The Bachelorette 11 - Kaitlyn Bristowe - Epi 3 Jun 1st - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

This is a weird season for me. I'm of two minds. I like a bunch of guys, but I don't particularly like any of the dates so far...other than the photo shoot with Clint. On the other hand, on a purely entertainment basis, I did enjoy the comedy date and the two group dates tonight and found myself laughing out loud numerous times.

I like Kaitlyn and enjoy her spunk and her take no prisoners attitude, but I'm not seeing a spark with anyone...despite all the forced kissing. Hopefully, once Nick comes back things will pick up.

I can't put my finger on it, but I think having the two bettes at the start of the season annoyed me, as do these to be continued episodes. The fact that the spoilers say she is single and I really don't see her into any of these guys just kind of puts a damper on things for me. Also, the fact that we don't have a lot of travel just further annoys me as that is one of my favourite things about the show.

I hope that once tricky Nicky is back, things pick up in the romance department....even though I know that it is usually all just a sham, but I can't give up on the fantasy. I hope tptb smarten up next season and go back to the more traditional format.

Gosh, I loved the scary date. But then I love roller coasters, real haunted houses, and scary movies. I thought Ben Z was really sweet.
 Sadly it seemed very scripted like they were being fed the clues.

I thought the sumo wrestling was hysterical. Kaitlin has a huge sense of humor so she needs a guy who can laugh at himself. Enjoyed the school date too.  Sorry people didn't like it.

I like a lot of the guys - Joshua, The Bens, Jared, Shawn and Chris - but we get so little with them.  Overall, TPTB are majorly failing with this one after what was a really well put together and produced Bachelor season, IMO.

So true, they write it to amuse themselves and throw in a bit to like to try for target demo ratings.  I wish they had some women amongst the getting older by the day Boys Club who could freshen the show without the lazy stunts they pull.

I think TPTB have really reached the bottom of the barrel this time.

The "sex education" group date was ridiculous, even if the "children" in the classroom were hired child actors, which was stated. This just does not belong on a public program of any kind.

Also don't like having the rose ceremonies at the beginning. If TPTB are trying to create suspense, they are not succeeding.

If this show tanks very soon, I will not be surprised. JMHO.

I thought I was the only one! I definitely prefer these crazy dates to the stereotypical, boring "romantic" dates. IMO, there isn't much chemistry in the first few episodes because the lead is hanging with a bunch of people he/she just isn't that into, so it helps to make the dates a bit more unique so that it isn't so uneventful.

I guess I am in the minority here but Nick coming on will be even harder to watch this season. He does absolutely nothing for me. In fact he will be fast forwarded for sure and it will make even more sense to tape the season once he appears. Can fast forward his parts as they will no doubt be full of whining and stuff that will get extremely annoying very quickly.

Somehow though, I am doubting what RS says and don't have anything concrete yet other than my source that still swears that RS is wrong, even though I don't see any FD evidence for Chris or anything else for that matter. Still keeping an open mind though.

One thing that seems right though, the first source I had that said that Nick was a pain to the producers and even more so for the other guys seems true going by the previews we do have. Again more reason to fast forward through that faker.

It's a foregone conclusion that the bachelors will be annoyed when Nick shows up. This is his second "turn" so to speak, and if he somehow wants to be the next Bachelor, that would be his "third" turn, which I think is totally unfair. If he somehow is the next Bachelor, I think there will be a lot of objection from guys who wanted a second chance, and will squash the hope that we might get someone new. I just can't imagine him being popular with the fans. JMO.

Obviously Nick is going to be a "pain" to the guys. He's their competition! No different than how Ben's girls reacted when Shawntel came back. I've seen friendly tweets with him and the guys, so it was probably just a bachelor bubble thing.

I haven't really seen anything to suggest that he was a pain to the producers. They already knew him from Andi's season; if he was so awful, they could have just not brought him back. And, given how much RS dislikes him, I'm sure we would have heard of that from him, like we did with Nikki.

Nick and Kaitlyn have been flirting for several months before the show, so I think it's safe to say Kait does feel for him at a certain level, otherwise they would not be chatting for months, let alone allowing him enter the game this late.

So, I think it would also be safe to say Nick will bring out the romantic side of Kait. Then why not just have an open mind to see how these two interact? Hating Nick is one thing, but if there is real connection between these two, it may worth watching.

In my opinion, to dismiss Nick just by the edit he has last season, and draw the conclusion before he even showed up, one may possibly miss out the love story right in front of our eyes .

I agree that I am looking forward to see K and Nick's relationship.  I bet he is nervous to meet her in person at first.  She is his crush.   Like a nervous schoolboy.

But in my opinion, actions speak louder than words. Now he fact that he showed up the way he did speaks volumes IMO.  She did not take well to Clint's laid back approach to her.  IMO, she is excited by Nick's risk for love and shows him by letting him stay.  

I am most interested to see if they show more than the physical chemistry between Nick and K. Like the intellectual and emotional connection as these were some of the most important things to Nick (per his statements during and post last season).  So far that would be unique for K with her guys as they have mostly shown the physical chemistry with all of them.

I agree on Nick's risk and what it says about his character.
K (anyone would be) is a lucky woman to have his interest.
Ultimately, as you also said, it may be that Nick is the "antagonist" or "smokescreen" to Shawn ...
And if that's the case, if K really felt something would happen with Nick, knowing what he gave up, I could understand why she is crying off a balcony in regret and shame in AZ.

I'm sure Kaitlyn liked the attention she was getting from Nick on sm. It's fun and normal! All girls like to be fawned over, not to generalize all women, but I think you know what I mean. Still, Kait isn't shy when it comes to men, she takes what she wants, so if she had wanted Nick, he'd be hers back in March. JMO. 

Regardless, it'll be interesting to see what happens!

This post is exactly where I'm at too. You got at why I'm finding them season feels off to me, even though I like Kaitlyn and many of the guys. I can usually laugh at the silly contrived drama stuff and still enjoy the more real, nice moments with the good guys, but they seem so few and far between and cut short when we get them.

I was so excited for a more fun, less scripted season full of Kaitlyn fun energy and humor and comments, but it's really falling flat for me for the most part.

My only hope is that her devilish grin at seeing Nick means good times are ahead. Seriously, she looks almost possessed when she says "it's Nick."
