm glad it's just not to sponsor stuff and just live off the franchise for eternity. The exposure and perks are nice but everyone coming off the show should really focus on their future since they become irrelevant after a few years.

Maybe we will expect something like this on their upcoming show.Their silly sides especially those others saying Lauren is boring .Maybe they will surprise everyone.Since they are making a reality show of their life and they need to entertain their fans and being on tv:) this from Lauren's bro Twitter and Ben retweeted it. When they went to Warsaw celebrated early Fourth of July with them and Ben parents. That would be fun to see their other sides of their personality :)I think this is how Lauren fun and playful sides that she used to be doing before

Personally, I think it will be a cute show.
The couple is likable imo. So I might watch the first episode and see how it goes.

I think, hypothetically, if Lauren was more into the reality show idea (which wasn't my personal impression at all), well, Lauren's compromised and given up a lot for Ben as well. Lauren uprooted her life and moved to Ben, not the other way around. I'm sure the politics idea is mostly all Ben. Lauren said herself in an interview that initially the idea made her nervous because politics can be so messy, but Ben is an honest guy, this is a passion of his and she thinks he'll do great in the role, so she supports him. Therefore IF Lauren was more into the reality show idea, it's nice that Ben is compromising and doing a little give as well.
My personal impression based on the interviews was that Ben was completely joking about the snapchatting. I think he actually likes the attention reality TV has afforded him. He is VERY comfortable on camera, in interviews. He thrived in the Bachelor role, actually seemed more comfortable on camera than his better half, IMO. I agree I thought he looked uncomfortable during parts of Bachelor Live, on the Janner red carpet, etc, but I chalked that up to the constant rehash and show pimping of the dual ILY's. As an engaged man, commited to Lauren, I'm sure that made him extremely uncomfortable. (And yes, I know he partly put himself in that awkward position.) Outside of the dual ILY talk, I always thought he seemed at ease during the airing of The Bachelor. JMO.
With this reality show, it's just him and Lauren, a much simpler show. He won't be the head of some conglomerate, putting his very personal dating life on display, sifting through multiple women to "find a wife." I think he sees this reality show as a platform to showcase his charities, his political run, his life with Lauren. I think it probably appeals to him. And yes, IMO, I think this was probably a very mutual decision based on what they think is right for them. And yes, knowing how they interact with their families, constantly and on the regular, I'd be surprised if this couple didn't solicit their input and advice on the matter.
I had my reservations about the reality show. Not gonna lie. It wasn't the path I necessarily wanted for them. But I think it could be very cute. I'm excited to see them interact on screen together and not in The Bachelor universe.

I agree. She seems determined to find her own path which I think is great. She needs her own identity outside of the Bachelor world and outside of being part of a couple. From everything I've seen and read, Ben supports her in this as she has supported/is supporting him in pursuing his endeavors.
I also agree that Ben was joking re: the snapchatting comment, but I can see where it could be misconstrued otherwise. They tend to tease each other in interviews, and sometimes that does not come across as well in print.
I'm excited for their show and plan to watch. I do hope they show more of their fun sides because that part of their personalities wasn't always showcased on The Bachelor. We've gotten more glimpses of it post-show.

Seabear wrote:In one of the numerous interviews Ben and Lauren gave after the announcement of their show....Ben indicated that the offer of the show for them was made shortly after the Bachelor wrapped and they chose not to pursue it at that time because they wanted to take time for each other and get settled in RL...but as they reached the merge completion...they both realized that going back to anonymity was not reality. Where ever they went in public people were always interested in them and their lives. Therefore Ben and Lauren together decided they were at a solid and settled point in their lives together...so they revisited the idea/offer of the show and chose to move forward with it. One thing that is very clear is Ben and Lauren are a team. A partnership of equals. JMO

I do think they are a happy couple and like any relationship there will be things that one may like less than the other and they compromise because that is what relationships are all about. So I can agree that Lauren probably wasn't 100% excited about politics, but will support him because she loves him and he may have been less excited about a third show but she enjoys sharing their lives more, so he will go along and support her. That is healthy and wonderful.
I do not hate this couple, I just get sugar shock at the overwhelming rush of being told how wonderful and perfect they are when I just see average, not among the worse and not the best, IMO. I keep searching for the what makes them as a couple amazing, and I just don't see it. I think they are harmless, but not a beacon of something I should think is perfect or amazing, IMO. Ben while boring is pretty honorable, he has a strong faith and a heart truly committed to helping others. He is honestly everything that I once thought Jef Holms was back when I fell for his crap hook, line and sinker. So for me it is Lauren, I just don't get anything from her. I admit the bff relationship with Amanduh does help in my view as they both just seem so shallow. Again, not bad, just nothing that I admire. She definitely has given up a lot and supports Ben, but I would point out, why would they give up a house he owns and a stable job for him to move to LA for an apartment she shares with a roommate and a job that she has not returned to. It just makes no sense. So I do appreciate that Lauren has made the move, but I personally wait to see more from her. It maybe seen in the blog if and when it happens, maybe something on the show that I haven't seen but is there, or maybe, just maybe Lauren is a nice but shallow person and there isn't anything more there. That is okay too, it won't change that Ben loves her and she loves him. It is obvious that they are well suited and will most likely have a long happy life, though I never guarantee forever, because I am old enough to have 75% of my friends who married in their 20s divorced today to know that I have no idea what will make one couple last over another. I don't care that they are doing their own show, I don't think it is a harbinger of doom, if they are strong it will be fine and if they are not it will show cracks, just like any other relationship from this show.
I have given up on the idea of most of these people just returning to normal life, I have learned to be overjoyed when someone does and just accept when they don't, and form my like or lack of liking on the rest of what they show me as all these people even Chres, who are now publicizing their second book take advantage of the opportunities given and capitalize on the fame the show has given. I wish them the best, but do think Lauren enjoys the attention more than Ben and until I see more than fashion selfies, mediocre home decorating, working out, and following Ben around to his faith and his causes I will continue to be unimpressed with Lauren. All JMO.

I definitely don't think Lauren and Ben are perfect, they have flaws and things to work through as a couple, like anyone. I haven't loved every single one of their choices. Like I said earlier, I very rarely see fans throw out the perfect label. More often than not, its non fans using the term with a negative connotation attached. I don't really know where that perfect label comes from -- maybe Rushmore that the show gave Ben? Not sure. But I don't think it comes from the fans, and definitely not from Ben and Lauren themselves. I agree with you, there is nothing about them that makes them THE BEST COUPLE EVER, OMG! They just happen to be a couple and individuals from this franchise that I enjoy to root for and follow, moreso than most others.
I get where you are coming from though, when I hear the extremely negative descriptions of Lauren, its the same thing for me, like maybe the opposite of sugar shock that you describe; I Just don't see all those characteristics, and go into defend mode. There have been other times (like with our current lead) where being told repeatedly how wonderful, and amazing, and beautiful she is has the adverse affect on me, makes me less interested, so I totally get that. It's all good.

IMO it's does not matter to me what others think about another couple or why. I don't think it really matters to the couple or to the other people for that matter.
People are going to do what their own heart tells them, imo. As they should, life is too short to be worried about what others think or for them to worry how I think.
Certain things resonate in each of us for whatever reasons.

I just don't think Lauren lives her life to impress people. If Lauren is some shallow person, she would have stayed in LA to pursue fame as opposed to uprooting her life and taking a leap of faith in the move to Denver.
Someone who can make such sacrifice for a person she loves to make a relationship work is selfless and evidence of an amazing woman.
