Ben Higgins - Lauren Bushnell - Bachelor 20 - Discussion

They will be fine. In a month when it dies down they can concentrate on them and then they will make it or maybe not. They are a cute couple. They have a lot for them yet at the same time they have a lot against them. They just need to balance the two columns and know what is most important to them. Time will tell and if all is well by the end of summer they have gotten over the worst hurdle.

agreed . They are really really well like by everyone.Their ig followers escalated quickly once their season is over especially Lauren. I do think they will still going to follow them at some point in Denver once the move is completely happened. The media really have interest with them to be part of their articles. I was reading some of the people saying about them they are all crazy with both of them . Some might be rude with both of them and still bringing Jojo's name but mostly they really really like them. They seem doing good so far even they have a long way to go.

I would be curious to see the initial video, but that short clip from the edited positive story ET now has running, it looks like absolutely nothing. They had a conversation in the car and then went shopping.

I'm just going to add, that I doubt anyone signing for the show really has a clue what it's like for the 'winning' couple. You just can't prepare for paparazzi to follow you to Home Depot, and being a story on ET. Its an adjustment and a learning curve, but no one can think that far ahead and be prepared for it when they sign up for the show. Jmo.

:Nod: Especially Lauren. I mean, Ben went into this experience the second time knowing he'd likely leave with a high profile relationship. But Lauren went in just as 1:28 other women. She had much greater odds of being sent home rose ceremony 1,2, or 3 and fading back into obscurity than being one half of the final couple. Not only just the final couple, but a final couple that appears to be working and is spending actual tangible, quality time together, so it invites in the paps.

Attention fades for all of these couples though. The more time that passes, the less you see negative stories, or tweets, or sightings. I mean, when was the last time the paps followed JP/Ashley, Trista/Ryan, Jason/Molly, Chris/Des, or even Sean/Catherine or Kaitlyn/Shawn out to Home Depot or wherever? It's been a while. Ben and Lauren just need to hold strong and stay the course. It'll all die down eventually. Jo's season is right around the corner to take away some of the media attention.

I think even Jojo's season is here . I don't think the whole media attention will be with her . Yeah the media will focus on Jojo's season but they still have their attention to both of them. Especially if their wedding is going to be televised whenever their planning is going to kick in. He and Lauren are still going to do some appearances on this franchise just like formers did  and still doing . Just saying.

My initial instinct, they are trying to have a conversation and they know they are being watched. He has his back to the window, and she keeps trying to pull the cap down. Again when they are getting out of the car, Ben is frowning, Lauren is looking down. IMO it's a look of frustration because they are out and about doing normal things and they still are being watched.

That is pretty much my take as well. I don't know what it was that had "them" upset but my take is that Ben was the one who was upset and was either frustrated - or exasperated - over something. One of the many versions of this ET post (not this one but this video worked for me while some didn't) show Ben covering his face with his hand which suggests frustration to me. But I don't necessarily think he was frsutrated with Lauren or that this really had anything to do with the two of them - that's merely speculation. The reason I don't think this was something between them is that in this linked video we can see Lauren reach out and touch Ben's head at one point (about 1:02 into that video) and that's one way that Lauren has used in the past to calm and reassure Ben. She did this again inside the Home Depot in another picture on this same link:

I think Lauren touches Ben this way as a reassurance to him - like she did near the end of the show when she knew he had a "troubled mind" and because she is giving Ben a similar reassurance is why I think that whatever happened in the car didn't have anything to do with their relationship - just something that upset Ben and Lauren sought to calm him.

I do note that the final edition of the ET article included a SC of Lauren's Snapchat (also from the IG account @benandlaurenupdates) after she got wind of the planned article (and her "say whattttt???" reply) and I figured at the time that Snapchat was Lauren's way of saying "It ain't true" and putting her own message out there. Nice that ET got what she was doing and included it - they might well have been planning a different spin on the article had Lauren not done an end run around them.

I think the funniest part is that Ben took his shirt off for no apparent reason. It wasn't THAT warm in Denver this weekend.

Ha, it crossed my mind that Ben was upset by a  Pap...or rude fan... or just got tired of it.   Lauren tried to calm him down and when he saw the  Paps were still following him at their home, he decided to take his shirt off too, to give them a shirtless shot, just for spite!   It was kind of funny he did that, the previous shot was of Lauren carrying a pillow and it was snowing!!! Also as of Lauren's snap chat last night, he is just tired of the camera perhaps.  He knows he signed up for this, but the human Ben appears to not want to take anymore photos for a while.

He does seem over the cameras. Their snapchat isn't fun when Ben looks peeved half the time. Just a little awkward.

I also laughed at walking out of Home Depot shirtless for no reason at all .

I noticed that too.  My impression is Ben is more really wanting to go back to normal, including being a private guy, lowkey on social media, while Lauren is more enjoying having fans attention and pics taken etc.  I don't mean that in a bad way about her, just they're on different pages with enjoying having or putting their faces out there.  Ben's been out there for a while now, while Lauren has a newfound fame only a few months old.

I totally got Ben's comment in the snap, " I just don't like all these pictures" when he just wants to sit and watch tv at home privately. I would be the same.  Hopefully Lauren will respect his desire to not be constantly posting stuff on sm if that's not his style. JMO. I didn't really love that she seemed to giggle like it was a cute moment while Ben was so obviously not into posting something to social media in that moment. Prob just another growing pain of a new relationship in day, finding a mutual social media approach that doesn't bug either person.

If I remember right the first snap Lauren did I heard her say you want me to sc and let fans know about our exciting life so this is what you get or something like that. So it was Ben that wanted her to do it. Does anyone else remember this?

I think Ben kind of comes off as a serious guy, very analytical like he over thinks things (we saw lots of hints of this on the show - especially at the end when he was WAAAY over thinking decisions and taking things incredibly seriously), and he really doesn't seem like the attention, you could see him literally checking out of all those Bachelor Live shows, he just seemed over it. Ben's mom said whoever he is with has to be able to "talk him off the ledge." Maybe we caught a moment of that- Ben hitting a breaking point with the constant pictures or being followed or whatever. On second view, it really looked like Lauren was trying to reassure him, not the other way around. Luckily for him, Lauren seems like a pretty calm, rational person, and she also seems rather light-hearted and giggly a lot of the time, so that's probably what he needs to help give him that balance.

And regarding snap chat, there have been a few where Ben seems more than into it. There was even one where they were driving into Denver, and he was giggly and excited and asking to be in the snap. Lauren appeared to be over it that time, lots of fans were speculating she seemed tired and drained. I think it's really hard to draw huge conclusions on literally 5 seconds snapped in time.
