Ben Higgins - Lauren Bushnell - Bachelor 20 - Discussion

There is a You Tube called "Ben Higgins (The Bachelor) Net Worth and Biography 2016".
It states that Ben would be paid $100,000. dollars for being the Bachelor and would get $213,000. for being 3rd on the Bachelorette. If that is true, then Lauren should have received a stipend for being the finalist on Ben's season.

I could be wrong, but everything I have ever read and all I have heard here is the contestants do not get paid. They do on BiP but not bachelor of bachelorette.

Also I can't believe 3rd place if paid was more than the lead.

I have never heard that any of the "finalists" got paid--per the above Ben being F3. 
So this would be something new to me. 
I know the couple gets paid for appearances, but I don't know if that includes things associated with their regular rounds post immediately show like GMA. If they were doing a meet and greet/question answer in a mall that would be different and depending on the contract with that venue would get compensated.

In all the years, I have never heard of contestants getting paid regardless of what position there were in at the end. Ed Swiderski said himself on one of the interviews, he did not get paid contrary to the rumour he proposed for the $$.

Oh! I kind of know something about this! So I watched a "better show" clip on Youtube of Kiptyn and Tenley and Kiptyn mentions that everyone who gets hometown dates get a small stipend and Tenley's all "What?!" I didn't" It's really funny because he was surprised she didn't and then she said she needs to make some calls later. I wonder if it varies from season to season?

Wow, first time I have ever heard that and Tenley was after Kipton. I wonder with Ed leaving if they paid a little to make sure no one else left?

I think he was joking in that clip because of all the rumours at the time of Ed and Kiptyn getting paid. I recall seeing that as well.

Are you guys serious, the contestants get no money for appearing on the show? How can that be true? So all contestants each season appear on the show for no money at all, live secluded, are ruthlessly manipulated etc and there's no $ for them?

Some go into major debt. Jillian Harris blogged about spending $8000 to go on the show.

I'm actually shocked, I had no clue! I always assumed they got a stipen depending on how far in the show they get. Crazy! Now the shilling on sm seems like a good idea, at least some benefit from appearing on the show.

They get a shot at love, 15 minutes of fame, a vacay with free travel, gift bags of jewelry, clothes, etc., make new friends, and in most cases offers to endless promote products for money on IG after the shows over, etc.  And they willingly sign up by the thousands season after season...so it's not like they get nothing out of the process no matter what they're put through by TPTB.  JMO.
