... not the wedding polka again.
I Nick for his mind so I'm not keen on seeing him on any fluff type shows. Oh, well yes, his body too so maybe an ad campaign for somethin' somethin' hot & spicy. Cheetos on the beach?

Get him away from this franchise, though. It will take whatever strengths he had from this season--after being hit and run over by the bus multiple times and turn them into worse chum than this season ever imagined and showed.
Run, Nick, run. This show is not your box of chocolates. It's your box of ex-lax.
Awesome post Kasha! Exactly, they will run the bus over him. Run indeed Nick!
Late to party! Thanks for the laugh Kasha!!! So true, so true.
Loved Nick's interviews with Billy. He continues to impress and come across so genuine. I listen to him and think, of course, that happened. Yes, you are soooo right, about the sacred act of asking hand in marriage. And, gosh, you are so kind to the other guys and so friggin self aware about all that went down.
What's not to like about this guy?! I just don't understand how Nick has possibly become the most polarizing F2 in the history of this show?!?

I love that it's being picked up, but I think some are interpreting it incorrectly.
"A “Bachelorette” contestant seems anything but the ideal candidate to offer love advice (does anyone really believe in finding true love on reality TV?). But this guy gets one thing right: sex is sacred. "
I don't believe Nick has ever said sex is sacred. That was not his point. Ironically, the one thing the author thinks he got right, she got wrong.

True.
In an interview I posted earlier, Nick told Billy Bush he viewed asking a father for permission to propose as sacred. He's never said sex is sacred, he just essentially said he believes at this point in his life that sexual intimacy is an expression of love and commitment.
What I find intriguing is that his blog is moving away from rag mags into the public square for debate. That a particular site would misinterpreted to support it's own agenda is even more intriguing given the "source" is tv Nick from "The Bachelorette". Not your typical day at the reality tv office. That has to be another Nick first.

No kidding!
The key messages that I took from the blog were: open communication & respect.
"Whatever your beliefs about sex, we live in a very sexual world. To me what’s most important is that the two people involved have a clear understanding of what sex means to the other person. If the emotional attachment to sex isn’t equal, sex can be hurtful. Consequently, it should be treated with the greatest amount of respect."
and
"Sex, when enjoyed in the right context, is a wonderful way to solidify a relationship. But when expectations aren’t the same for both partners, it can be devastating."
***
With campaign season right around the corner and religious/conservative groups picking up on it, I wouldn't be surprised if this issue is brought up again and again. Does anyone remember how Dan Quayle used the whole Murphy Brown single mother controversy in one of his speeches way back when?
Nick for President!

you quoted my fav parts as well! Of course, the entire blog is rather exquisite in intent and delivery with clarity of purpose. His writing style is the embodiment of the Renaissance Man of yore.
imagining "Nicholas Viall" references in a political campaign. Now that would be real reality tv!
