There's someone on twitter claiming to have the mugshot and the police report from David's case in Arizona. It'll be interesting to see if they actually have it or if it's just hot air.

I just checked twitter. I am appalled the way people are attacking the paricipants. It's one thing to discuss issues on the forum. Its another thing to tag them in insulting and demeaning post. Calling Ashley the B word and actually tagging her in the comment. Also calling David a criminal and also tagging him.. people get so deeply involved in this show that they stop being human.

I think had that just been explained to ArtmesisGreen she would have understood. I didn't know any of that history, so the response baffled me too.
Can we have a twitter link please?

I agree it is sad to see how people behave behind their keyboard on SM. They would never say these things to their face. Were they raised in a barn?

Let's hope it's not doctored. When someone creates a twitter account just for this purpose, I wonder.

Hi. New here, but the discussion of David's possible arrest record got me interested enough to post instead of just read. About 12 years ago, my brother in law was arrested and tried for domestic violence charges. He REFUSED to plead guilty (because he wasn't) and instead took his case to a jury. Had he pled guilty, it would have been to the charges similar to David's. He was advised by his attorney to plead guilty because people would "never" believe he wasn't guilty and the "best" thing was to plead guilty, pay a small fine, and attend domestic violence classes...simple and done.
A bit of background. My BIL is over 6 feet and runs around 200. His now ex-wife is tiny...around 5'2" and weighs maybe 100 pound soaking wet. She was a complete and utter nut case, as I personally witnessed over the years. She would extinguish her cigarettes ON my BIL's arm (yes, that's true). She was verbally abusive. She was psychotic as hell (a total nut job) and would turn on a dime from sweet and innocent to the most evil witch you can conjure up. I do believe she had mental health issues. It all came to a head one night when they had a verbal altercation, started by her (according to BIL) and he decided she was escalating and that the safest course of action was to leave the home. So he did. She JUMPED on his back to stop him from leaving. He "shrugged" her off, and she fell, breaking a bone in her arm (she has brittle bone disease). She said "give me a divorce and all the $$$ and the house or I will accuse you of domestic violence." He left. She had him arrested.
A jury deliberated for less than 10 minutes after hearing her testify, him testify and numerous witnesses to her abusive behavior over the years. The believed HIM not her. And, he was acquitted. But, there it is on his record that he was charged with domestic violence. Never before. Never since. Never. Yet, it haunts him even though he was found "not guilty." The only thing he was guilty of was having the bad sense to marry her. She was just completely wacky....for years. Thank goodness he didn't plead, or everyone would "assume" that he must have done something horrible to her. He didn't. I am no apologist for domestic violence offenders, but he WAS innocent!
Who knows what happened with David? Honestly, unless you were there, you don't know what happened or didn't happen with David. All I can tell you is that people DO make up claims of domestic violence.

Ribbons you are correct. According to an article in "Christian Today", David was asked to be on the show by a producer.ribbons of color wrote:David was asked to be on the show, they came and invited him, not the other way around. I feel so bad for these two, she is no fool, and either is he, they are in it now for the money, and only the money, they never had a drop of chemistry together, they don't even like one another a little bit, but have to suck it up, and play to the camera for 6wks., bet they can't wait till this joy ride is over.

The mother reportedly said that Norton was tricked into joining the show. According to her, Norton met a girl on Tinder. When they finally saw each other in person, the girl allegedly confessed that she was a producer for the show.
Furthermore, the mother was quoted saying, "David refused until they told him how much they would pay him." She added that Norton really intended to settle down, but she has a feeling that Doherty is just doing it for the money.
NOTE: the article sites Starcasm as a source.

BOOM! I so agree. What comes to mind is codependency narcism.
There are several types of narcism. This is spot on, IMO…
- compensatory narcissist: including negativistic (passive-aggressive), avoidant features.
Thanks for posting this. :dancingdoggy!

I agree. IMO there is no blame. David is likely being prodded to keep up his pursuit. Ashley is, IMO, turned off by David and shuns his touch.ribbons of color wrote:IMO, nothing is wrong with Ashley, she has no disorders of any kind, she is just not attracted to Dave in any way, this has got the be so hard on both Ashley & Dave.
The revelation of David texting a woman that was NOT a friends of Ashleys, IMO revealed a lie. I can understand why she was angry.

Wow…this is spot on! I also believe that she discovered something while on her honeymoon in AZ. IMO what she "discovered" will soon be revealed. IMO they are a very poor match and both deserve happiness…just not in the same home!latergator wrote:some of my observations and opinions, feel free to skip over if you need to...
from what I recall (only what I've seen on TV). Ashley was not all in at the wedding, but was slowly warming up at the reception and then seemed be warming up more on the wedding night and part of the honeymoon. things really seemed to move south and changed between her and Dave at the move-in together time. his little tantrum at the first night back at his apartment was quite juvenile I thought. personally, I wonder what Dave has done that pushed her completely away. she initially did not like his looks at all, but then repeatedly said that he was a good guy with many traits that she admired. Ashley definitely has her issues, but she has been clear in her diary moments with with the experts that she is not feeling it with him since the move-in. Dave strikes me as needy and controlling. I get the impression that he measures his worth by the number of friends he has, and believes that by turning on the "charm" people will succumb to his personality. I wonder about his perverse clinging to his "poor me" mantra. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a tattoo on his body saying something to the effect "my dad died when I was 7, so treat me extra special". it strikes me as strange that as distant Ashley has been, that here we are week 5 and Dave is still 'falling' for Ashley... even while admitting that he knows nothing about her or her family?
as distant as Ashley is, I honestly believe that she knows something about Dave that we don't know. it's really too bad about them. oddly I think they make a striking couple, but it looks doomed and dead in the water. just one more "poor me" that Dave can add to his repertoire.
