So true. And while I may not like him telling both girls the same thing i have to know it's their life not mine and i don't and will never know them. It's still hard to watch though.

Doubt it. If he really loves her (and I'd guess he does) he was probably upfront. And if not, then it's not meant to be. But Ben is a good communicator, and I really do think he loves Lauren- hopefully by now real love, not just bubble love.

He might not have considered it a blunder if he was feeling it, so at that point, there was no need to defend himself. However, maybe he was feeling the consequences of his actions long term at this point. But, then, what would he consider a mistake?

I think why the word "mistake" is in my head is from two promos. One says. I made a mistake. I don't know how this happened. The other is, this is the biggest mistake I've made. I might be adding things wrong, but I am applying it to the two ILY's and the what the consequences will be.
