ITA. Had the same conversations with others and my hubby agreed on this as well.eirekay wrote:My daughter just turn 30. She is a professional artist, and as such, is always focused on the future because she needs to know how she is paying rent. She divides guys in to two categories pretty quickly when she dating: "Now" guys and "Future" guys.
"Now" guys are always focused on the next gig, party, event, and their passion is sparked by someone who can keep up, go along and fit in. "Future" guys are more concerned with where things leads and what follows, and their passion is sparked by someone who can participate and contribute.
Daughter quickly, as in on night 1, labeled Shawn a "now" guy - she says that's why it was so easy for him to say "I'm here for you" that night without getting to know Kaitlyn more deeply. Daughter had labeled Nick a "Future" guy on Andi's night 1 because Nick was surprised at receiving the FIR and had real questions.
I think Shawn has a lot of redeeming qualities, but I agree with my daughter - he is all about "now" which is why every action of Kaitlyn's is an emotion trauma for him - he is not playing the chess game and seeing where it takes him 3 moves out.
Kaitlyn and Shawn, are just two "in the moment" people who happened to be on a show that calls for a proposal at the end of it, imo and are together post-show until ATFR and then it/reality will sink in (jobs, living, planning, etc). Living in the moment is all good but imo, the successful lead/F1s that have married from the Bette franchise are those who know who and what they are before the show and after the show (even if a bit chaotic while on it) and are planners more than in the moment type people. More practical than emotionally driven.
I will have a better idea on the longevity of K&S based on what they do ATFR and post-AFTR and whether it will last. If they say they are "taking things slow" then I know it's basically over, imo, especially given an engagement and how in the moment these two are. If they actually have a date planned or at least a timeline then I will see that as a possible marriage like Des and Ashley but won't hold my breath.

Forget chess, that is probably to cerebral for him. He is still on Mario Kart-and getting to the finish line.eirekay wrote:My daughter just turn 30. Kasha, that is too funny. Especially considering Kaitlyn said she lapped Shawn on Mario Kart

I really like K and S as a couple but don't think they are the type to rush into marriage even as in the moment people. I can definitely see them moving in together. The show engagement really just means exploring their relationship in the real world and that's what they are doing IMO. The ATFR will be interesting and I will be really curious to see Shawn address his perceived trust issues and see where he and K are at .

I see K & S as a couple with a strong attraction, and very impulsive. Sometimes, you don't know WHY you are so attracted to someone, whether that person is right or wrong for you.
They communicate in a unique way, and their chemistry is through the roof. If you are spiritual, you can see that this is a relationship that had to happen, no matter what the consequences. They BOTH felt it from moment one.
Where it will go, nobody knows. Most of these hot and heavy relationships fizzle out, BUT usually there are lessons to be learned for the rest of your life.

I liked Kaitlyn last season, wanted her to be the bachelorette because I thought it would be a season like Jilly's, funny yet sensual.
But the more I see, the more I am disappointed. We can blame the producers for creating the dramas, but Kait looks lost to me most of the time. Jilly may have let a good guy (poor Reid) go, but we could see how her relationship with the F3 grow. She has some very romantic dates together with some good conversations. This season? Where is the love story? And yes, I never see a love story between she and Shawn.

Everyone talks about how mature and unique their communication is, but I can't see it.
Shawn told her several times that he found it hard, and she said I know, and a little bit more reassurance, then he said I know.
I mean, for the last 2 or 3 episodes, this pattern keeps happening. Why is it mature and unique?

I had to scroll up to see what thread I was in.
JMO but I would never think of the word mature to describe K or S. Unique perhaps.

I would say mature, in that when they speak with one another it's very raw, honest, and calm. It's cathartic for both parties in order to get past difficulties. They disarm each other. They really look one another in the eyes when speaking. There is no waffling (likes and ums, fidgeting). This is the key to their longevity IRL. If they can keep this up, it could bode well for them moving forward.
I will say unique in that they communicate like they've been doing this for years instead of weeks. There's something natural and organic about it. And their emotional/mental connection intertwines so beautifully with their physical chemistry IMO of course.

^^^ I think we will start seeing the amazing chemistry between shawn and kaitlyn on their FS date. TPTB will continue to try and hide it and mask it with the "drama." There is something very natural between shawn and kait. I agree, there are many layers and are connecting emotionally as well.
Kait has clearly wanted shawn from day one and from the looks on SM they both seem very happy.

I'm still on the fence about the long-term compatibility of these two. When the lights shut off and there are no more bachelors chasing K, how long will S be all in and so in love? How long will K remain so attracted to S and stay engaged in conversations that move slower than a turtles pace. Spit it out son! K seems to bore easily. IMO, S will need the help of his family immediately to keep her committed to this relationship for the long haul. By the way, where are they going to live? I'm guessing S knows where....does K get that and will she be happy in Nashville? This is assuming they make sep lives one quickly. If not, IMO it would def hinder an engagement. S won't get on board with her still living the single life. He's not cut out for that, IMO.
