Yes whatever the outcome, the editors do a great job of covering the tracks and misleading the viewers. I know must folks say that they "see" the connection with contestant X when all the while it was just a smoke screen.

I learned from Emily's season that the person that the lead is really into (Arie) may just not end up as F1 for whatever reason. I saw absolutely nothing between her and Jef possibly because there really was nothing ????. But most on the board did. Jef got a great setup in terms of romantic and secluded 1on1 times with edited music playing during their scenes. The editors did their darnedest to sell that connection as a viable one.  Does not mean that it was.

The scene that comes to mind was when he wore those Bermuda shorts and they were talking on the beach. You could hear the crickets chirp with the uncomfortable silences. As I said they had nothing to connect with.

Sorry to go back in time with this discussion but these are things to keep in mind both with the edits.

Oh my, ND4! Is this foreboding that Chris would have the JEM Edit and would be Andi's F1?! SERIOUSLY?! I will be horrified!  If that would be the case, why should i bother studying the edit storyline? hahaha just kidding!

My "bet" changes by the minute! Most of the time i have Marcus as F1 then Josh as my Next Bachelor candidate. (Jash Edit [?!] ) Then another second I would have Josh as F1 then Marcus as F2. (Chres Edit)

Andi on Marcus first night: "Marcus iz Hot! I mean Marcus stepped out of the limo and.. the piercing eyes..
he's hot...he's hot.." "Marcus is actually not the type of person i thought he was. There was a part of me that just wants to give him the first date and see where this goes. I'm intrigued by him!" She kept gushing (again) how hot he was on episode 2. He assigned a solo act, had a great convo and gave him the group date rose.

then on Josh : "Josh M is my type.. pegged it.. Damn!.." After their amusing banter, "obviously he's my type.." Second night, she liked that he "called" her out for stereotyping. Their convo is also easygoing. Plus, he got a kiss from her at the cocktail party compared to Marcus (or Nick V)

Then i would have my Sleeper Edit... Nick V! My memory escapes me now but who among the Bachelor/Bachelorette got the first impression rose and ended up as F1? Was it Roberto? I honestly wouldn't be shocked IF Nick V ends up the F1.

(for me, pertaining to Josh and Marcus) [camera panned to JJ then Marcus ] who by the way, Andi just talked to before giving out the 1st impression rose

While having their 1st convo during the cocktail party, Andi about Nick V, "There is something sincere about him... he just stood out to me" Watching that scene again, Andi was genuinely interested in what Nick V was saying about his family. He is not as hot as Josh and Marcus but i would peg him as the "friend" that could possibly be the Last Man Standing.  Andi's description of him Episode 1 may very well be why he would.

"If you'd ask me at the beginning of the night who my first impression rose would have been, if would have been someone im straight up attracted to..."

then Andi emphatically said,

"BUT i had a great first impression of someone [camera panned to Chris   ] i would not typically go for.."

calls Nick and tells him, "This is the first impression rose.. when you stood out of the limo, i know you were so nervous BUT you totally left a lasting impression on me... such a sincerity... so genuine.. i felt that.. so endearing about you, you don't even see like how cute and sweet you are" Nick blushing and gushing, "WoW!"

So nannymargie, Nick V may turn out to be Andi's F1 and i would be absolutely fine with it. Though i've yet to see their 1 on 1 date if he would be a friend turned lover story or will be friend zoned in the end. As of now, i'm more undecisive with Josh and Marcus as F1

Where to start...
Nick, I liked having him send flowers after the date-was that a first on bach-but I still can't get into him. I didn't like the 7 year immature relationship, nor the engaged a minute, etc...OR the fact those flowers showed up during Eric's time with Andi!

Andrew-want to wipe that smirk off his face...wish someone would've told Andi, he needs to go.

Marcus-delusional, haha! 

JJ-personally, that would have been one of the worst FIRST dates ever for me, no thanks! Glad JJ enjoyed it so much, he won't be lasting much longer. Andi gave that "Emily smile" that says I'm so not into you.

Cody-WOW-nice way to start your alone time together with the girlfriend talk!

Boyz 2 Men group date was funny, as was the outtakes at the end of the show.

Not a good episode imo. Hopefully tonight's will be better.

I'm here--just haven't had a chance to process much yet. I missed the beginning of the episode and caught from the middle of Nick's date on...

I liked the flowers, but thought it was a bit showy. He could have had them sent to HER house and made it more special, in my opinion. I thought it was telling of the relationship with Eric that she opened the card and READ it (for what seemed like forever) in front of him.

Sad for Ron. He was not impressed with the producers and cameras following him around--it's always interesting to see "behind the curtain"...like the guys going out to eat?! What's up with that? I'm not sure what Josh and JJ were hoping to accomplish by confronting Andrew during the cocktail party. Regardless of the "true" story, I was somewhat in awe of Andrew's spin process. Seems he got away with it for a short time, though I suspect we're going to see more about it in tonight's episode.

What was the point of JJ's date? I felt like Andi kept saying the same things over and over again during the day--and then their evening portion was pretty stilted. She knows he's a MOT  guy; it's too bad they can't cut the NOs as soon as they know. I'd rather the show focus on the four or five they're actually interested in.

I love Shawn Stockman (hello, Sing Off!), but the other two guys seemed uncomfortable with the whole experience. And I'm pretty sure Boyz 2 Men could fill up a stadium still--the venue seemed small and kinda sad.

I always enjoy the show getting out of the mansion--ready to start the traveling!

Yes we are quite active on the spoiler side. But here are some thoughts I had on the episode that are non-spoiler-ish.

I enjoyed this episode screamed and cringed throughout the b2m date, enjoyed the outtakes during credits the most. Tasos was cute falling off his chair during his interview.

Here are my observations so far and what stood out to me:
Andi: take charge very alpha female behavior - definitely playing the lead role. She has the tendency to exude supercilious (can't think of a better term) attitude when she purses her lips and nods her head. You can tell she is confident with interviewing people and conversations. I like that she can have intelligent conversations, I wonder if she really uses her lawyer skills on her dates as it seems like a lot of the men are opening up early? But seems like when she starts getting comfortable with people her eyes brightens up and her interviews become conversations.

Nick: Date started as a getting to know you no chemistry like Eric's date, but definitely there were sparks towards the of the night lots of kisses there, some initiated by Andi. The flowers and note endeared him more to the ‘ette I bet as Andi initiated the kisses on the stoop.

Josh: Andi is playful and attracted to Josh. She acts more of a female with Josh than with anyone to date and lets him lead - very promising and different

Marcus: there is attraction and he is very sweet. But, Andi saying, "you're sweet," to him sounded patronizing. At this point Marcus' feelings are stronger than andi's that he almost sounded desperate.

JJ: very friend zone date. Him looking old most of the first date was a disservice to JJ I believe as I don't know how Andi could be attracted to an 80 yr old looking man. Anyway, Andi was leading the date and gave out rose because JJ was a good sport.

Is it just me or I am getting Andrew and Eric interchanged? They seem to look alike.

Here's another re RC drama:

JJ didn't need to follow Andrew up to the room.  Andrew needed time to regroup and it "looked like" Josh and JJ bullied him.  (Note the quotes, that's how it seemed to me on TV I think that was TPTB induced as they needed some drama.)  These two and the other men involved much later exhibited behavior of wheedling out the competition.  

Anyway all these men are vying or posturing for position and some with strong personalities like Josh will confront, and some who aren't that strong will instigate, like JJ.  Some who perhaps could look like "players" will come out.  I think the joke on Cody having a girlfriend was done to see if he is one as he could be definitely mistaken as one right - very cocky.  Andrew is probably more subdued in his actions but if I was in any girl's shoes and I see a group of handsome men, I will probably give my number to the guy who showed me some interest.  So with that said, it is possible that this is just how Andrew is, it happened the third night or first week so I don't think he's formed a strong attraction to Andi early on to hide his true skin, also possible that he just wanted to show them (other men) up.  Andrew probably was counting more on developing the bromance instead of romance at this point.  

Anyway, the drama is natural (and TPTB enhanced) when men "who want to protect" and/or "who want to eliminate competition" decide to single out someone who has different goals than the pack.  And this is when leaders of the pack start vying for that position. Interesting to watch actually and I might just start taking that pack mentality as my theme this season.  --  My .02 cents.

Yeah, I thought the cast usually stayed at the mansion/wherever unless on dates/group dates? Strange. As for JJ's date-filler! Agree on who to focus on. ;) 

Cat-thanks for your input. That's the thing about being unspoiled, we don't know any of the behind scene stuff, who knows who, ha, all the drama and who's a jerk IRL, who goes when and who is in the finals/F1, so it does color what we're allowed to "see".

I enjoyed Tasos too, I like his personality...I just don't think he'll be in the F4.

Yeah, no doubt Andi is attracted to Josh...and vice versa.

Marcus does seem "sweet", if she doesn't pick him, he'll take it hard! 

Not seeing the Andrew/Eric looking alike.

Your right about JJ & Josh not needing to follow Andrew, but they did...and yeah, we'll probably see how that all goes tonight. 

In the first place Andrew shouldn't have been showing any interest to any girl but Andi if he was there for the right reasons, which obviously he kept the number and bragged about it... have to agree with Josh, it was disrespectful to Andi.

Hmm, wasn't getting the cocky attitude from Cody?? Unlike some of the others.

It wouldn't be the Bach without all the added drama, right? 

I guess its very early to be calling the F1 at this point but interesting to see where these discussions are headed.

To our spoiled friends - do take care when posting about this season because everyone's prejudices show whether they like it or not.

I guessed the F1 last season because the spoiled folks were arguing against the spoilers in the non-spoiled section and I knew who they liked/backed.

Also Avi's, signatures could be a give away. Not saying that is true for this season but have in the past.
So please please take care.

I am still spoiler free! Just late to party. I enjoyed this episode because I can't help but root for Nick, the software sales guy.  I am narrowing my picks this week to her top 6 with the top 3 being a toss up ...

1. Nick ... So sweet and genuine and I love that he had flowers delivered to her. I bet that he came up with the idea to send flowers after date and that it was the producers who chose to have them delivered during a rose ceremony. While Nick & Andi's kisses were not initially as romantic & hot as her kisses with Josh (and Marcus to some degree), there's still plenty of time and you just never know what was left on cutting room floor. She mentioned his kiss in her blog and on show she called Nick smart and for a woman like Andi, she needs to pick a very smart guy to keep her interested & challenged. If she perceives Nick to be more intelligent than Marcus and Josh, I could see him claiming top spot.

2. Josh ... for a guy who has not had a 1-on-1 date yet, she sure seems to be very comfortable with him. Their relationship reminds me of how Emily was with Arie ... playing "the role of Bachelorette" during her time with most other guys and then kicking off her shoes and relaxing in between takes with the guys they really liked best. Andi and Josh' kisses are very natural and she leaned into him during their one on one time - never pulled back as we see her do with others. Andi also keeps calling the B2M group date one of her favorites. The fact that she gave Josh the rose during this date could be coincidence or maybe not. Just because a contestant is getting the most physical edit, does not always mean he/she ends up #1 (a la Chantal, Bevin and Arie). However, that seems more to be case with Bachelors than Bachelorettes as Ashley picked JP and Des picked Chris ... and I think both couples had fantastic chemistry (even with Chris' later confession that he waited as long as possible to not French kiss Des in respect to his mom. Sweet!).  Also, I don't know when or if Josh gets a 1-on-1 date, but it does seem to be a trend that F1 gets later out of town dates. Josh is due to get date either ep 4 or 5 (I can't imagine waiting until ep 6-7) if he's really got a shot at F1.    

3. Marcus ... I agree with what Catwoman wrote about Marcus seeming more into Andi this ep 3 than she into him whereas I'd previously say that she was equally as invested. I thought the whole love at first sight comment was a bit reaching. I had Marcus as front runner for ep 1 and 2 and now I think that Josh edged him out. I also THINK that Marcus might get needier as the season goes on whereas other guys could get stronger. I am guessing that Andi likes strong & confident. I THINK that he gets date ep 4 based on previews.

4. JJ ... While she looked to be having lots of fun on that date, I put his chances at about 30%. The date itself was a bit gimmicky and more for television audience than anything else. NOT romantic at all so if Andi did have say on who would get the getting old date, the fact that she picked JJ meant it was more because he was a good sport who could carry it off. He over shared about being dorky, nerdy and not fitting in, which might have firmly put him in friend zone. I think that Andi would be more likely to pick someone whom she would have admired or pursued in college and not someone who had issues getting along socially ... no matter how much he blossomed. But, JJ is super smart and creative, which can be attractive so I am not suggesting he throw in the towel just yet.

5. Coach Brian ... I am just adding him here because my daughter thinks he could be this season's hidden Catherine. It looks like he might get a date in ep 4 (either that or won alone time on group date) so willing to see if he's got half a shot at F1. I am not sure if he's enough of a challenge for her but we'll see. He's a teacher and coach and I don't think that we've ever seen a teacher crack top 4 on Bachelorette.

6. Farmer Chris ... So we saw NOTHING of farmer Chris' interaction with Andi at cocktail party BUT we saw him be the good guy with Dylan to further his Q rating with viewers. I don't think he's a candidate for Andi but I do think Fleiss would like to keep testing whether America wants to watch a millionaire farmer from the Midwest who kind of looks like Matthew McConaughey as the next Bachelor.

MATTER OF TIME GUYS ...  
7. Marquel - So sweet ... I love his energy and good looks but they are not showing any chemistry between them and he appears not to get 1-on-1 date next episode.  
8. Dylan - So sad ... producers are showing us no action/conversation between Andi and Dylan. It's like he's being kept around just so he can share his tragic family history. Maybe he's a hidden final four ... ??
9. Patrick - He's good looking but over shadowed by top 6 guys who are equally good looking and have better chemistry with Andi. I don't think it's a coincidence that producers panned to the shot of Andrew and Patrick arm-in-arm singing "I'll make love to you" during the live concert to really drive home the bromance angle they've got going.
10. Andrew - smarmy! can't be trusted. But I thought that the guys made a bigger deal than necessary out of the waitress number exchange. Happens every season but not nearly as juicy as the muscle heads on Des' season talking about how they are scheming to pick up babes back home.
11. Cody - .... he's just not a good fit for an attorney ... and he needs a new 'do!
12. Tasos - I just don't think he has a shot ... and there are too many rumors circulating on him in the tabloids (read Intouch article) that will further be fueled by outtake during final credits with his arm around Josh on couch.
13. Sweet Eric ... RIP

Not surprised at all that Brett and Bradley left ... wished I'd seen more of Brett as he was fun but Bradley was starting to get annoying with last night's episode! I was sad to see Ron go as we thought he had strong potential.

Great observations here. I'm still unspoiled and think the tops 6 are Josh, Nick, Marcus, Brian, Chris and a toss up. I am not seeing enough of anyone else to determine who could sneak in there. I don't think JJ does though because while I think she genuinely likes him, she is 100% sure he is not her soul mate and doesn't want to lead him on. I can see Tasos or Dylan simply because they are highlighted a bit more than the other guys. I'm still wondering if there is a hidden edit this season also. Simply because they are really putting several of the guys so much in our face. More after tonight's epi. Glad to see some are still unspoiled with me!

WOW-- I like waiting and gathering my thoughts before I post my thoughts on the entire episode but...I had to jump in and say I CAN'T believe TPTB left that in quite that way. I think they could have handled it better. What a train wreck. Again, just had to jump in "in the moment". Can't wait to hear thoughts from others!

Wow is right! I'd of never dreamed it was Eric the drama was about tonight! Be interesting to see how everyone else took that. To leave on such a bad note, knowing what happened, then a 1on1 with Chris/Andi...I'd of rather have seen a montage or pic or something of Eric. Not ending with Andi we know how she really felt about it. I think Eric was really trying to get her to put her "guard" down, be more natural & real...he might of said it in a honest & blunt way...but she's just as blunt! I'll miss him, he seemed like a great guy. Oh and my jaw dropped when Eric said he came there to meet a person not a tv actress, ha! Probably not the best way to get your point across.

Oh Dylan, what a sad life. I really like him. He's to reserved for her, but hope he stays for awhile.

Brian-wow on that half-court shot! Way to go! Nice taking her in to get a kiss later on. Love that he got the rose and Nick didn't!    

Marquel is hilarious, he's def. in the friend zone though.

Marcus-it's a bit early to say your falling in love...especially with so many guys left and this is your first date. 

Ok, who gave her that "love" letter?? I'm thinking Josh?? Cool thing to do, especially now, with all the texting everyone does.
