Most cameras go from 1000 to 2000 after passing through 1999. They count consecutively from some (arbitrary) starting point - the default being 0001. Image numbering on most digital cameras rolls over (ie back to zero) at 9999

OT, but our local budget theater is having a special showing of the finale Monday night! I don't recall them ever doing this before which is even more humorous!

What is the average time span between F2 rejection and F1 proposal? Is that known?

Not exactly an answer to your question. but photographers like to shoot either shortly after sunrise or shortly before sunset. The high sun position of mid-day makes for harsh lighting and subjects don't appear as attractive in that lighting as they do when the sun is low in the sky. Good photographers might wait around all day just to get good lighting.

I think they typically will film the F2 rejection long enough before the F1 proposal that they can get it done, give the lead some time to compose themselves, and then shoot the F1 proposal while they have the best light of the day and can get good images. This is why, IMO, the sun position in the sky is so revealing when we sleuth previews or SC of the FRC - that "sun low in the sky lighting" is what they want to get good photography and that they reserve for F1 - those are the images that will be seen over and over again. The F2 rejection - not so much.

Lucas, that's really interesting info, thanks for sharing! I never even thought how much extra effort goes into producing these shows.

Here's a good example of how lighting makes a difference - think back to the two images we have in the helicopter - one of JoJo and one of Lauren. The image of JoJo is just a picture of a pretty girl in a helicopter - there's nothing special about it. The one of Lauren with half of her in sunlight and half of her in shadows is powerful. The look on her face adds to it - she going someplace where her outcome is unknown - it can either be a very bright place (she's halfway there) or a very dark place (and she's halfway there too) and the contrast in lighting shows the two different outcomes. Note that she's looking towards the light which is part of the story too.

It may not win prizes but at least in the context of this show it's pretty good photography because it tells a story that a viewer can see. I'd be pretty happy to be able to take photographs like that one - but you do have to have the right lighting to make it work.

You would think the F2 would know it was them due to time of day.
