Oh, oops. I didn't see that Ben was in on the surprise.  I just thought the evil genius that is MF would like to torture him one last time.

From my understanding, I thought the surprise was FOR Ben.

There was an interview last week *I'll try to find it* where he said, they might have something "up their sleeve" with a wink.

^Ladybug also noticed the editors played with the color quite a bit. I noticed it too. In one shot, Lauren's skin looked quite pale and her dress was glowing.

IMO, the editors worked overtime to manipulate most of the images somehow and to try to spin it where they're something major going down.  I think as with most things associated with the show...much to do about nothing.

It would be terrible if they bring his ex on! They seem to like ex's this season!

IMO. surprise is that JoJo is the next Bachelorette. As sad as the goodbye probably was, Ben was honest, gave her the closure she needed (plus several months have passed) and she is ready to find her own forever love.
I know they don't usually cast the F2 as Bachette but they saw that JoJo would be a more popular pick than Caila.
They made it work.
