Ben Higgins - Lauren Bushnell - Bachelor 20 - Discussion

Lauren says she looks forward to a time when the two can have dinner together at a restaurant without eyes watching, but admits she’s enjoying the attention, as well. “The people who come up to us and take a photo are all so nice,” she says. “But I’m missing running out to the grocery store and just grabbing something without being noticed. I’m trying to enjoy it, though, because it won’t last. And we love each other so much. We’re so happy.”

I think the above sums up how Lauren feels. We see her post nothing on SM and then we see her post several pictures (selfies included). IMO, she's found a nice balance of allowing us to see her life and keeping some aspects private. We didn't see a selfie or a tagged location when she met Trista for lunch last week. She hangs out with her friend and goddaughter a lot. IMO, she must be keeping busy with home projects or wedding planning because we rarely get updates during the week when Ben is working. I am actually surprised to see that her snapchat is quiet during the week and she mainly posts updates on the weekends or nights her and Ben have plans. Last nights concert and red carpet pictures was a once in a lifetime opportunity! I would have been loving the attention and being able to be backstage and meet my favorite country stars because that opportunity will probably never happen again. Plus, they met up with Ben's friends that live in Texas. I am happy to see Ben living up to his comment about dating Lauren well. They both have friends and family in scattered locations, and they both seem to enjoy traveling and new experiences. They said they're going to Aspen in a couple weeks. From my perspective, making the most of their weekends together doesn't mean they're not living a normal life out of the spotlight. They're young, flights are easy for them to get, and they both love to travel. They should be doing this before they settle down and have kids someday.

Does some of their fans here mentioned that next month is the time she is getting back to her being FA? Correct me if I'm wrong . I read on this forum before .

I don't have anything with benlo. I don't question their rel. they seem okay with their post life . One thing that I just noticed with Lauren is. She seems to miss some of her single activities like the attending coachella , stuff like that . It cringe me on her snaps before how much she showed her sad face while talking coachella and over using that coachella snaps feature . And tweeting how much she misses Amanda . And asking her to take a visit in Denver . I also noticed that she seems to love the modeling stuff too and beauty stuff . So I have a feeling if she won't be pursuing being FA down the road and wedding is happening down the road too I would think she might be going on this path. Now if she still keep saying she is on leave after many months not back being FA she should admit she is in changing path. Don't let public think you are back being FA which at this point you are not . Nothing wrong with that. I was looking her snaps she seems really the one who likes the snaps more than her man. I found how she makes her man smile and laugh and join her on her snaps to have some fun . I do think Lauren should stop trying so hard getting her man to be into snaps at some point coz it is coming out she is so trying so hard . Jmo.

After months of having to be in hiding...I'm sure both Ben and Lauren are happy to be out and about together and their presence on SM is a reflection of that.  Lauren moved her whole life to Denver, left behind her sister, brother, friends and job base.  I'm sure once life gets more settled Lauren will go back to work at AlaskaAir.  I just see a young couple trying to make the adjustments from engaged reality tv couple to RL engaged couple moving toward marriage.  All in good time these two will figure it out together.  I wish both of them well and abundant Happiness.

Nice to know but it's still a long way to go .

She may go back and she may not. It doesn't mean she doesn't like it or didn't like it, it could simply mean life has changed and maybe it does not fit into her life as it once did. 
That's ok. If this is what happens, hopefully she finds something else to fill her time that she enjoys. 
Most of us go through life changes.

It seems to me that Ben and Lauren are doing fine.  At the age of 28-26 they have completed their college degrees, they have both held full-time jobs for a few years, they have had adventures and had fun going on a reality TV show.  Also they seem to be really kind to fans and be close to their families.  I would say these two are doing very well.  I think Lauren is doing the right thing in taking her time to get back to her job.  She will need to travel and be away and deal with fans... For her to have a month or two to settle into their home and learning to live together, and finishing up bachelor related appearances.  This shows wisdom to me.  Also that she is making a decision to change her life and partner with Ben.  I also think they made the right decision to move to Denver where Ben had a home and a job.  Lauren can travel with her job, Ben would have had to find a new job.  Certainly they are not perfect and will have struggles, but good for them so far.  They are making some wise decisions.  Blessings to them and I hope they keep making wise decisions and keep having fun together.

Stuck, I follow you around this board, and so often I agree with you, more than I don't. But I do completely disagree on your take of Lauren.

I've followed Lauren and Ben more closely than I should. I believe you have said you really haven't outside of this thread, correct? She has done nothing but impress me tenfold post show. The actual Bachelor - her edit - didn't do her justice. She is incredibly articulate and cerebral with all of her answers in every interview. She is a complete match for Ben, word for word. She actually has a business degree, the same degree Ben has, but has stated in interviews that post graduation she held a normal 9-5 desk job and found that tedious. She also went backpacking after graduation, and that sparked a passion for traveling. That lead her to becoming a flight attendant. She is very passionate about travel, she is very passionate about the flight attendent career - whether she returns or not. She has nothing but wonderful things to say about her employer, Alaska Airlines, and from everything she has said, yes she's still employed, and yes, she plans to return in some capacity.

Everyone who meets her has nothing but glowing, wonderful things to say about her. She is kind and gracious, she's incredibly family oriented, she is passionate about her younger siblings - you can tell she was and remains a caring and nurturing older sister. She is equally passionate about animals.

She does seem passionate about fashion and design. She's not the only one from this franchise, so are Des and Jillian, to name two high profile and "respected" leads.

She handled the ILY drama with grace. Seriously, she "Chris Siegfried" her way out of that mess with complete class. As far as the selfies and thinking she's self involved, well, that's a head a scratcher to me. Sure, she posts the occasional selfie (6 since filming ended), but her count is VERY low when compared to some others. Most notably, JoJo, her IG is nothing but filtered selfies. Not hating, just comparing.

As far as charities, well, she's young. She was only 25 on the show. How many 25 year olds have huge charity endeavors? Perhaps she will find one she loves now that she has a "platform." I think we need to give her a little time to see where she goes. She's only been truly out in the open for 1.5 months, and most of that time has been adjusting to a new normal and a huge move.

Her edit on the bachelor was choppy at best. It was clear they were trying to downplay Lauren and her connection with Ben to build up JoJo, 1. To give uncertainty, and 2. To play up their next lead, which the show does every year. It's hard to say who Lauren really is based on that edit, and I don't think it's fair at all to call her shallow or completely unlike Des in anyway. I disagree. At the end of Sean's season, we knew very little about Des or her "passions." She was just given the lead role, so we got to know her better. She's had time to build and develop those passions and to grow. Des and Lauren are both on the more reserved and private side, both are kind hearted and genuine. I think both went on the show for the right reasons. Both gave up a lot, took a leap of faith, and moved for their men. Both are grounded and stayed completely classy through a Bachelor-induced drama sh$& storm. I think Des and Lauren have more similarities than they do differences.

I've been so impressed with Lauren in every way. She's handled SM hate in the best way, and just keeps on keeping on, being her classy self. Yes, she's beautiful. But watching her, getting to "know" her more, and seeing her interactions with Ben I can so easily see why and how he fell in love with her and was just so enamored with her. She's a gem.

Personally, flight attendant is a job I would be happy for my significant other to give up. It's not an office job, much more complicated than that for a relationship IMO, not to mention the safety concerns/fears I'd have. Maybe she and/or Ben didn't think that career fit with their new lives in a serious relationship hoping it will lead to marriage. I would totally understand her not ever returning to that profession as a very valid choice for the health and success of what they're trying to build together. Jmo.

What a beautiful post Sleepy, and I entirely agree! All season my sister, mother and I loved watching Ben fall for her and light up our screen but my sister kept on telling me "how much more would we love her if this was her show?" We, all three, felt we would have LOVED seeing that but we were happy for her and Ben too. I feel in just the few weeks since the show ended watching her interviews with Ben that she is wonderfully articulate and extremely classy. There has been no jealousy that I have seen regarding Jojo, Jojo's edit or any of the crap storm that was the finale for all three. She was particularly gracious to Leah even though Leah completely threw her under the bus.
All that being said she's not every one's cup of tea and that's how it should be. Different strokes and what not. I know my bestie from college still thinks Des was duller than dishwater and it doesn't matter how hard I rave for her there is no changing her mind; and why should I? Certainly Des would just laught it off anyhow. IMO

If I remember correctly it was Ben who encouraged her to do snaps and keep the fans posted of their lives. In fact the first snap Lauren mentioned it. Also Ben posted somewhere to follow Lauren for their updates. So why is Lauren getting all the flack for this.
