Bachelor New Zealand - Matilda

Noticed that in the about me section of TBNZ FB page they have the freeze frame/cover image of the video highlight on Matilda and Art. If you save it and upload it it doesn't automatically go to that point. You select it.

Just figured out that Jessamy who follows both Matilda and Art and vice versa and is in this post by Art was Matilda's roommate where Art is holding Jessamy's legs at the gym.

Matilda also posted about Jessamy leaving as roomate on page Feb 27th which we sleuthed as the date she was on SM and around the time that Art was on a break from filming to attend his mom's wedding.

Great catch AAL, I saw that as well. Wow NZ is a truly small place

IMO Art would need to be more careful around Matilda with the mutual friend connection. Maybe that's why he appeared to stay friend zoned with Matilda based on the little intimacy so far. Even Art said he in the last episode that so far both him & Matilda had just laughed a lot but her telling Art she really liked him might have given him the confidence he needed to build further on their relationship. That being said if Matilda does not get a romantic date on this week's episode; IMO her chances of being F1 will be very slim. Again she is very happy post show so all is well

I predict that Matilda will get a date on Wednesdays episode. It is still only 4-5 in real life when the next episode was filmed that Matilda broke her wrist. She might not have been physically up for a date this coming episode and definitely one that required swimming.

If Matilda and Art don't kiss before HTDs then she is not F1, imo. Will have to see if things change should she get a second SD and likely she will next episode. 

It really is all about Matilda or Alysha for me for potential F1 but not necessarily meaning that they are F2 (Matilda could leave before that).

Yes, we need to see something physical between the two in the next couple episodes. If not I'm afraid it will be tough to continue on the Matilda as F1 train.

What is interesting is that Matilda told him she likes him and he was surprised a bit.

If she is F1 I would really like to know why Art took so long to kiss her.

ElonM, if Matilda is not F1 then I will think she was a producer plant as speculated. 

She and Art get their own theme music and have since the first episode. 

She is basically narrating the whole show from the beginning and is seen as worried about the other girls and their dates (the camera always goes to her when other girls get SDs. We even heard her lament that she never got the SQT on the group shooting date). 

Matilda and Alysha have also been separated on all group dates that don't involve all the girls (so excluding the horse and model dates). 

She is also seen looking upset when Art gives Alysha a rose before rose ceremony in Ep 5. "Doubts are starting to creep in" we hear Matilda say in VO.

I still think that maybe Art was looking for Matilda to be more interested in him romantically on their first Single Date. I had posted about this at the time, but I noticed that it was Matilda that initiated high-fiving with Art on their bungy jumping date - almost like she was friendzoning him a bit compared to Alysha who took his hand and holds his hand whenever they talk. Art and Matilda rarely touch each other... 

If there is no kiss or no spark when they kiss or we don't see Art telling Matilda he likes her (because he hasn't told her this at all. He has told Poppy, Alysha and Dani he likes them and asked them for a kiss too) then I will think she was producer planted and with no kiss it is no worry off her back.

I am just wondering if the Season Preview really told the whole story. I speculated that the VO from the host Mike saying "True love" with the image of Art and Alysha would be the *tell* if the preview was a spoiler for F1.

Also, if Matilda was seen at XFactorNZ and is not F1 then they could very well have had her there and panned to her in the crowd just to make people keep thinking she is F1 when she is not.

I don't know what NZ wants from their first season of the show....  to hide the F1 with no intro video (and you don't see her until Ep 5 talk to the lead) or to have a more obvious edit... Given that NZ is so small maybe they are going with the hidden edit since everyone knows everyone there? Or if Matilda is F1 then it was a more obvious edit for her so they are more inclined to support the F1 post-show than hide her and add the drama.

This season feels like nothing I have watched before that is what makes it so bizarre. Especially given how many SDs there have been rather then more 2nd SDs.

It is bizzare and I would be disappointed if Matilda is a plant. Hopefully I see a spark between Matilda and Art this week.

Given this is the first season of BachelorNZ I don't think the public unlike us will be looking for theme music so I guess this could be a something good.

I'll be disappoint if Alysha is F1 since I didn't see the connection. Rather I'm yet to see it.
