Nick Viall - Bachelorette 11 - *Spoilers - Sleuthing* - Discussion #4

We don't know that Nick proposed to Kaitlyn..heck maybe she let him go early?

IMO, Nick is "taking it so well" because that is what guys like him do.  He went home and wrestled with it in his head, talked it through with close family/friends and is making the choice to be happy with the outcome because although he wanted Kaitlyn, she wanted someone else.  And he wants to be the most important person to his girl, to be fought for in return.  

He is a forward thinking person who focuses on the future.  He has to direct a significant amount of his energy to dwell in the present.  He worked through things in his head after he first returned from filming...his SM would support that.  So now he can see the big picture.  He has a more accurate picture of their relationship for what it was and has moved forward to his next big adventure.

None of us know if he is "taking it well." Spending time with friends and going out and posting stuff on instagram doesn't mean it didn't suck for him.

well yeah it probably did, for a week or maybe 2, thinking in retrospect, worrying of all the things he's about to find out that he doesn't know yet (and to see the edit of his own actions/words) ... but I think after 1 month he is over it. The happy, smiley faces we see on his IG are genuine and authentic and can be even comparable with the pics before and after last season ... and Nick of today seems so much better... by the time the finale airs he will not even remember how he felt on the day of FRC and he will be so over it ... that we may expect him to laugh at ATFR out of absurdity of it all... you never know with Nick.

Well said Cecilia, no one knows how Nick is taking it. Heck this time last summer some of us were convinced he was F1 despite plane-gate based on his SM postings. Now all I read is that Nick's SM behavior last summer indicated he wasn't F1 which proves hindsight is always 20:20

I think the only thing that we can really assume is that Nick and Kaitlyn's relationship after the rejection was not as destroyed as his and Andi's. I say that because Nick has been supporting Kaitlyn on SM and Kaitlyn has continued to say that Nick is a good guy and came on for the right reasons in her interviews. That makes me think that, at the very least, they left on good terms and, possibly, kept up a friendship after filming.

I agree that it's hard to really tell how someone is feeling through SM. Time and time again, we have seen Bachelor couples look happy and post lovey-dovey tweets/IG and break up a few days later. It's possible that Nick is just putting on a brave face for now, but we won't really know how he feels until the ATFR.

Imho, Nick is taking it extremely well because of his actions.

He is not reacting negatively and nothing he has done is something that is vindictive, vengeful, or mean-spirited in some sort of retaliation. In fact, his supportive tweets/posts show he is doing the opposite which to me, is taking the fact that he went on a show again, faced a firing squad, fell in love perhaps enough to propose and then be rejected and he is not lashing out or causing drama.

Based on everything he is going through and being talked harshly about in the media, he is taking it very, very well. I would want to crawl under the covers and never wake up. But instead, Nick is just living his life, even if it feels cloudy inside, he is putting out sunshine and positive vibes.

That doesn't mean he is not hurt, heartbroken or doesn't have bad days. All I know is that some of the strongest people are those who get up and put one foot in front of the other and put a smile on their face and one would never know the trials they are going through because they choose to be optimistic. That's what I see with Nick.

Exactly! Or maybe they are just friends. Period. Just because ABC provides us with sounds of off camera love making and just because Kaitlyn looks into the camera and tells everyone she had sex, doesn't mean it actually happened.

A lot of leads have looked into the camera or in their F1-2-3-4-5-6 eyes and said a lot of things that they didn't mean, right?! This is reality TV!

We have no idea what Kaitlyn agreed to do in order to get her Bachelorette role nor do we know what Nick agreed to do to get put back on the show. Yes, they have great chemistry and maybe I'll change my tune after watching their one on one date next week but I still question what the heck he is doing back on this season and how much he's getting paid to be there.

Yes, yes, yes! I agree with this. My statement above is not fact, just opinion based on his actions/postings, ect.

Well said DMB and MVM. There are all sorts of scenarios that could have been part of the machinery.

I am surprised the they allowed Nick to come back after he spilled the beans in the infamous airplane video. I guess they knew his arrival would bring drama and ratings. I just wish Kaitlyn would have let him go as soon as she knew Shawn was F1. She shouldn't have dragged him along as long as she seemingly did.
