ITA, Jeepers. We don't know if he was teasing or if it was in answer to a question of Ashley's because he'd already told her on their date that his mom's/sister's opinion was really important but they'd see how happy he is with her so would be fine. In any case I believe Ashley would be happy that his family is so important to him and not sure how that's a red flag.

I really thought Ben said he had dated since his dad died but nothing serious.

Re: GSG/JP walking away. Someone said that because they showed Ashley being upset with him it must mean he's f1 but that's not until the last previews where we actually see the guys' faces. We'll have to hang tough and see what they show us then.

ITA, Jeepers. We don't know if he was teasing or if it was in answer to a question of Ashley's because he'd already told her on their date that his mom's/sister's opinion was really important but they'd see how happy he is with her so would be fine. I agree. This season, apparently, has some surprises that we don't know yet. I'm curious if Ryan is going to be an advice giver or a "take me back" king of guy. Somehow, I think it is advice. He only wants to see her happy!! To me, JMHO, if we can figure out Ryan's role in the scheme of things, then we can see a bigger picture.

I hope that he comes back to just give Ashley advice, since I think she made it pretty clear how she felt about him, but CH said this about Ryan's return:

He definitely left wondering, “How could I have been so wrong and was I so wrong? Was she right in pulling the plug that early and not seeing if there was something else there?” So I think there were a lot of questions left unanswered out there.

and I think if he had an earlier 1:1, lets say week 3 or week 4, he would have had a chance with her. The mixed signals to give him a rose at group dates was just that: I like you. I think she was indeed attracted with his energy but he was a bit too intense for her and seems to have a few miles in advance from her (reaction when he kiss her hand) plus of course the stronger feelings she had for others.

It is easy to say that she kept the guys who showed her that they liked HER and gave her a reinsurance on her insecurities. Ryan was perfect for this role

I really think you are on to something there. Maybe he needs the one more date where he can answer questions of his own. Maybe by this process, he helps Ashley decide on who her final one is going to be.

Ryan returns to get answers as to why she dumped him as these answers are integral to setting him as next Bach and add an extra little something for dramatic effect.... just like Ali's phone call set her up as next B'ette. tptb are pretty certain at this point who the lead is going to choose and who they think will make the best lead for the following season. I think just like Jake's season when they couldn't see Gia or Tenley carrying a show, they don't see Ben, Dino or Ames as being able to carry it off so they decided on Ryan. Ryan may not end up being the next Bach but I think at that point in filming he was who they had in mind.

I think Ryan's just the backup plan if JP or Ben turns them down. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the BP2 guys are also potential bachelors in that case but less likely. Bringing Ryan back leaves the option open just like Reid but doubt very much Ryan would turn them down.
