Just me, but I can't put voluntarily being on a reality tv show in the same category.

I have had two of these things happen and yes, that is going through hell, worse than you can imagine.   However#1 i do feel bad for Lauren.  However #2 she choose to go on this show.  She should have known they do not really care about the contestants on this show.  Whoever is F1 and F2 they will survive.  Ben's mother however#3 should have refused to make a pick for Ben!!!

please no... if she does end up getting hurt i don't want her to be part of the show at all. she deserves to meet someone outside of the show and i doubt she would have no shortage of guys lining up to meet her.

According to that clip, this was what Ben's mother said she based her opinion on:

"JoJo is way more my style. Just because (and note - there's an edit in the audio track at this particular point) you referred to her as the first person who will reassure me and tell me it's gonna be OK. And that for me is all I really needed to hear."

So I don't know if - at this point - they have seen both girls or have seen Ben with both girls - but the opinion was based only an what Ben said in describing JoJo to them.

First I'm inclined to believe you're right - they probably do know which way Ben is leaning, and one possible interpretation of why Ben's mother is crying is that she knows that her choice is not the choice that Ben is going to make. I'm not really picking up a sense that Ben's mother is lying when she says if it were her decision to make she would pick JoJo - that may in fact be how she feels. The reality is that it's not her decision to make - it's Ben's decision to make - and I hope she knows that she has to let him make it and her role as a parent is to support Ben in his decision and welcome whoever it is Ben takes as a wife into the family and love her.

It does occur to me that this clip may not be all there is about the MTP - that it's only a portion of it - and opinions could be quite different after seeing Ben with both girls. For me - I would not venture any opinion at all until I had seen how Ben interacts with both JoJo and Lauren.

I doubt that.

IMO the surprise is related to the dialog between CH and Ben on the WTA - where Ben said "I am more in love than I've ever been, and I would marry that woman tomorrow if I could."
