^^^^ Yikes! Why don't they just get back "to normal??" So weird imo.

Oh well time will tell like many keep saying! LOL

She's promoting something she feels strongly about, women's fertility, not pushing fashion products etc. She promoted a foundation that is helping women freeze their eggs that can't afford it in the last interview... Hardly call that self promoting. If she announces she froze her eggs it's to bring awareness and promote the clinic and like she said "I walk the talk". I admire her for doing her own thing and staying true to her own passions while Chris is going after his.

She froze them a few years ago per her interview in Chicago. She explains it pretty well, someone can link to it here.

If that's the case then again - seems weird that she needs to come on GMA to share that with America.
More unnecessary tabloid fodder, IMO. Guess we shall find out soon enough.

It's part of her job duties. I think egg frozen is a serious topic and what she is doing is very meaningful. It's not just tabloid material and it shouldn't be. Yes, her employer want to use her name to promote their company. But raising public awareness of egg frozen is still positive and very important. I considered to froze my eggs few years ago. My boyfriend and I didn't want child at that moment, but we were not sure if we will change our mind in the future. However, at that time, the price was very expensive, and I was a little bit scared. I am kind of regret that I didn't go through the procedure at that time since younger egg is healthier.

I think she is very brave to share her experiences and I admire what she is doing.

Totally agree and I am scratching my head too. Whatever happened to "back to normal life on the farm??" Oh well, this just solidifies my opinions.

Still will wish them well. I hope they figure things out. Happy to have this thread to voice opinions, positive AND negative.

This isn't a knock on Whitney, or anyone else, for that matter. Whether one takes advantage of their fame, to promote fashion stuff, weight loss stuff, or women fertility stuff, it all boils down to the same thing. They are all promoting stuff! One person isn't better than the other, based on how they use their opportunities, and what they choose to promote. Yes, if it will benefit you and increase your business or earning potential, it is self promotion. Show me the person who quietly goes back to normal, regular life (Chantal), after being on this show, and I'll show you the one who's truly different. Otherwise, they are all in the same boat, to me.

I guess this is kind of unprecedented, Whitney using her platform not to promote shoes, bags, or diet pills, but something of substance that she is equally educated and passionate about. 

Now I'm not knocking others because they all do it to some extent, but it's nice to see something other than the usual stuff talked about.

It is not unprecedented. So many past casts have gone on to promote what they love and were doing before going on the show, things they were passionate about, too. Even some of the ones who promoted shoes, bags, and diet pills, were also passionate about that. I believe Andi has always been interested in fashion. Desiree in Wedding related stuff. Chris L in home improvements, Ali F in being on TV etc. They may not be about women's health, but they were equally important to those people, and, to me, their passions shouldn't be pooh-poohed.

Well I admit to pooh poohing on a few of those chosen 'passions' but that's for another thread.

I will wait to see what Whit actually says/does on GMA. I'm just speculating that it's for/about her work but I'll eat my words if it's not .

I agree. I think it's great that she's using her fame for the benefit of her employer and to promote something she actually knows something about. It shows she's serious about what she does, unlike all these people who try to parlay their fame into a new career in entertainment/fashion.

I have no idea what she'll talk about but didn't hear anything about keeping a secret from Chris as stated in a previous post. If she's talking about what she works on then good for her. Beats tshirts and weight loss pills IMO.

For those who feel she shouldn't do this, would you really turn down GMA when they called? I certainly don't see a down side.

I don't know anyone who isn't the lead going on GMA post show to promote their organizations be it books, handbags or shoes anything else. And if they have certainly not 2 weeks after the shows over. And of course she is promoting herself --- as an ambassador for fertility and her company. GMA did not announce that is spokesperson for fertility would be on the show, they said Whitney Bischoff.  

Personally, I'm not going to freeze my eggs because the winner of Bachelor 9 says I should but hey that's me. I'm sure many others will find value in what she has to say but to say is not self promotion is inaccurate, IMO

As someone who knows - GMA does need to ask people to be on GMA.
Agents and PR people pitch to be on the show.
