Andi Dorfman - The Bachelorette 10 - Discussion - #4

^ It was in Andi's season, episode 3 or 4 maybe, when Eric left. I believe it was at the beginning of the cocktail party before a rose ceremony, but could be wrong.

Eric (RIP) told her he was there to meet someone, not meet an actress. She had a fit and told him to leave and told the other guys they can all leave if they don't believe in her, she's exhausted and she's trying her best. (Personally I would have loved if a few of them would have left) Not only that horrible scene it was also her behaviour after they learned of his death. She IMO managed to take such a tragic event and turn the focus back on her by claiming she felt responsible to be strong for the rest of the guys, and CH had to comfort her, what?

So he thought she was being fake? I am reading the comments to the articles and almost everyone talks badly about Andi's behavior. Amazing. This is good though. It means there are still people with functioning brains out there. ;) I'm also wishing I had at least recorded those episodes to watch later. Sounds like I am missing out here.

Seems like Eric was a genuine guy. He wasnt trying to be mean, call her out or provoke her. I think he was just saying he wants to see the side of Andi that he gets to see when the cameras aren't around. He said she was acting for the cameras, basically, but he wanted to see the real Andi. She decided that was an insult, rather than a request. She got angry, defensive, and then dumped a good man for no reason.

Is that how easy it is to incur her wrath? Wow. You can see she can't take the slightest bit of constructive criticism. He wasn't trying to dig at her. He was trying to get her to open up to him. He wanted to get closer to her. She took that loving request as an insult against her character. That poor girl. Maybe in 60 years she'll realize what really happened.

Apparently she wanted everyone to be open but she has a different definition of open than most people.

Most people may think being open means speaking your mind and being honest. She means be open and honest about yourself but not about her. There is a limit, and that limit starts with any criticism of Andi. Of course she will still be open and honest about her opinions of you.

Sounds about right. They make it so transparent now. Just too easy.

Exactly. She gets very defensive. She now claims that she wants to find a man that will appreciate a woman "that is strong and has an opinion" and a man that can "basically hold his own". But she HAD men in her life just like this. Certainly Eric seemed that way, and I believe Josh likes strong, assertive, independent women as well. I don't think SHE can handle men that can stand up to her. Eric saw right through her, and she couldn't deal with it, so she got defensive and kicked him to the curb. I think it was the same with Josh when he saw the REAL Andi post filming, only this time it was him that kicked her to the curb.

I think Andi needs to change her type. She obviously doesn't fare too well with strong men, so when she says she needs a guy that "appreciates" her for her strength and opinionated nature, she really should mean someone who will just sit back, let her take the reigns, and stay out of her way.

Yeah, she needs a man who she can walk all over, but she will never respect a man like that by definition. That kind of man will never be able to hold his own. Like I said, there are some men out there who actually want to marry a bully. She just needs to find that kind of man. 


Just imagine what kind of response she would give if Eric was angry and tried to call her out. [It sounded like in previous episodes she must have been calling him out and insisting that he be open and honest and possibly that he wasnt revealing his true self to her. That is the impression I am getting. But when he basically says the same to her, it's war, and it's over.]

The more I think about it, the more I think she just has some unresolved problem which she'll never examine because she's too arrogant and doesnt believe in introspection. She's probably not very self-aware if her emotions are that volatile. And if she continues to explode any time someone says something she doesnt like, she's in for one tough rollercoaster ride for the rest of her life. Seriously, who's going to put up with that? That's walking on eggshells with the person you're supposed to love and care for. She will kill any love anyone has for her quite quickly after two or three outbursts like that. This is what it means to be your own worst enemy. I can't even believe people like this exist, but here it is.
