For me, I don't hold anyone else accountable for what someone else does or says--unless they were held at gun/knife point or one of their loved ones was being held hostage.

I disagree. The people that you associate with reflect directly on you. The people that I choose to be friends with, the person that I marry, and the politicians that I support all say something about my values and beliefs.

If I had a friend (like, say, Kelly) who made jokes about Nick being a pedophile and a murderer? Says something about me. Just like if Nick chooses to follow someone because of the vulgar tweets they put out? Says something about him.

A friend IRL is completely different from a follow on Twitter. Andi was basically endorsing what Kelly was saying because they were live tweeting together. I know I don't put a lot of thought in who I follow.  Honestly I really don't care who someone I follow follows so what does that say about me?   :halo:

yeah, but we are talking about Social Media, when not every "like" and not every "favorite" means "I agree" or "I like it really" ... not every "follow" or "friendship" is an actual friendship or relationship of any kind, sometimes it's just a number.

Right and a lot of people were upset because Kelly was promoting such awful words. Now, we have Nick who is following someone who is promoting such disgusting and absurd things about a couple and since Nick is following this person, he's essentially promoting those actions and apparently thinks it's okay. Where's the logic with that?

well, here is my take (I am more of a Nick fan, but i do like Josh & his family, the one i dont like is MeAndi):
1. I cannot see why Nick is essentially promoting those actions, not at all. I follow a lot of different person on tweeter, does it make me a bad person if they said something bad. To my little understanding of Nick as a person outside this Bachelor Nation, he could do this because he finds it hilarious (it really is funny in some ways, because the person cares to start an account to insult the couple he/she hates, it amuses me too. i guess only Jodi Fan take it so offensively)

2. By your logic, MeAndi not only follows Kelly, she is her BFF!! So she is essentially carrying the same spirit to promote the meaniess as kelly. Is this what you essentially mean?

So no, following a person doesnt mean promoting the same spirit.

There are many, many things people we are close to in life do and say, we as their friends/family are never aware.  Everyone pretty much has a dark side at one time or another. (I'm certainly not referring to myself or anyone reading this!)  
I have seen many good people, have family that have taken a wrong path.  Example: The family who has good values who has a child that involves themselves in activity that is not so good. I don't believe the parents should be held accountable.  And that goes in reverse, the family that is not so good and ends up having a wonderful offspring.
I agree that most of us want to surround ourselves with people of a like mind and value system. However, this is not always true in all facets of life and personality. Nor is it always feasible.
Each year that goes by, I try to be less judgmental. It's not easy. But for all I know that could be me in the other person's shoes. All I can control is myself.(and that ain't an easy job) I certainly have no control over anyone else.

As far as social media--I was watching something earlier today and basically what it was trying to say is: it is an easy way to bully and be anonymous. I think a lot of people take advantage of this.
For the people who are utilize SM and aren't anonymous--I would hope they would tread caustiously. JMO

I don't see why this has become a Nick vs. Kelly thing. Nick is capable of doing a bad thing, while Kelly simultaneously does a bad thing. It's not like only ONE person is allowed to be immature/stupid/disgusting at a time.

I've always found fault with Kelly's tweets. i've always found fault for Andi for being friends with a person who calls contestants bombers, murderers, and pedophiles. I now can find fault with Nick too.

I ask because I’m always curious about ppl, and I’m trying to understand that world that is outside of my head. Nick is no villain like Bentley, Wes, Rated-R… the list goes on, but ppl hate him to death. I still don’t understand what he did to deserve all the hates?

I mean, even Wes, Bentley and Rated-R weren't "villains". The worst that they did was go on the show for the wrong reasons (Jillian actually said in an interview that she knew that Wes was there for his music career from the start and didn't care), have a girlfriend back home (so did Graham and he's super popular), or call the Bachelorette ugly (even Arie tweeted something negative about how Ashley looked). In general, people take these shows and "characters" way too seriously, IMHO. No reality TV star is worth that much hatred and attention.

As far as Nick goes, I really enjoyed him throughout the season and ATFR. I thought he was one of the few genuine people this show has ever had. The 3 SM "mistakes" have stopped me from being a fan, but I don't hate him or anything.

And, I have NEVER been a fan of Andi's. Have always thought that she plays the victim, lacks empathy, and is narcissistic. I'm pretty neutral on Josh, but I couldn't care less about Jodi.

I don't hate Nick. I really don't know why I would, that takes too much energy

I felt sorry for him all season personally. His edit was atrocious and he was falling in love with a woman who was wildly chasing after a man who couldn't be more different than him.

It's his behavior ever since filming ended that I have a huge problem with in terms of feeling bad for him or supporting him. Starting with the video Steve posted, to the following Andi around, the sm which was clearly meant to embarrass her and cause drama with Josh (intimate shot against the tree, fs is too hot to handle for Bella), and all the other stuff that was noted throughout the season. The final nail in the coffin for me is the fs talk at atfr. I find it unforgivable and the fact that he went on to media interviews for it that gave even MORE detail and went on and on and on and also, on some more this week, just shows that it was no accident. He knew what he was doing and did it to humiliate her- look Josh and the world, I had the Ette too! Barf.

As for why I love Andi? This isn't the right thread for it, but suffice to say I loved her last season and even more once Josh showed up.

Obviously this is all JMO. I understand people see his behavior differently and don't like Andi or whatnot and I have no problems with that.
