Re: what I bolded - Becca could have written an alternate script for the movie How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days because she did just about everything she could to keep Chris from picking her; she actually looked happy (and smiled) when he did break up with her. No tears - not even in the limo afterwards. The thing that most blew my mind was when she proposed a long distance romance if Chris picked her - to a guy who had spent 7 years with a girl that ended up in a long distance romance that didn't work out (they almost never do); talk about a red flag! It was completely weird in the context of this show, and I think she had absolutely zero interest in Chris or Arlington IA or anything that Chris could possibly offer. She's dated a (minor) celebrity in the past and I think she never had any intentions of being a farmer's wife and little interest in being a farmer's girlfriend - her sights are set higher than that.

I think had any of the things you suggested actually happened, she would have found some other excuse.

Just one minor correction of fact. Becca dated that minor celebrity back in Louisiana before he was nothing more than the cute football player who could sing.

I disagree with the rest of your post but that is only my opinion.

I've read the contract and it is pretty tight, though it's mostly legal and assignments of rights and release from liability more so than that it governs conduct. But there's this fascinating clause in it:

I have received, read and understood the description of the Series (“The Series Guidelines”), as provided by Producer, and I have voluntarily applied to participate in the Series.

Now I have never seen "The Series Guidelines" (though if anyone happens to have a spare copy lying around - PM me because I'd like to see it Hugesmile

) but I think that's where certain behaviors are defined. I think one thing should be pretty obvious though - each season of the show ends with the lead professing that they are in love with two people and can't decide who to pick until some magic moment just before the FRC gives them clarity and they pick their F1. The fact that every season ends with the lead saying the same thing and that thing is pretty preposterous in the first place should be a huge clue that this is all part of the show story board - a made up fantasy the show invents - whether true or not - because it creates drama at the end. I think there may have been a couple of seasons I've watched where this might have had some truth to it, but only a couple.

Yes, she knew him back in Louisiana befor either went to California. So she was with him before the minor celebrity. She was not dating him for his minor celebrity. I watched both of Dez's try outs for the voice when they originally aired. I have a soft spot for men from Louisiana and Texas.

Yes, she was there, but they had dated for years before that! He was a local, hometown guy she grew up with before they started dating. That's one reason she said she'd never really brought a guy home before, because she'd grown up with him so there's was no formal, bring him home thing. And I think he was part of the reason she moved to California, but someone correct me if I'm remembering wrong.

ETA: so yes, she dated a minor celeb, but he wasn't a celeb when they started dating.

Haha! I think you are in the minority but it happens every season I guess. You were not around for the post finale discussion, but most of the conversations have been very civil and most have been very respectful. Lots of differing opinions though. It has been fun actually! I know I saw some things and read some things that gave me pause. I do wish they were going back to Iowa but that is just my opinion. I wish the final couple the best. Smiley

My point was less whether he was a celebrity when they started dating and more that she has gotten a "taste" of the California fast lane through that experience and he was the catalyst. She has stayed in California, expressed an intent to go back to California and I think she is more likely than not to settle in California. Nothing at all is wrong with that unless you're a farmer from Iowa and have little interest in doing anything more than visiting California on your way back to Iowa.

People say mean things about the couples every season. Does not mean they are true. Mean and nasty sells tabloids.
