Nick impresses me more and more every time I see him.  I need to stop this Nick addiction!  

LOL! We need a support group to overcome this addiction - but I think that would be counterproductive since the whole time we'd still be discussing Nick!

The pleasure in being a Nicholas Viall supporter       throughout this silly tv show has been validation that this man is a vanguard of the highest order.  

As Mura pointed out upstream (thanks for the mention, my friend), I have always been well aware of his imperfections.  However we are all flawed so really the focus in any "judgement" of character is much more about how equipped a person is to rise above their imperfections when faced with adversity.  On that account, Nick has effortlessly soared.  

The capacity of Nick to elevate the simplicity of a formulaic reality tv to debate about vulnerability, intimacy, unconditional love, "making love", what should be the terms of an engagement, risk, compassion, authenticity, truth-speaking, sex, and heartbreak from a male who defies stereotyping is simply phenomenal. His words and actions have always aligned (regardless of whether some like it while others do not) thus separating him from those who are bystanders to their own life story.  He is not, nor will he ever be a "hollow man".  That's why journalists and news & entertainment reporters want to speak with him.  He isn't just another reality tv "star" talking about the usual "stuff".  He is a man of substance and outside the "bubble" substance matters.

The season began with a simple dedication to Eric.  CH said that would be what we would witness.  What did we learn about Eric in the short time he graced our tv screens?  Eric was passionate about life and symbolized the ultimate risk-taker.
Eric believed that love, his family, and his future family were the greatest of gifts in life and something he would compromise almost everything for.  He stated that love could be found anywhere but in order for that love to be true the confines of "The Bachelorette" show would have to bend, the lead would have to truly be herself "with him" for something authentic to grow.  He questioned her, listened to her, placed expectations on her, stated his bottom line conditions with conviction, and listened carefully before quietly responding to her concerns. He challenged her to move outside her comfort zone.  He was a man, fully formed, looking for a woman to love in an unorthodox environment.  

I think the legacy of Eric lived on throughout the season.   

Thank you for reminding us. Eric and Nick had a lot in common.

Agree with Sprite NR, this is a great post. Would you mind if I copy it to the general discussion thread for Nick. I don't think you go there, but I would love for this perspective to be shared there.

I loved these! Thanks for posting! I wish they would post the whole interview. You can tell Billy Bush likes Nick. (and not jacked up josh or andi)

With the US article on him being TB. Maybe TPTB are just putting that out there to stir up talk about the show. The comments below the story are mostly negative. If I'm wrong, I hope Nick considers the long list of potential negatives. He doesn't need it. Just seems like he could sort through the current list of "applicants" he's getting off twitter and IG with better results and privacy! One comment said they should have both Chris and Nick as TB. That could be interesting. They are different enough that the girls would be attracted to one or the other. Not to knock Chris, but I think Nick would outshine Chris in that scenario.

Did Emily O'Brien get married? If she's still single, I could see them together.

Many prayers for the Viall family. They have had a hard month of August, I hope it gets better for them.

Emily O'Brien last I heard was engaged and doing a post doctoral fellowship at Duke. I am not sure about her. I liked her at first, but didn't admire her lying to Courtney about talking about her. That lowered her in my opinion. I have no problem with people not liking everyone else, but if you are willing to say something then don't lie about it afterwards.

Nutty, I would love Nick as the bachelor if I trust TPTB, but in recent history the only one to really come out ahead after being the lead is Sean and maybe Ali before him. I fear what they would do to Nick.

Now TAR or survivor, I would watch again for Nick and JJ. Plus both shows have higher success rates of marriages then the bachelor

Great Videos! Nick, Nick, Nick!!!! I love this guy! As much as I would love to see Nick on my screen for another 9 weeks, I cringe at the thought of what TPTB would come up with to really mess him up! After Ben F season, I swore I wouldn't want any contestant I liked to become the lead ever again. But by some slim chance that Nick became the Bachelor, we all on this board would be in trouble    I have been slowly trying to wean myself from this board little by little but with his own season, I would be stuck on here and it would not even be funny! So I pray for my sanity, that he stays far far away from this evil franchise!

We've talked about some on the contestants doing these shows in the past. I remember Sean's sweet dad and his BIL did a video application for TAR. Amber and Rob did both shows but both are CBS shows. I suspect we will never see a bachelor contestant on either show because CBS wouldn't want to promote an ABC show even if it would be a popular choice for their cast. JMHO.

What impresses me is Nick has nothing but praises for Josh, he even said Cody is a great guy. He had no interests in showing up n BIP, so I hope he has no interests in the Bachelor.

   I remember Billy saying there would more parts of the same interview airing at a later date but then I forgot about it until these clips showed up.  All the clips were from the day after ATFR.  This was his first interview.

Agree with whoever said Billy's respect for Nick during the interview is obvious.  Two men talking   

Why now   Nick looks quite emotional/brokenhearted at points in the vid so it certainly doesn't support today's Bachelor rumors ... quite the opposite.  He referred to asking a father for his daughter's hand in marriage as sacred and alluded to it being odd to have two guys do that one day after the other plus he talks about the time frame being a bit quick for a proposal.  These things (in addition to his FS concerns) don't make him a fit for "the process"... just a great fit for real life.

I would love seeing him do something with friends related to Global Odyssey which is the organization continuing Eric Hill's round the world adventure. Eric used to do vid diaries so we could watch Nick and others in a web series. That would be fun!
