Eric did not call Andi fake  ... she used that word.

The other guys had nothing to do with it, yet they got yelled at.

I don't understand how that kind of behavior is condoned, excused, or considered acceptable.

He said she was acting.  So in my world that means being a fake.  Apparently in hers too since she said that word.

She was very upset and crying, etc. might be construed as yelling, but I have definitely heard worse yelling than that.  Either way, I just don't see anything wrong with it as far as the show is concerned.  Several other leads have acted similarly.

Hi UGA, for me it is the multiple issues.  She was upset after Craig getting drunk and had to be consoled, she got upset with Eric and we know there will be yet another with the black dress/ripping off the microphone.  Plus I bet she gets upset next week too, which could still be black dress upset.  I think the fact that she has done it multiple times and doesn't seem to examine herself, but only put the blame on others if the problem for me.  I would have been happy if Andi had simply said I was tired and was taking this so seriously that I probably didn't hear everything Eric as saying and I would have been fine.  But so far, even with JPG it is always the other person's fault and Andi is never to blame at all.

Even in my divorce, I truly believe unless the other person is just evil, that in any relationship that ends, there is blame on both sides and both sides can and should try to learn from it.

OK, I guess I can see this point.  But at the same time, I would totally be upset with someone saying I am acting (to me = phony or fake).  Depending on the level of the conversation, i.e., if that person were saying it angrily to me, I am sure I would yell back at them.  If they were not, I would probably cry and still be upset.

But, I do see your point.  I guess I am not picking up on her blaming the others.

Poor Eric, it was bad timing and a bad approach. She obviously would have fought for Eric if there was deeper chemistry between the two, but there wasn't, so what's the point?? She was right to just cut it off before things got weirder.

That whole conversation just seemed to trigger any insecurities Andi had about the men. In the back of her mind she's well aware not everyone's there for the right reasons so I can see why it spilled over to the others. I saw her meltdown as "if you think I'm fake too, then just leave now".

That said, I liked Eric and I can see why Andi wanted to get to know him in the first place. No question about that!

Couldn't this also be producer or edit driven?  I mean we have some people denying that things are real for some of the bach's for the "edit" or the "producers" but the lead does not get that too?

Also, why is a woman not allowed to be emotional and upset?  I mean if someone essentially called me a phony, I would pull the Emily and say get the &^$* out.  And yes, I have told people in my life that.  I guess it makes me a hot head or someone with a temper.

I would love to see how each and every critical person on here would behave in the exact same circumstances as Andi is in.

You are so right! I think of two things: 1) TIRED and 2) OVER ACHIEVER.

My daughter, who is truly lovely, easy going and kind to everyone, transforms into someone else when she is overly tired. Not fun! Andi crossed time zones and has been working relentlessly at this point. I can bet she was super tired and as such, more easily emotional.

I am also going to bet that Andi is a type A, over achiever who works very hard and it's important for her that folks think she is doing a good job ... also like my daughter. During her comments to Juan Pablo on WTA and FD, she publicly criticized him for not getting to know the women and doing a better job at being the Bachelor. When she did that, she really shined the spotlight on herself and opened herself up to scrutiny as how she'd perform as Bachelorette.

With Eric questioning her sincerity on camera, she probably flipped out because she took it to saying that she was NOT doing a good job. She really has been working so hard and trying to get to know all the guys so well. She made a point of telling him that. I just chalk it up to her being extra sensitive to someone criticizing her efforts when she had been working so hard.

Any other times with Andi being emotional, I really chalk up to her handlers pushing her buttons and looking to create DRAMA such as the Craig situation. I really think that she's doing a great job as Bachelorette so far!

i esp. agree with no.5. In fact, i have my own consp.theory about this:  

the actual final couple is quite an 'odd' pairing look wise. the spoiled F1 according to the spoilers makes a more striking coupling with Pookie and will draw more viewers since he and the fam have built quite a large fan base

While I concur that Andi, as a prosecutor/overachiever is probably hardwired to try to win every argument, I think the characterization of her as being a flat out biotch incapable of having a successful longterm relationship is a gross exaggeration. The pressure, exhaustion, producer manipulation and editing for maximum drama must all play a part in exacerbating any tense situation. Even if the comparisons to Deanna are apt, as far as I know, even that "harpy" managed to land herself a nice husband and by all accounts is now a happily married woman with a baby, so I suspect there is hope for "Meandi" as well.

I think Andi just needs a guy who will understand her and dote on her. Deanna's husband is loves her and I'm sure if Andi found someone like that, she could also be happy and normal. Although I do love the Meeeeendi name, hilarious.

Thanks, Alanna!    I tried to stay away, but they pulled me back in. I really don't care who Andi picks this season, but I do think that Josh is the most "logical" match for her. Whether it lasts or not is another story.  :whistle:

I, personally, do not think the edit, thus far, has made Andi look like a biotch. She just has a no nonsense approach to this.

Remember when Eric said that the only time he saw the "real Andi" was when they were making sandcastles and playing on the beach? Well, he is/was an action-oriented guy, who probably went through his life living in the moment. Which is fine, but it is not everyone's approach. Andi is accustomed to doing research and building a case based on fact for her job, and I think she is taking the same approach here.

CH said in a pre-season interview, IIRC, that no lead has asked so many questions of their contestants. Andi is there on the show to both live in the moments and interview potential husbands. I think she is approaching it in a very cerebral way, which doesn't translate to hearts and rainbows on a tv screen.
