If you look at these contestants (and their contemporaries), many (certainly not all) have sex with anyone with whom they share an attraction (or a few alcoholic beverages). Love may be involved, but it is certainly not a requisite. Do you think Dylan has been in love 20+ times? Yet he admitted to having sex with more than 20 women. And, just today I read that Marcus, my little strudel, may not have admitted on the LD date that he has kanoodled with more than 20 poodles. Am I shocked? No. Why? Well, have you seen the man?! I'm sure Marcus has to beat women off of him with a stick, and sometimes his arms must get awfully tired and then he just needs to lie down and rest and then those hoes take advantage of him! No, seriously...Do I think that Marcus has been in love with 20+ women? No. Afterall, Andi was only the 2nd woman he brought home to meet his mom (and that was only because it was a requirement of this show )

My point is this: Sex can be...
1) sharing the most intimate physical act with the one person that they are in love with, to the extent that they will/are wed til death do them part, taking into account the possibility that their intercourse may result in a pregnancy, in which case they would be happily committed to co-parenting with this sex partner for the rest of their lives. And said sexual intercourse is the physical manifestation of their intense emotional and mental love for one another.
or 2) something fun that you do with somebody cute that you kinda like
or 3) something you do every time you go out and have a few beers (because for some reason they look cuter and you kinda like them when you have downed a few brews)

Now, think about this show... You have 2 or 3 guys who are madly in bubble love with the lead. This places them somewhere ahead of reason #2 and almost at reason #1. They justify it. They know that in their lifetime that they have already slept with a person, or two, or three, or 20 that they didn't even feel this strongly about. So, they feel like sleeping with the lead in the FS is a no-brainer. Why wouldn't they? They've already lived a life of casual sex or really low standards, and they probably feel pretty good about having sex on this incredible island paradise with a decent, smart, attractive girl with whom they have a 50/50 chance of becoming engaged to. And, I feel the you can say all the same for the lead. She has slept with men for whom she did not have as strong of a connection, love, or the 50/50 chance of being proposed to by.

I'm not saying it's a normal situation. In a normal situation no man would propose to a woman who has been simultaneously dating several men and quite possibly swapped DNA with the night prior to his engagement. But, somehow, on this show it happens like that. Not always, but sometimes. And the reason it does is because of the contestants attitudes towards what sex means and with whom do you share sex with. I'm not saying it is right or wrong. Simply trying to suggest one reason for why it might happen that 2 (or 3) men sleep with the lead, and then they compartmentalize it and not think it's really that big of a deal.

This was the funniest post, especially the first paragraph. I can think of a 4th reason for sex on this show. To make sure the guy doesn't figure out he's the next one leaving. She needs him to stick around until she's ready to crush him like a bug on the final day. It's an ugly reason, but that may be in their head, along with reason number 2 of course.

Actually, don't care what they do in the FS but I did think Bachelor Australia Tim had the right idea - make sure the girls knew ahead of time what was not going to happen there.

Also, it never occurred to me that perhaps Marcus' "lie" was that he over estimated how many women he has slept with. But, hmmm, soccer does have a high rate of concusions and concusions might impair math skills, so.....yeah, it's possible.

And, umm, yeah, what was that stuff coming out of the side of Andi's green bikini top on the FD?

Also....when it comes to a side-boob showdown, Marcus' new lady wins hands down! You go, Marcus! Sorry, I just love the guy. Sigh.

My all time favorite bachelor Charlie did this as did Byron and of course Sean. Both Byron and Charlie said it wouldn't be right or fair and that their would be no sex in the fantasy suite.

I admired both of them for that.

I admit, my number is close to twenty. After my divorce and then spending five years taking care of my parents, I decided to have a little/lot of fun. It does get old, but I don't regret the decision. Definitely a change from the good Catholic girl, who thought she had to marry the first guy she had sex with.

I think love makes sex much better, but I will confess, I did have one guy who we were just hot together. We could never work in real life, but physically, we were smoking together. So I am not sorry I sampled his goods.

As for Marcus, I do think he traded up in the female department! Go BiP and Mia's strudel!

i think you're right. i just remembered i have a suit that has a removable piece of padding in the top.
