It's got to be an awkward situation that Chris is in. I'm sure he has been told by Sean and others to expect a lot of criticism and gossip about Witney and the touching/connection. Since he is in love with Whitney, which I believe, balancing all of that would be difficult. Keeping everyone happy, trying to ignore the trash thats written in the mags and SM all why trying to do the best he can, work long hours and in pain with his hamstring, nurture a new relationship and hopefully have some fun! Impossible task from my perspective!

Sorry, but Chris is not acting like a man who is in love and wants to show it. I remember Des saying she may not have gotten what she wanted but she got what she needed. Chris's words and actions are not making it seem like he is thrilled to have Whitney. And IMO, she deserves better than a man who including the AFTR, has made it seem like his fiancé is just there and not someone he is darn lucky to have. I think Whitney deserves better than farmer douche. Sorry JMO.

There's no comparison between Des and Chris. Chris had all his options and chose Whitney. Des lost her F1 option and chose Chris. Des moving in with Chris is not an indicator that their relationship was any stronger than Chris and Whitney's. From the outside looking in it could look as if Des was over compensating/downplaying the Brooks thing by making a big move so quickly.

As for the bold, His hands weren't all over Jade. He rubbed her arm and took her hand because she was visibly upset and crying.

Whitney was well aware of the influence that the family is in his life. She wanted their approval because she knew that it was important to Chris. No secret there.

I don't see "tons of stuff" let alone "tons of stuff" with Witney. Even if there was, he does need to promote the show. That doesn't mean he has to promote his relationship. Chris isn't under any obligation to "show" his love for Whitney to the world. He only needs to show her. From what we know for fact they sound like a normal couple in love to me. They've been hanging out since the show wrapped . Whitney took a different position with her office to be able to work from anywhere. They're having talks and "discussions", they're making love "as much as possible". Whitney likes his ass the best. He said he wouldn't have agreed to DWTS if Whitney wasn't on board and ATM They're living in LA together having the time of their lives.

I totally get what you are saying Stuck, and I agree - IMO Chris should not have joined DWTS - he has gone from one whirl wind to another without time to breathe in between.  Regarding the bolded, I think I would try to see if it was the person she was in the relationship with or all the outside forces that were causing her to withdraw.  It's hard to tell from where we sit.

For Whitney, it must be even harder.  Whitney's close friend, who coincidently is the woman who many people judge to be Chris' true love, openly wears the bracelets Chris gave her for her Birthday to the AFTR prompting speculation, and post pictures wearing a necklace Chris gave her, causing more talk about who loves who, or who loves who more? Whitney, who I suspects, values herself based on her successes, is having to deal with people predicting her failure.  Is it Chris who is causing her pain or other forces beyond her control?  I don't know?

That tells me that Whitney is confident in her relationship and isn't concerned about any lingering feelings that Chris may or may not have for Becca and Becca knows it. Becca doesn't strike me as a person who would be purposely cruel to wear jewelry that her friends fiancé gave her when they were dating. If anything that's just another clue that the ending of this season was highly edited to show conflict out of context. Speculation is just that, Speculation. Those 3 know the truth.

I only watched Chris's segment once, but I certainly didn't hear him say Witney was younger and hotter than Whitney. He did say in an interview that he gives Witney dating advice and sees himself as her uncle. Gosh, I hope that comment isn't twisted into something unseemly.

Hopefully Sean prepared Chris for all the nonsense that goes with being engaged to an incredible woman you met on the Bach show. Maybe he advised Chris to ask Whitney to come to rehearsal when it's a steamy latin dance like he did with Cat!

She was holding his hand at ATFR IMO (at least for the first segment). He had his thumb as high off of her hand as he could get it. It was really odd to me.

Caught the clip of Chris, Whitney and Mama Soules in the car leaving from the DWTS premier party and Whitney and Mama Soules were chatting up a storm and Mama Soules was smiling from ear to ear.  Happy and exciting times for them.

I never said he did...in fact the only thing in quotes is "mental hurdle".
As for Chris saying he's like an uncle - what else is he gonna say?!
But his actions seem like anything but IMO
