But....she also said the the orphanage date help "solidify" her feelings about Ben. So she definitely had feelings about Ben early on and as we have seen, they have continued to grow. Once again, not saying she doesn't pick JP, but he was not the only one she cared for.

Okay, Ben got noticed by Ashley on episode 4, I will give you that , but ASHLEY'S heart was already beating hard for JP(passionate beach kiss). At this point in the season, JP was already on 3rd base and getting ready to run to home plate(FRC).Ben is only on 1st base going to 2nd.

And later in the date, even after the passionate beach kiss, she speaks of her feelings for Ben in front of all the guys and gives him the group date rose. What I found significant is, the ONLY time Ben and JP go head to head for a rose ( in the group date) , Ben got the rose.

It would be a rare day in may for either of the F2 to openly declare their undying love and affection for the Bach/ette at this point in the show So I disagree TITOU. Many a time HTDs are a real turning point

I thought Willie and Bentley were the rabbits. Well, Bentley was more of a Mad March Hare... or a Utah White-tailed Jack Rabbit. Willie actually looks like a rabbit... I think his "round" features are what made Ashley constantly hop around him during his Las Vegas date. Wonder if somebody could decorate a PI screencap for me? Ryan, of course, is the Rocketship who got to "jump in and grab her NOW" first. Looks like both Jordan and Ben are both twertles by comparison...

Episode 4 was right after Bentley left, and Ashley realized at that point that she needed to start giving some other guys second looks because her top contenders were falling by the wayside (Bentley gone, and William shooting himself in the foot). She didn't really feel much chemistry with the other guys that she had already had solo dates with besides JP (Mickey, Ben C, Constantine), and I think she was iffy on Ryan after they made out the episode before (don't think she felt any sparks and started questioning his placement in F4), so she needed to explore on the orphanage date who else she felt a connection with.

Ben mentioned to her that he noticed her buzzing around him more than usual, which kind of proves that she was finally starting to pay him some serious attention, and really hadn't before then (and clearly IMO, hadn't kissed him up until then either). She definitely enjoyed her time with Ben, and saw him as more of a possible contender than the other guys she had spent more time with, other than JP. So, since JP had gotten the solo date rose the previous episode anyway, there was no way the producers were going to let her give him another one even if she wanted to. But she knew at that point, I believe, that she wanted to bump Ben up into the contender tier after their 1 on 1 time together and give him a solo date at the next location, so giving him the date rose first was a logical move in that direction.

I am still confused on this. She states that she felt so alone - that she didn't feel she could stay on in the show. What is there to convince me that JP was important to her at this stage? Why would she be ready to give up if she had a spark with JP? She doesn't need more than one to fall for. She was so snowed with Bentley - what was her situation with JP?
Why do we "know" that Ben and Ashley had never had a kiss before? Ben and Ashley were holding hands during their conversation after the orphanage date and Ben went right in for the kiss - no hesitation at all. I got the impression that their relationship had stepped up a bit because Ashley was feeling something. It did not seem like a first kiss at all - especially since we have come to know that Ben is a cautious type.

It is very possible that the producers told her - you have to have a contender (ie Ben) to divert from your growing interest in JP - but I am not seeing it that way. It appeared to me that perhaps Ben was a slow starter - more cautious - wanted to see what they had in common - all of which we missed - but when bentley left Ashley began to notice the others more - and found an interest in Ben. When I look at the first date with JP - they are not holding hands - they eat the Chinese food across from each other. Getting into pajamas is supposed to show they are moving up to a different level (we saw with Chantal that that was not the case...) - but Ashley fell asleep ! On the HK date - while eating dinner - they were not holding hands - they were having their deep discussion about Bentley. I don't know but every time we see Ben and Ashley together - they are holding hands - constant contact...

By the time JP and Ashley get to their first 1 on 1, they've already had the coin toss kiss. Then On JP and Ashley's first 1 on 1, they are hugging on each other the moment he hit the door. I counted 3 hugs before dinner.

Cho..Re HK date , they were sitting uncomfortably beside each other on the park lawn holding chopsticks on their hands, so they could not really hold hands.They kissed a few times and held hands in the tram.That tram scene showing JP hugging Ash tightly from behind and kissing her was as hot as it can get, hotter than holding hands

The second half of your post referred to BL which I am terrible at reading!!! Her looks sometimes look all the same to me.

As far as the kiss. I believe they did kiss before the orphanage date. I think Ben even told JP that they did. Why they didn't show it? ehh reminds me of Reid. Maybe he did comfort her after the Roast date and they did end up kissing but for whatever reason TPTB did not feel it was important at the time. Instead we got to see Ryan work his moves and get the rose. :puke:
