Chris Soules - Whitney Bischoff - Bachelor 19 - Discussion

It is very entertaining to read all the posts in this thread. If I were to summarize everyone's humble opinion, this is what the MAJORIY is saying:

-Chris and Whitney has no chemistry, no PDA, no passion off/on camera, hence NOT "in-love"

-Chris is doing all these for fame, using Whitney to extend popularity; he's more in love with F2; he does not give Whitney the 'focus' she deserves  blah, blah  HENCE he is a just a lying, self-centered fame-whore

-Chris cannot dance, he spends more time with other Witney, cannot articulate a coherent thought, puts foot-in-mouth when he speaks, he is awkward, and he's supposedly planting a gorgeous fiancee in a middle-of-nowhere farmland, thus he's nothing more than a gauche, mumbling, hill-billy farmer

-Whitney is more in-love him. She's gorgeous, mature, driven, supportive. She even re-arranged her entire life for him. Seems like  she's more of the "catch" than him.

So based on your humble opinion (not mine, I am a fan)
The Verdict: Chris and Whitney are going to split up in about 3 months (as RS predicted) and Whitney should have been the NEXT BACHELORETTE!

I see this going one of two ways 1) within 3 months of them moving back to the farm permanently, they will split or 2) After 3 months on the farm with Chris, their marriage is a done deal. DWTS is hard on their rship, but imo no where near the difficulties they will face when whitney is initially permanently residing on the farm

ITA with the bolded. I'm going for option 3 though. That is, she never actually moves to the farm and they split amicably soon after the Bachelorette starts airing.

I think it would be impossible to be "mentally really there" for someone else while he's doing DWTS. And if someone asked Sean L. (they probably did) he would probably agree with Chris. DWTS has got to be all consuming with very little free time and emotionally and physically draining. I think the audience has no idea the effort that goes into doing DWTS. He wants to do well and I'm sure the amount of effort he's is putting into the rehearsals indicates how committed he is. I would be shocked if he said he was 100% mentally there, how in the world could he be or anyone else that does this show? And Whitney sees how hard Chris is working and understands that.

That's the vibe that I've gotten since the ATFR - DWTS is his one and only priority right now, and Whitney only comes up in his mind when she helps to win him votes or get him some good PR.

Did anyone watch Dylan's interview? It was interesting. He talked about how Chris was one of his best friends on the show and he cried when he had to say good-bye to him during Andi's season, but now that Chris has become such a celebrity, he hasn't talked to him much. He didn't seem bitter or angry about it or anything, but it does kind of make me think that fame has changed Chris, like RS implied.

Sure the only reason Chris is not in contact with Dylan & I am sure with many of his other friends at the moment is because he is too busy on DWTS. Did not follow Sean & Cat, but have read somewhere that she felt quite left out when Sean was doing DWTS. Think anyone in DWTS would be extremely busy especially if one did not have much dancing experience.

I can't say for sure but it seemed like Dylan was talking mostly about the time while the bachelor was airing because he said something like (paraphrased) "I don't blame him...he's hanging out with Jimmy Kimmel every other night and doing Ellen." Who knows, though?

^^^ It is way too soon to say Whit and Chris are a "successful" couple. I think most have wished them well, but were concerned about his behavior (and hers) on the show, at the ATFR, and now in the "real world." Time will tell, and I am happy to have this forum to post my opinions, even though they don't mesh with a lot of other posters. ;)

It would not surprise me one bit if Chris and Whit break-up. There is a very weird and something is off vibe with them. This is JMO I do like Whit and think she is beautiful, and I hope she is taking the time after the show, to get to know Chris, and decide if the "lifestyle" change of moving to his farm is worth it. All just my opinion.

I agree with those that say there's something "off" about what's going on but I do also think it could be that both of them are committed to putting their best foot forward and trying to make it work, in earnest.

Being part of the pre-sleuthing for thebette / Kaitlyn is really showing me how short and contrived the time is on the show to truly get to know someone (virtually no private time). And so when past couples who've made it have said the true relationship starts outside of the show I totally believe them. It really counts what happens in the real world, outside the adventure, in their private spaces.

yes, it's possible to read compatibility on the show as well and when whitney and chris are concerned, I'm really sad to say but CS seemed to be in a position where he simply had to take the girl that will be OK with moving to Arlington and then he had to make the most of it - he got a wife and his family is happy and she seems fantastic. whether she offers him the "over the top in love" feeling (potentially how infatuated he was with Becca) or the adventurous spirit (Kaitlyn and her dynamism) he made the decision and committed to it. I feel it's premature to label him a fame-whore without any intention of trying to make the relationship work.

I don't think the fact that he might have "settled" for someone that gives him what he needed more so than what he wanted is necessarily a bad thing. Many people grow to love each other deeper and deeper and marriage is much more than the infatuation phase that this show/hollywood romanticizes. If Whitney and him grow in intimacy and the attraction is there physically -- they could grow to love each other much more.

I do see him putting the effort...and I believe he does want it to work. And obviously I also think Whitney wants it reallyyyy badly -- he has the package she wants. I wish him and Whitney all the best and the happiness and the love between them to continue to grow -- however "awkward" may seem to others. Time will ALWAYS tell with the couples.

Some of us articulated hesitations about the Andi-Josh pairing particularly having to do with Andi (the lead always comes under fire)...the misgivings articulated by those on this board may or may not have led to the breakup. I do think that every couple from this show has hurdles to overcome and depending on how compatible they are and how being in each other's presences makes them feel...they're still really getting to know eachother as the show ends! they could grow to overcome the problems or the problems could get in the way.

Like any couple in the real world - time will tell if the glimmers of "something off" are growing into real issues or being addressed to bring the couple closer and more in love together.

I haven't been following Chris & Whitney's  story and have only read this page in the thread so forgive me if this has already been said.

IMO Chris wants and needs a woman who will support him in his goals.  Whitney is a very supportive person.  On the surface, this bodes well for them.  If a problem does arise, I think it will be because he pushes the boundries too hard by taking advantage of her good will.  Now that DWTS is nearer its conclusion, he would do well to take less and give more.  
I could see this relationship going either way.

Very odd vibe.  He posts more pics with Witney and celebrities than his own fiancee.       Time.will.tell.

It is interesting how much people analyze that "chemistry" and time spent with their dancing partner of all of the bachelor contestants. There are many on the show that have been married or in relationships. Alfonzo who was Witney's partner last season was married. You never heard about his wife and no one asked how him and his wife were dealing with it all. I think their relationship and chemistry is way over analyzed.
