I was mortified by some of the IG comments, too. It is like they have "no filter" and a real disconnect from the fact that these are actual people who have feelings.

They said they are moving in together, so we're watching the feet to make sure they do that asap...and that will be a good real world sign.

I'm not judging anyone who is skeptical. I think they have a chance, but I'm always doubtful of these couples until they walk down the aisle (and sometimes even after that). So I get skepticism. I guess I just don't get why moving in together within a month is a better indicator that they are following through and real and mature, but starting to talk about wedding planning is too much. They said they were going to do both and that's what they are doing. And living together is hard....if they aren't serious enough to start talking wedding planning then they probably shouldn't be moving in together. JMOAA.

PS - if it were me, I would stay parked where I currently live and would be together for a year in real world before even considering that kind of a big move. And I also wouldn't get engaged at the end of this silly show. But it's not me, it's them. They (and every single other person from this franchise) make a lot of decisions that I wouldn't make.

I really like this post and your take on things. Everything we know about Ben, I don't think he's the "shacking up" kind. If he is going to commit to Lauren and move in together, I don't see why following through and actually starting wedding planning is such a big stretch, or why that makes them immature. It's all about perspective. Some might say Lauren uprooting her life and moving in with Ben, without making, or starting to make long term marraiage plans is the immature approach. It's all perspective and what works for the individuals.

Regardless, I don't think it matters when they start thinking about the wedding, trying on dresses, thinking about venues or tv vs. private. At the end of the day, if these two get married I think their actual timeline from engagement to marriage will be nearly identical to all the franchise married couples before them. They all move fast.

Regarding the IG comments, hopefully they ignore them and don't even read.

I don't think jumping to wedding planning is making them an immature people . I think it is just some think it's quick for them to jump in because they are still a month being out in public . But again they can do what they think is and feel about it . At the end of the day they are the ones who know more than everyone . Jmo.

I get skepticism but sometimes it's like damned if they do and damned if they don't. Some people doubt the realness of their relationship if they don't move in together soon but they also doubt that realness if they plan a wedding soon.

^^^Imo the reason that folks are speculating on the above is that this couple has come out themselves and put a timeline to those events unlike some previous couples that generalized plans post FRC in interviews etc. Those couples were also held under a microscope and so is this latest one. You choose to fall in love in public so speculation is bound to follow.

Guess, I don't see how that makes them any different than any other couple from the show. All coming off the show are watched and their actions discussed. These two are just the newest and most in the spotlight still. At times, they've all been in the damned if they do or don't boat, IMO. And I'm not trying to make any specific couple sound better or worse than others.

There will always be fans, non fans and those that just like to observe and discuss what they see without really taking a side. That's what the board is for and provides plenty of different threads for everyone to find a happy place. If you (a general, not specific you) don't like reading negative, stick to the fan threads. If you want to discuss everything...whether good, bad, happy, sad, ugly, etc. then visit the general discussion threads. We just have to respect each other's rights and opinions to post whatever, regardless of whether we agree, disagree, or agree to disagree. Hugesmile

I wish them well and hope they do whatever makes them happy. Personally, I don't fan anyone or couple from this show anymore. I like some better than others and this couple is more of a like than dislike. These two have the potential to make it, but whether they do or not is up to and on them. JMO.

IMO they're joking around and being sarcastic.

Not sure that there's a mean bone in Jared's body (silly and dumb, when it comes to following the script for he and Ashely I's on/off relationship is a whole 'nother story giggling

). And JJ's just being JJ. He and Ben are friends and we know when he's displeased or doesn't like someone he has no problem opening his mouth, inserting his foot and trashing them. Rolling Eyes

JMO.
