hahaha I love Laurina too, especially her frankness! I definitely grew to like her more as the show progressed.
hmmmm, yes. It makes me wonder whether he was just that way towards Laurina because he never felt he had a "connection" with her & the producers wanted to keep her in, or whether he was that way towards any of the other girls as well...being warm on camera and cold off camera. He's certainly a great actor if the latter was the case! I so wanted to believe he was as genuine as he was portrayed!

i'm with you on that Emusha! He looked flabbergasted! Also wonder if he recognised the voice of the caller!

yea i'm really curious what his reaction was about! completely flabbergasted -- he was looking around like he was maybe being punked like allforlove said...

regarding laurina -- maybe he was frustrated that she just wasn't willing to play along for the show ....one of the biggest compliments he had for lisa was that she understood the show and was calming/thoughtful and considerate during the show -- not bugging him out with concerns that other girls were (i.e. chantal) -- i still go back to his consistent PR message that he was being real and in the moment with every girl...he very much acted like he trusted the full process maybe he wasn't into the fact that laurina was such a free spirit...and didn't play by the rules

I find that Bachelorgate will have its pros and cons going into the next season but nothing that will hurt the network. Australia loves to hate trash TV, and there are a lot of people who are going to watch it for the sake of satisfying guilty pleasures or hate-watching, like Rosie. Big Brother Australia has been a polarizing yet very successful TV series here (although this year's season of BB is a pile of poop due to the boring contestants), and I can see it being in the same category as BB. So ratings galore there for Ten if they can deliver the same amount of drama next year. On the downside, Blake was very controversial, so the cynics and feminists will be even more relentless with the show, but what did you expect with a reality show centering around semi-polgamy, hahaha. I don't think that's even a downside, TBH. If it gets the tongues wagging, then it doesn't hurt. The people who are not fans will be watching in and checking up on the goss anyway, so more buzz for the show.

This "scandal" is tame anyway, compared to Jake and Vienna's break-up, Ben and Courtney, JP's season, and the Jason switcheroo hahaha. Unless some more news comes along on Monday or later on...

How do you think a bette season would fare aerina? someone had said people would be peeved about a woman aggressor cos expectations are that men woud need to chase her... say a season of bachette with ali or sam or rochelle?

Hmmm... If Sam's the Bette, I think it will initially bring in the viewers for those who were glued to season two and the aftermath of it, plus the introduction of the Bachelorette will have some curious eyes tuning in... so I think it'll do fine. Will have steady and regular viewership and very similar to Tim's season in terms of people tuning in, ratings and buzz. But it were anyone else like Rochelle or Louise... I don't think it'll do okay in the long run since they don't really radiate on screen and they seem more composed to me.

And since the US Bette series doesn't really have a history of scandals or multi-faceted or controversial characters, it'll be easier to forget about it. You don't really see the men talking about each other behind their backs, being outraged for not getting dates or being jealous... If there is one particular guy in there that's very, very likable vying for the Bette's heart, I can see the female viewership being won over.

Ali has a boyfriend now so that's off the table... Which sucks, cos a season with her could actually do okay.

Whether or not the gender-swap is done to shut the feminists down, people will always find a way to nitpick it for being trash TV or because of the contestants being all/mostly white and attractive... but it'll be less controversial nevertheless. It'll be nice to finally see a woman in a position of control over the relationships, as in society, men are known to be as the Alpha.

It really depends on the girl they choose as Bette having personality and spark... and the contenders... and whether Australia is willing to watch it for the actual premise of the show, which is about finding love, as opposed to watching it for the drama.

I guess I see everything related to the stripper conversation because it has now come out that Blake is the owner of a stripper business not just a dabbler from days gone past.

Regarding Sam being the Bette, it is very probable. She has the most IG followers out of all the girls. The knowledge that Blake was not just sleazy but owns a sleazy company is now being circulated. No way for him to back out of that one. The production company could easily have her as Bette and conclude the whole "Life of Sam... to be continued theme".... They could have set him up just to put her in this position. Whether they do or not will be based on whether viewers want to be reminded about Blake or not. If the production team knew all along about Blake's true occupation (very likely) then this could have been their game plan from day one to tell the story of Sam. Nice guy or not, truly fell in love or not, Blake's occupation is the nail in his coffin more than anything else. True, he could have wanted to put that behind him and saw Sam's life as something he really wanted to be a part of but ultimately, his past occupation has caught up with him and sullied his reputation far more than his behaviour has.

Just my thoughts. Haha. This season has been crazy.

Yep, I did. Alana's been invited as well in the comments of this post and she lives the furthest away from all the girls (Perth). It can't be a geographical thing.

I don't see Laurina rallying around Sam if Sam was the girl the caller was talking about. Not sure what to think... maybe all just rumours and poking at Blake. As for validity on it being one of the F5 girls it seems that the only possibility is Louise? And if so, it would make sense she would be okay with Blake since she is in the same industry as him. All the other girls have met up together or commiserated with Sam since the breakup news.

If Blake was really wanting to start a new chapter, close the door as such to his sleazy past, and find a genuine girl as he said he found with Sam, and then his past has come back to haunt him then that is somewhat sad. Based on the girl's now all coming out against Blake it definitely casts doubt on Blake.
