Just wanted to include a link to an article about said "ex-gf" of Blake, that I came across while reading your discussions....not sure if it will be relevant?
http://entropicorgan.blogspot.com.au/2014/09/the-bachelors-ex-girlfriend-in-alleged.html
Just noticed her mentioned lately and not sure if anyone else has seen this too? If she is a fake, then some of the theories/insights may need re-thinking? Should I have posted this?
Thank you all for your insights - I have enjoyed following this discussion and hope it's fine to continue to do so.
I stand by my account of how things went down and want to say that I never said anything untrue about Blake. My intent was to just be like the rest of the sleuthers here and comment of the show and give any insights I may have had. People tell me things. Even to this day I get told things without searching them out or looking for them.
In all honesty I was rooting for Blake and Sam. I truly wanted him to find love and have babies and live the life I know he wants. I believe he truly wants to get married and to have children and I believe that he will be a good father to make up for the father he didn't have in his life. I was sad the day the news broke. Genuinely sad for the man.
someone asked me about the business. One of the very first things he told me was about Alpha. I asked him later why he told me that right off and he said because if I had a problem with it he wouldn't have to keep doing it. I believe him. As far as I know he was never an actual stripper. The photos coming out surprised me.

Can't wait for the The Project tonight! Also hope someone buys the Woman's Day mag! Found the summary of it:

Hope these interviews don't become a reiteration of the same thing...
THE BACHELOR – WHY I DUMPED SAM!
What was meant to be a fairytale ending for The Bachelor’s Blake and fiance Sam has ended in heartbreak. In a must-read exclusive interview, Blake Garvey tells us why he called it quits with fiancee Sam Frost just weeks after proposing in South Africa. Blake says his feelings changed for the stunning blonde when they arrived home, leaving Sam utterly heartbroken. “Sam is someone that I absolutely love and care for, but not in the way of a romantic partner,” says Blake. “I was completely blindsided,” adds a devastated Sam.

well this is going to be interesting -- i'm sure everything is going to be sugarcoated but essentially -- the feelings seem to have switched off for blake. at least that's his side of the story. the distance might have had to do with it...but it's totally weird imo he did keep asking/referring to "lasting love" dunno what he means by that/is looking for, for that...but it looks like we got a "bubble" situation. if the feelings did turn off for him then i can't fault him for breaking up vs keeping up the pretense. when did they MEET for him to figure out if the feelings were gone? in sydney when the photoshoot happened? why didn't they try to meet before? how bout communication before that?
Regarding his business and the lies by omission -- imo that reflects very poorly on him -- i think the same goes for how he described the relationship situation he was in before going into the show. in all this nobody is perfect IMO for him to act in an honorable way here's what i expect:
that he step up when called for it by being honest open and forthright. (dunno if the producers influenced how he acted) but he didn't behave in that way in some things maybe he did with breaking things off with sam...in the same vein i would have wanted him to be forthright to be kind by being fully transparent by sharing WHY they wouldn't work and not leave sam in the dark she says she's totally blindsided?!?...if sam is playing that up cos her pride is hurt and she wants to burn him a bit or she's auditioning for the bette well that's the same craziness that happens with thebette/bach every year whomp whomp

its weird how he talks about sam's genuiness on the show, yet he's the one that is coming off not genuine and a bit fake? idk. i dont think this show was made for him finding love, if that was what he was truly looking for.

I am cringing reading that excerpt...not in the way of a romantic partner....is Blake for real? Why in the world did he propose then? He could have just said let's date and see how things are in the real world? I think he has commitment problems. You don't tell someone you have not been more sure of anything else in your life (I am sorry producers did not throw that line in there, that was him saying that willingly) without loving them . At this point, I am seriously doubting Blake knows the meaning of love....it's not a switch you turn on or off. Like Emusha said, glad he broke things off rather than string poor Sam along.

concurr. it's ridiculous for someone to propose/make a promise to create a LIFE TOGETHER then give the "I'm just not that into you" line that's actually ABSURD if you REALLY think about it in real world terms. I'm there with you. I think he has commitment problems/is emotionally unavailable for whatever reasons.

OMG!!!!! Blake screwed up big time!!!! They look so good together.
Why is the mag still printing this picture? Maybe it was from the photoshoot in Sydney 3 week ago.
Emusha, please help decode Blake's body language in this picture? Sam looks in love to me, I can't read Blake in this picture!!!!!

In our exclusive interview after calling off the engagement just days before the final episode aired, Blake revealed it was a “combination of factors.”
“Being back in reality, in a long-distance relationship, having unfiltered contact and really getting to know each other more,” the real estate auctioneer confessed.
“It highlighted that Sam is someone I absolutely love and care for but not in the way of a romantic partner. I realised there was a change over the six weeks – the chemistry changed.
“It didn’t feel like what I expected or hoped for. I had an idea of how we’d be together and I went on my gut instinct. I had fears and doubts like anyone and unfortunately they were realised.”
Though a clearly heartbroken Sam admits she was in complete "shock" when Blake called it quits after just six weeks.
“I burst in to tears to be honest,” the 25-year-old revealed.
“I’m so numb at the moment. Just trying to process it all.
“I was completely blindsided. At the end of the day I think he was too confused emotionally to know what he wanted.
UGHHHHHH -- that's my initial reaction. LMAO.

I am sorry, I still don't get why he got engaged knowing that he had fears and doubt to begin with, that's the part I really want to know the answer to at this point!!!
Aerina, how do you think the Aussie public will react to Blake's reason for the break up based on this excerpt?
