I think Ryan's just a backup in case the F2 rejects them like Chris L. did. I know a lot of people see the similarities between him and Jake and them both returning to the show, but we have to remember Jake was third choice behind Reid and Kiptyn. JP or Ben will be first choice for sure, depending on which one is F2.

Is there any chance it could be Chris Harrison, who went to calm Ashley in between F2 and F1? He wears a lot of gray suits. Sorry if this has already been considered and dismissed, I missed it.

That has been in the back of my mind too... I still think it is Jordan and she's about to cry (happy cry probably). Yet, that Life & Style Weekly paragraph gave me pause, suggesting more of a time gap between F2 and F1.

This is quoted from an "eyewitness" (yeah, right) in that June 27th issue, and with a questionable date too:

"Before the rose ceremony on May 13, Neil Lane helped the bachelors pick out the perfect engagement ring," the eyewitness reveals. While that was happening, the crew set up the ideal spot for the proposal.
"There's a beautiful terrace perched at the end of the island where you can see the sunset, the perfect place for a proposal," the eyewitness raves. "It would be hard not to say yes if someone proposed to you there!"

This magazine is in cahoots with Fleiss, so it is hard to determine what is truth and what is Fleissian fogscreen. In addition, it does not confirm anything, just suggests a place. However, it does at least HINT the possibility that the proposal happens much later in the evening. If we do not get abc medianet photos of both final 2, I am going to get suspicious here.

Now, one line below may match a screencap, but read the first line carefully... it has me totally baffled...

... and finally - in the last days of filming - Fiji, where Ashley met the finalists' families. After one of the meetings, an eyewitness spotted Ashley walking hand in hand with one of the guys on the beach at the Vomo Island Resort on May 11. "They stopped for some hugging and kissing," the eyewitness reveals. "They clearly had a bond. And it couldn't have been more romantic with the stunning backdrop of the ocean and the islands behind them."

"finalists' families"? Typo? Do they just mean her parents or did both Ben and JP's families come down? The word is plural, so it could not be just one.

Again, I take what I read tongue-in-cheek, but there is a lot in that article that is curious. They confirm an engagement and say nothing about a marriage, but "something" may be hidden with the May 11 to 13 date confusion.

As Ashley says, where is credibility in the tabloids?

Until I actually see the context in which it was said, there is no way to know if he was dead serious or just joshing her chains. Having seen his sense of humor I tend to believe the later. I have no doubt that his mom and sister are very close, but I doubt it would be a complete deal breaker.

It has made me wonder ALOT if she had a start over experience in a way. Well, actually I believe she even said something to that effect with the leaving of Bentley. If so that may have changed things up seeing as Ben did have his first 1n1 shortly after that.

Even if Ben is not F1, then I think this experience opened up some things for him personally regarding moving on in life since the passing of his dad. An awakening of sorts.

There is no way that Ben would give serious weight to his family's judgement about Ashley in one brief meeting. If his heart is involved it is. No one can talk you out of falling in love. He will make the decision on who he is going to marry by himself, be it Ashley or someone else.

JBF you have expresssed some of the same thought I have been having..I am wondering IF there is more to the FRC than what we think..Maybe there is 3 color of suits but the ones with the grey suit maybe a different time hence is why we see NO background..I am also wondering in some of the ones of Ashley her shoulder straps are a different dress..Just over thinking here...

I think this season has taught them that who hey choose as lead is extremely important. As much as I love Ashley and want her to get her happy ending... she's not the best of leads and this season is quite boring, especially her date activitiies. JP could do it I think but I don't think he's an option Ben is just too laid back, Dino would be a disaster as lead, and dear sweet Ames ... what can I say except as intelligent as he seems to be... he's just.... well, like I've mentioned before, like he's living on Space Mountain. Ryan has the energy, occupation, looks and charm to carry it off. I think he'd be an interesting Bach, to say the least.

I will repeat what I said in another thread:

JP very early on re-insured her that he had feelings "what do you think?" and I think he said it twice: when they had this smokey hot kiss and when they had their second 1:1 date. So there is no doubt on her mind that he is in love with her. This is not at all the case with ben when he profess that he is teetering another level. YUCK! If I was a woman, hearing that would make me wondering if the guy will EVER reach the top level uh?

That's true. At least he wouldn't be boring like Brad was and he seems more genuine than Jake is. I think there would be a lot of cringe-worthy moments on his season if he was the Bachelor, though.

It would be a rare day in may for either of the F2 to openly declare their undying love and affection for the Bach/ette at this point in the show So I disagree TITOU. Many a time HTDs are a real turning point

I think the OMG could have been f2 which I believe is GSG walking away without Ashley. I don't recall that ever happening before.

I do not see a wedding no matter how much Fleiss wants it. Ashley's no dummy and has talked to other leads going into the show so knows the end is just the beginning of the relationship.

ITA about the Tortoise and the Hare, Jeepers. Ben's getting the dark horse edit which isn't usual with the f2 person.
