ITA!  I think Chris was in love with Becca.  He even admitted it on ATFR, which shocked me considering his fiancée was backstage.  Hopefully, she had headphones on.    Becca is a rare jewel and I think he knew her feelings weren't in the same place as his were...yet, so he picked the sure thing.  Have you checked out the video TLA made?  It's in Becca's fan thread.  Talk about a strong connection!  

Chris was "Falling in love "with Kaitlyn too , he was falling in love with multiple women (as the lead does ALL the time with the F3). He was "IN LOVE " with Whitney and that's why Whitney is engaged to him today and is the girl by his side. (And Chris wanted the world to know that he LOVES HER).

That is the job of the producers/editors in a nutshell...every season. They have to hide the connection with the F1 or there would be no show. They have to show some of it of course, otherwise the viewers would be left . They have to make sure there is at least one other plausible person the lead could be interested in. That person becomes the F2 and generally, that is the person who is shown to have the "connection" for viewers. It's the same every season. Now some can see through that, but many average viewers who just goes by what they see on their screen, typically fall for it.

Look at it this way. If early on there is someone who you think the lead has a connection with, but all of a sudden, about half way through the season, someone else is being thrust at you and their "connection" becomes the focus while you barely see the first person you thought they had a connection with...but, they are still getting roses and there aren't any real issues going on with (comparing Britt and Whitney here), then chances are the newer connection is F2 and the original is F1. The editors are very good at what they do. Even seasoned sluthers may come to question themselves. I know I often do, but then, I take a deep breath, and remember how the show and editing works and generally come back to my senses.

Just read the US magazine and I think they nailed it. He was crazy about Becca and was very confused till the end . Chris even said he could definitely see the love that Chris had for Becca. But he knew that Becca was not ready for a proposal or wiling to move at that time. He did beg Becca till the end and saw that she was not going to budge. So he picked Whitney the one he knew was ready to settle down and move for him. He has now fallen in love with Whit but Becca did have his heart during the show and the after. Not exact words since I did read it standing in line at the grocery store.

I agree with all the above!  Thats what I keep saying.......the unedited ATFR!  If you watch really close too....after they sit down, Becca says, "its so good to see you." Then Chris started to say something back but couldnt get it out and then swallowed hard/gulped. He was clearly uncomfortable.  If he didnt "feel" something for her, he wouldnt have acted like that....he would have been over it by then.

I'm sorry but I keep hearing about the hug at the AFTR...Chris is just a hugger. Every time I see him anywhere, he is hugging someone. Of course he is going to hug his F2. He is not going to act like a jerk like JPab. He clearly cared about her and some of his other longer lasting ladies. I'm of the firm belief that tptb knew this about Chris and told Britt to do the hug thing because he would respond. It just seems to be his normal modus operandi. Nothing really outstanding there for me.

I just watched the beginning of Becca on ATFR - The Hug….I think she is saying something at the end of that hug as I hear Chris respond right before they part.   I think that is why he continued to hug her, to hear what she was saying.   I also think that he tried very hard with all of the women both at the WTA and Becca to actively listen and talk to them.   He turned his body towards them respectfully, listened carefully, made eye contact and tried to answer as best as he could.

I watched ATF again today and I think Whitney is uncomfortable in the sit down live interview format. She was kinda out of breath and wide eyed.  I also think she was very nervous since the situation is out of her control which I think she finds hard.   I'm not sure it is an indication of the relationship as much as Whitney herself.  

But time will tell.

IMO, tptb threw away the notion that there has to be a proposal at the end long ago.   The seasons that have received the biggest buzz are those with a true twist in the end.  Brad 1.0  JPG  and even Des had people talking.  TPTB don't care if you love or hate it just so long as you're talking about it.

Yeah, but Chris choosing to date Becca long-distance to see if she could fall in love with him wouldn't be a twist, it would just be anti-climatic. Even weaker than Bob's promise ring or Jesse's 1-way ticket to NY. I think the only way they would have salvaged that would have been to edit Chris to seem like he was insincere about finding a wife. Which was one of the biggest insults thrown at JP and Ben in their seasons. I don't think Chris would risk that.

And, Becca has already said that she knew that it was over between her and Chris after that hotel room discussion. She said that she knew that the Bachelor always ended in a proposal, and if she wasn't there yet, he wouldn't choose her. So, I think that Becca just showed up to the FRC as a formality, but she was pretty much checked out after their date.

Chris warned us the very first night that he is a hugger.  He also said in an interview that he's a touchy feely guy.  I believe he holds the record for most Bachelorettes kissed in a season.   I don't believe for one second or 4 (which was the amount of time that Chris hugged Becca, Whitney's was right around 10) that CH was keeping CS from sticking his foot in poo.  CH is a company man.  It's more than likely he would have stayed quiet and let Chris stick his entire body in the poo.  Drama Sells.
