Wow! At the base of his thumbs, he has a little bump... so no doubt now that hands holding Ashley are Ben's! And it's also Ben stepping out of seaplane (watch, hands just confirms it for me). Tks for that SC! Oooo Nice smile from Ben, he's a cutie!

Wasn't sure where to put this, but looking back in hindsight, Jillian is crying and upset letting Kiptyn go. Then, after Kiptyn left, Reid came back, she sent him home and got hystercial crying, and was a hot mess, before her F1 arrived.

Do we think Ashley will have something more along these lines with her F2?
Is that where the F2 stands and notice the hand holding.

Jilly had a really rough FRC and I wonder if it's similar to Ashley's??

Regarding this SC comparing JP and Ben's height-- I have always thought that Ben was a lot taller than JP but this SC proves differently. IMO, this takes away any of the height debates. IF we hold the construct that JP and Ben are the F2, then I can see any of these (GSG or DSG) being either Ben or JP (based SOLEY on the height-- I think we have had other evidence to show which is which) Maybe someone with good skills can draw a straight line to show the top of Ben's head to the top of JP's head. Based on this SC, it can only be an inch difference. JMO

Shoulder to shoulder looks to be about 2 inches, but who knows. I always thought that Ben was way taller than JP as well. Could be the camera angle as well.

I agree. Height differential among all three guys is no more than 2 inches. They all look too short in the picture in question. My question for someone who understands photography is if the camera is not only behind GSG but high above and looking down on them, would the height perception differential be even greater than if the camera were at eye level?

Great question. The height of the camera as well as the distance of the camera to the subjects will affect the relative height of the two people in the shot. The closer the camera is, the more pronounced the effect will be.

To answer your specific question... (and to relate it to the FRC shots) if the camera is close behind the guy, and shooting down from a higher angle, then the relative height difference will be smaller... meaning Ashley will look taller than she is in comparison to the guy. If the camera is close behind the guy and shooting up from below his shoulder, then the height difference will appear larger.. meaning Ashley will look shorter than she is in comparison to the guy. I am sitting at my desk so I just recreated this phenomenon with two pens. Hold them about an inch apart, at the same height, with one closer to you than the other, and put your eye right up behind the closer one. Then move your eye higher and lower and note how the relative height of the two pens change. When your eye (representing the camera) is higher, the farther-away-pen looks higher, when your eye is lower, the farther-away-pen looks lower. The farther-away-pen is Ashley. The FRC shot of GSG is from slightly below his shoulder level...more like her mouth or chin level, so it would make sense that she looks shorter than if the camera were shooting from either her eye-level or the top-of-her-head-level.

However, I really hesitate to go by height at all with these shots because there are so many variables.. her shoes, his shoes, the angle, the camera height, the distance. That is why I think matching the shape of a jawline is a more accurate determination than a height differential, unless we are talking about HUGE differences in height, just a few inches is not enough to go on unless we know that the camera angle and distance was exactly the same in each shot. (which, it wasn't).

As far as I can tell, all evidence still shows IMO is that GSG(striped shirt guy) is JP.

Thank you for that great lesson in perspective! It is a fabulous illustration of why the height difference is a red herring. And I agree that the striped shirt is JP. I just went back and looked at the slomo again. I now believe, after thinking it but not saying, that the boat walk, the hands in pocket scene and the hand holding scene are all Ben. I think the white sewing thread inside the jacket around the pocket is not that common and belongs to the same jacket. I checked my husband's suits to make sure and none of them have white or lighter thread inside (my hubby of course thinks I am nuts at this point). The JP shots are only the close up ones where you see the striped shirt and where he walks around Ashley to stand in the correct ring position (just IMO). And I also think it is very possible that the shirt that looks blue getting off the plane is just from being in the shadow or photoshopped to "enhance" it to that color and may really be white.

Of course this is just my visual take.....no particular hat in the ring here....just trying to sleuth.

And I meant to add.....what an emotional scene to watch again between Jillian and Kiptyn. How can you NOT be devastated to let your F2 go when he is such a great person and that you care about deeply. Ashley will have a terrible time with her F2 goodbye

Thanks, that why I added that video on here today, so we get prospective about this entire show and that TPTB always want the Bachelorette broken hearted and crying on her FRC. Ali put her foot down and somehow managed to not go that route and had a very happy, no sad tears, FRC with Roberto.

I also think Ashley's will mimic Jillian's very much, even with Ryan coming back before the FRC, just to mess with her head, like Reid did at the FRC.

Sometimes I really wish that I would just post what I am thinking. But then I worry that if I am wrong, I will look so foolish. I have been thinking about this whole business of the difference in height between JP and Ashley in that FRC SC. Then I started to think if it could have something to do with the camera angle or where the camera was positioned. I kept it to myself, but thank goodness someone brought it up!

I really appreciate the explanation of the differential depending on where the camera is positioned. It makes so much sense. I think we also have established that it is Ben who is DSG. Those are his hands beyond question. GSG is definitely JP because the cheek and jaw line is definitely him. Now I just have to be clear in my mind why he is walking away. I know the theory is that he is turning around to be in position to propose to her. It's the best explanation we have for now, but I hope we can get more confirmation or another SC.

And look at Chris L now. So happy with Peyton. It all works out in the end. Ben and JP are fine men. Whomever has fallen in love with Ashley, the other will find someone amazing. Hopefully the other would be the next Bach. It would be a win win for us either way.
