The Bachelorette 11 - Kaitlyn Bristowe - Epi 3 Jun 1st - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

I am really liking this season.  I enjoyed last night episode, I dont think I laughed so hard.  Kaitlyns ITM's were so funny.  I wanted a different type of season and I am getting it.  

Also they really cant get too much into the story line until Nick gets there. (so they are showing us fluff)
If you noticed they left a lot of relevant stuff on the cutting room floor. We saw more in pics during filming that we didnt even come close to seeing on screen.

So far so good to me.

I can't put my finger on it, but I think having the two bettes at the start of the season annoyed me, as do these to be continued episodes. The fact that the spoilers say she is single and I really don't see her into any of these guys just kind of puts a damper on things for me. Also, the fact that we don't have a lot of travel just further annoys me as that is one of my favourite things about the show.

I hope that once tricky Nicky is back, things pick up in the romance department....even though I know that it is usually all just a sham, but I can't give up on the fantasy. I hope tptb smarten up next season and go back to the more traditional format.

This post is exactly where I'm at too.  You got at why I'm finding them season feels off to me, even though I like Kaitlyn and many of the guys.  I can usually laugh at the silly contrived drama stuff and still enjoy the more real, nice moments with the good guys, but they seem so few and far between and cut short when we get them.

I was so excited for a more fun, less scripted season full of Kaitlyn fun energy and humor and comments, but it's really falling flat for me for the most part.

My only hope is that her devilish grin at seeing Nick means good times are ahead.  Seriously, she looks almost possessed when she says "it's Nick."

ITA. I didn't hit the like button because it would have jammed. 
He may like K. He may really groove to her music. It could have been where they both thought they would make beautiful babies. 
But TPTB only wanted him for their plot and he was a convenient tool that happened to work for them.

I like Shawn Booth this season for sure - but last night I geared a lot towards Josh. He is so funny.  There are a lot of guys that are great, to be honest. I don't like the whole broke back thing they are trying to do, its getting to obvious now when they make up fake drama, imo.
I'm sure the ratings are okay, wonder why they are pushing the bounds and also leaving each Monday with cliffhangers? Weird....
Ben H is hot too....and Ben Z i'm sure will get a lot of new fans after last night.

And Nick coming back is just about the only reason I will keep watching. I really like Kaitlyn's spunky attitude and she says to trust her the ride will be worth it so I'll trust her for now.

These dates were pretty hard to watch tonight....I need some romance. The storyline of JJ and Clint's love story is pathetic and so manufactured...I wonder how much they got for doing it?

I do see chemistry with Shawn, Jared and Ben H...we'll see. I'll stick with it for now somewhat reluctantly.

Producers are showing nothing of Shawn ! What is he like - where's his personality. Why didn't the producers show Shawn giving K his T shirt ? I can't get interested in that possible romance until I see something. He comes across as dull to me. And K doesn't seem thrilled when she is talking about him - no sparkle. I'm inclined to think that there wasn't anything going on with any of the guys at this point.

I was surprised that Shawn comes off as repetitive and a tad bit monotonous during their 1-1 times this epi esp cos of his sexy and attractive voice and the anticipation of wanting to see more of him... it could be the nervous attraction tension between them that's causing that but even that is missing a bit of that bubbly energetic giggly-ness for me....K seems very muted when she's with him...if the attraction is soo intense holding back from them conversing comfortably then I can see where they have to break the tension and he's sex guy. on the other hand he said the same exact things both times he was with her and that is throwing me off a bit...wish they could show us more of their interaction though.

I actually think she's most organically attracted to, comfortable with and connected to -with a growing connection -- to Jared at this point. I feel like both of them have this sparkle, are energetic and excited and gravitating towards each other, bouncing fun flirtation between them etc. at this point

Ben is someone that def shot up in the rankings but I don't think he was on her radar that much till this weeks' dates

I'm starting to think that she likes the macho types (took clint and ben z on first dates but she didn't spark with any of the macho dudes... ) looking forward to more 1-1 time with these ^ guys to see what there is...

That's probably why they brought Nick ( her friend) in. Im leaning towards RS being correct once again. This season is a hot mess, It's really dropped to all time low imo. They have a great group here for BIP though. I agree CHO , shawn is DULL , might be a nice guy, but imo not good looking at all.

I am confused where all his charisma went!! could TPTB have pulled that out of him I feel like he seems like fish out of water right not... and it's confusing me why he comes off that way...

I really don't see anything difference so far between this season and past. Every single season there is some form of nudity, embarrassment, strange contestants and lead bashing. Every single lead gets some sort of backlash for whatever reason. I can think of at least one instance for at least every past lead TB and T'ette where they were hated for one reason or another.

I think there are some great guys and some not so great guys. Again, no different than in all the past seasons of this franchise.

IMO they are just trying to change up the drama by changing up the dates. They are trying to be different.

Some of us want to see a love story. In some seasons we do and others we don't and are thrown for a loop. If there is an engagement, everyone is happy. 9/10 they split up anyway. If there isn't an engagement, somehow the show is a failure because the lead didn't go along with the expectation of getting engaged after 8 weeks.

IMO I watch for the craziness of it all as it takes my mind off of real life issues. Whether I enjoy a season or not, I do find I always want to see how it all unfolds. From a sleuthing standpoint, watching s/caps and the guys come to life and recognizing the hard work is what makes me happy!!

Well, at least I found some eye candy last night in the two Bens. Both seem like nice guys too, and normal for this bunch.

I don't know if it's because of Kaitlyn's personality/style or just a general shift for the producers, but the show is clearly veering into high comedy/train wreck territory this season, and they are not even trying to give the appearance of it being a romance story anymore.  Definitely, these types of dates, both the group AND the 1 on 1s, are set up for the audience to laugh at the participants, who look foolish at best and humiliated at worst.  They didn't used to do that in the past, at least not to this level.

This does remind me a bit of Ashley's season, with some contestants being pretty blatant about how "not interested" in the lead they are.  I think this is actually worse than Ashley's season, because in her case it was mostly Bentley (the other comments were more coerced as a result of a group date), and here we have several guys dissing her seemingly unprovoked.  Even though I am all for girl power, I do sort of think Kaitlyn's "free kissing" policy is backfiring on her.  She's not just kissing guys, she's enthusiastically making out with almost all of them, and it's only the third week.  I also noticed that she's had only two 1 on 1s so far, as opposed to four in past seasons, which makes me wonder why the producers made this change.  Most past female leads have largely saved the kissing for solo dates with one or two exceptions for guys they're really attracted to, but it seems to make no difference to Kaitlyn, as she only appears to need a five minute convo in order to "screen" someone as being worthy of some tongue action. I hate to criticize her, but I do think that the guys seeing this are losing respect for her, and maybe that's contributing to some of them acting like jerks towards her.

Strangely though, despite all this, I'm actually finding the show entertaining for the most part.  Maybe because I'm not invested in getting a happy ending for anybody, and am just enjoying the foolishness for what it is this season.  I expect there is a segment of the viewing audience who feels the same way and isn't disappointed in this downward turn either, although I understand why anyone who watches for the romance would be.

Iron, you always save my texting fingers the work!! ITA with everything you said, including the men losing respect for her. She's fun and free spirited but in this context, where the lead sets the tone, she's setting a frat house tone and it's not winning her any respect points with the men. It reminds me of Jillian where she danced on the table to entertain them versus gliding into the room and bringing a frost with her like Andi and Emily, who expected the men to win them like the leads/prizes they're purported to be on this show. This just wasn't the right setting for Kait's personality and tptb are taking full advantage imo.
