Catdwoman, OMG Gone Girl has been my favorite book since I read it two years ago.  I am so looking forward to the film.  I respect your choice however since I have had trouble getting into the author's other books.

I read the book for my book club and had to force myself to read it, Pav. I just didn't like any of the characters. I might watch the movie though.

I'm not a fan of spoilers. I liked sleuthing and it was fun to figure things out when we got previews. Who can forget measuring candles, thumbs, hair parts, shadows, ... It still happens but it's not the same because once that spoiler gets in your head you watch the season differently.

No, I have some self control :giggle: ("some" being word!)--I always say I'm not going to spoil the ending and then about half way through I skip to the last chapter and read just a teeny weeny bit to feed that urge. 
However, I will seldom do that with my very favorite author. That's supreme dessert!! I won't spoil that!

Same here.  I've abandoned books midway because of the ending - I can't seem to justify investing the time on something I wouldn't be happy about.  #ExampleGoneGirl.  Have you decided to not watch B/ette because of spoiled ending?

Well, I watch this show for totally different reasons probably than most.   So I don't know how long winded you want me to get.  :hidingchair  
The short answer is "no". 
The longer answer--I watch this show for snark and for the social experiment of being a drift in a basic bubble and seeing how the people interact--much like Survivor(my favorite) or Big Brother(my second fav). 
The last reason I would ever watch this show is for romance. 
Early on this show became a game to me--like the show The Mole, if you remember that. There were contests for TB and I was good and won some. 
So the last thing I ever was attached to was a)the cast b) the romance.
I have to honestly admit over the seasons there are a few cast who have entered the realm of "real people" to me and who I have come to enjoy, (and a few here and there I really don't like) but for the most part these people are no more important in my life than the characters of any other sitcom or drama.

  I agree on all points, including your excellent taste in reality TV....loved the Mole and really missed it when it went off the air.

I just have to add, I have used this show for educational purposes. You may scoff, but, if you approach it as a social experiment...same as Survivor and BB...you can learn a thing or two about social dynamics and how people view each other and how to handle those challenging/annoying individuals. I have gotten much better at reading people and their social cues since I started watching these shows. In my field that can be a big help.

Does anyone miss the old fashion sleuthing before RS?

To me RS is a tool in sleuthing.  I am all about the spoilers.  I've had enough of MF's lies not to have them.

But if the spoilers are wrong as they were when RS was so hard nosed about Des's season and Brooks.

I like being spoiled too!  But it doesn't keep me from seeing things.  Des's season is used as this holy grail of RS being wrong.  During that season, I could see that Des and Chris had a great connection, I posted elsewhere that it was too bad that Des was so hung up on Brooks because Chris was so much better for her.  I didn't think Des was gaga over Brooks because of RS, I thought it because of her actions and the words out of her mouth.  Yes, she said that Chris was good too, only when CH pointed it out.  

RS was wrong that season and we will never know if Des would have seen the light if Brooks had stayed, either way, it worked out for the best for Des and Chris both.

That being said, it doesn't mean that RS will always be completely wrong.  For JPG's season, he had almost everything right except for Nikki being the house bitch in my opinion.

Has he been right so far this season?  Yup.  Will he continue to be right? I have no idea.  I want the spoilers this season to be wrong too.  But I think she should pick Nick.  I can't see Andi enjoying life in Iowa.  No insult to Iowa or Chris, but that doesn't seem to be Andi and I would hate for Chris to have to leave something he loves.

Anyway, rant off my chest.

LOL, no worries. I for one get tired of RS and his holyier than vow attitude. THe king of spoilers is wrong sometimes and that is why I think sleuthing should always win out.

I see Brad2 as the holy grail of RS being wrong. He had Brad having Thanksgiving dinner with Chantal's family. That was the first, then Des. I don't trust a word he gets paid for.
